Kellen

Itโ€™s not often that you get to merge personal passions into a professional life, but thatโ€™s what Kellen did when he launched Droid Life in 2009. After working years of unsatisfying jobs in the medical and property management fields, he took a risk to try and create an online community while playing with the coolest gadgets on the planet each day, a risk that has turned out to be incredibly rewarding. Outside of Droid Life, Kellen is your typical Portlander who drinks way too much good beer, complains often about the Trail Blazers, and can be found out on the streets for a run, rain or shine.

  • Well the Android central has someone mirroring the source code through rapidshare…I'm wondering if this is possibly a hoax. Your thoughts on this, Kellex? thanks

  • The Droid Incredible is made by HTC for Verizon Wireless. It's the spiritual successor to Verizon's Google Nexus One, but will be wholly branded by Verizon

  • I'd really like the barnacle app so I can use this as a wifi hotspot with my wife's ipad.

  • I am running BB 1.0 with the 1000lv Kernel. It is so fast I stopped dreaming of the Incredible or Sense UI.

  • Bought the wife an incredible this past weekend, I must say that thing is slick. I would love to see the incredible's responsive camera ported. (i.e. no hesitation like ours)

  • When I click on jairomeo on rom manager a box pops up that say “error occurred while processing the rom list” Any suggestions? Just rooted and love it. Thanks Kellex for your videos.

  • a rooted droid incredible? what else could you possibly add to the phone…it's almost perfect.

  • Yeah I could go for Sense UI with my overclocked droid ..preferably as part of a Cyanogen/JRummy ROM.

  • Just went to the website to download the source code…it's not listed there anymore…similar reports on XDA and androidcentral of people not being able to see the links…

    • Not a hoax. I just took that screenie with my phone. I was unable to see it on my PC though, but both phones (hah both) showed it available for download.

      • Not seeing it anymore through the Motorola Droid…it lists the exact same seven links as I see through Firefox on my WinXP machine…wondering if they accidentally did this and pulled it once they saw the goof.

        • No it's definitely still there heh. Just give your PC some time. ๐Ÿ˜›

          • Kellex, I just rooted my Droid last night. I put Jrummy's green theme rom on it.(not loving it but it looks better than stock) I reinstalled apps, sms, and call logs but thats it. Its not running very fast (not slow but laggy) I got through the sprecovery and Rom installation pretty smoothly. What do u suggest I do now to get me up to speed with everyone else?

          • I downloaded setCPU and its open but I dont know how to overclock or what to overclock too..The default is set at 550mhz (max) and 250 mhz(min) **no wonder its running slow***

          • Set it to 800 mhz…pretty good speed. anything over that kinda starts to put a strain on the processor on my Droid. Especially if running a live wallpaper and bunch of background apps…

          • Congrats on being rooted, once you overclock you will realize why many people prefer it so much over running stock. I believe JRummy's Rom comes with a bekit 5 slot 1.1ghz kernel so get setcpu and you'll be get to feel the potential of the Droid.

          • Thanks alot nhex19…I guess this is why it took me so long to root…I dont know what a bekit or a kernel is..and I dont know how to overclock either.the max the green bar will scroll to is 550 so how do I get it up to 880 or so?

          • when you first went into setcpu did you select auto detect? When you first set up setcpu do not select motorola droid as your device to detect. But if you did just go back into setcpu and hit the menu button at the bottom of your phone, then Device Selection will pop up at the bottom. Go into that and select Autodetect Speeds Recommended. After you select that you should then be able to move your green bar to the different speed slots you want.

          • Thanks, thats exactly what it was..I set it to 800 cause the bar was a little glitchy. it was either set at 880 or it skipped to like 1.1. The 880 seems pretty fast so Imma stick with that one for now.

          • Glad you got it working. Yeah go ahead and test it out and see what speed is most stable for your liking. Once you get to test out all the bells and whistles of being rooted you will definitely see how much control rooting gives you over your Droid. E

          • Overclock that thing using SetCPU and it will no longer be lagging…HAVE FUN!

    • ah, just downloaded, but, what you want it? I got it on the computer, sorry I'm not a programer, hehe

  • so when will we see some of the apps ported over to the droid ??? ๐Ÿ™‚

    • They have the same apps the question is when will we see some of their widgets?
