heard about the new swype keyboard for your motorola droid? here is how you can install it before it’s actually released! and trust me, it’s worth it…
the directions:
1. download and install the astro file manager from the android marketplace
2. download this zip file.
3. unzip that file, which will give you a file called “[mfhs]Swype-SwypeReference-WVGA854-trial-release.0.35.3959.apk”
4. copy the apk file to your handset’s sd card
5. on your android handset, go to settings > applications > and check the box next to “unknown sources”
6. use astro to browse for the apk file on your sd card, install it.
7. go to settings > language and keyboard. enable the swype keyboard.
8. you should now be able to switch between the standard keyboard and the swype keyboard by tapping-and-holding on any text input field.
9. and your done.

i got this app on my droid and it shows up on my screen i can type by hitting the letters like the old keyboard but when i swype it shows the trail blue line and then i let off with my finger and the phone makes its sound and no word shows up but around the keyboard it gose blue….. any ideas how to fix this thing?

ya i got swype on my droid but theres one problem. i still cant text in the words when i use the swype keyboard it says that my trail period has ended and need to get some sort of upgrade???help me please!!!!

never mind figured it out got the purpleswype on my droid now!!! Sooooooo sweet! found it under apps on this website and uninstalled this swype and follewed same instructions and installed the purple version!! Oh Ya My Droid Does!!

Hi, I just discovered this blog and I love it. Thanks for having iit up. I love this swype keyboard but I cant get it to type a word when I slide my finger. It also says it is a trail, where can i get the real thing. Could you please help.
