Verizon is finally gearing up to launch the Droid 2 Global by giving their employees a quick 5 minute video highlight reel to hammer through. The device, which we gave you the first pictures of, is still sort of a mystery and hasn’t been officially announced, although we have a pretty good feeling it’ll come out alongside the Droid Pro as sort of a dual launch. Both phones have global roaming capabilities and are positioned for the “business” crowd, so what better way to kick off the holiday shopping season than by giving new Droid adoptees a choice?

I hope this comes out before the end of November. going over seas for 3 weeks in december and would love to have a working droid with me.
Let's see how the Droid Global really looks like and what it can really do. I would love to have a world phone and I do use the QWERTY, but if it's not a big leap between the Droid2 I'll just replace my OG Droid with a D2, although my OGD is holding really strong :^) . My OGD will be retired with military honors! :^)
Off subject…. how do I get a black notification bar on my droid x… I am rooted
You have to load a custom theme, and your phone has to be deodexed. The easiest way to do that is just to go here http://www.dev.droid-life.com/2010/09/28/928droid-releases-easy-deodoxodex-method-for-droidx/ and load that theme which deodexes your phone all in one go. Then if you don't like that one, you can go hunting for others, but it will take care of the black notification bar and it looks pretty good.
hmmm so is this the phone to get someone for the holidays? or should i wait a lil longer for christmas ?
