  • Calendr is a Nice Minimal Addition to Clockr

Our buddy Faruq, who has created some of the best Android apps on the planet like Helix Launcher and QuickDesk, is back with a new entry only this time into the minimalist world.  You are all familiar with Clockr, SimiClock, Minimalist Text, etc., but probably not Calendr.  Calendr will surely be the minimal option for those addicted to their Gmail calendars that always need to know what’s popping up next.

It’s definitely still in alpha and has zero options, but knowing the developer behind it, I’m sure it’ll be top notch in a short amount of time.  Grab the alpha below, or at least mark this one down in your reminder file.

    Download:  Calendr.apk

    Cheers Picolas!

  • DROID 2 Makes Rhapsody Appearance, DROID X at Video Game Awards

The Droid 2 is featured in a new Rhapsody commercial called “Awesomer” that actually is awesome.  The commercial is flat out silly, but when anyone uses the word “awesome” while referring to a Droid family member and then follows that up with the word “awesomer”, you’ve hooked us.  We enjoy simple fun and this commercial is just that.  Wait, does anyone use Rhapsody?   (more…)

  • Monday Poll: Best Android Text Messaging App?

We have a reader inspired poll today, that has to do with the best text messaging app.  In the past, people were either using Chomp or Handcent, but we’ve seen some new players recently like GO SMS and HelloTxt, so we’re wondering what people are still viewing as the best?  Are you using the stock app or something else?  Did we miss one on the list?  Let us know!

Update:  Forgot Google Voice!  Added to poll.

    Cheers Curtis!

  • Download: Quick Reboot for Rooted Devices

This app was created by Droid-Life’s good friend Rob0rz. We’re expecting to see a lot of neat work coming from him shortly including ROM’s, Apps, and Cats? After the jump we will post the link.

  • Video: Madden 2011 on Android Quick Look

As most of the Droid X owners out there know, the new 2.2.1 update brought Madden 2011 to Android, a game that so many of you have been waiting for over the last few months.  Well, we upgraded to the $9.99 full version to give those of you on the fence a chance to see the game in all its glory and to help you decide if this purchase is for you.  I will say that the game runs really well for being a mobile app and comes packed with almost every feature you could ask for in a Madden game.  They may have taken their sweet time releasing it and unfortunately only went with this one phone, but at first glance, they seem to have done a nice job.

Oh and the 7:13 mark is a chance for everyone to see me put on a clinic.   (more…)
