  • According to Samsung the Fascinate Already has Android 2.2

One of our readers dropped a link on us this morning from Samsung that clearly states in more than one place that their Fascinate should already  have Android 2.2 running on it.  In fact, their official site is filled with Froyo references, but without any sort of timeline for release, this does nothing except frustrate all Galaxy S owners.   (more…)

  • Download: Honeycomb Music Player from Google I/O

Hello Monday night treat!  XDA member johnnie93 somehow got his hands on what appears to be the Honeycomb music player that was featured last May at Google I/O.  It’s super colorful, appears to have streaming music features built in, and fits the “new UI” that is rumored to be coming with the next OS version.  If this is any indication of what we can expect with Android 3.0 (2.4?) then add me to the list of super excited people.  While this app isn’t fully working, you can see where Google is going with it and now we’ll just have to sit back and wait for this music service to be announced.  Awesome.   (more…)

  • HTC Thunderbolt 4G Sign-up Site is Live

The sign-up page for the HTC Thunderbolt 4G is available right now for those interested.  The device likely won’t be officially unveiled until next week at CES, but that hasn’t stopped HTC from teasing the world on an hourly basis.  This new landing page doesn’t give us much, but HTC continues to hint at this more than likely becoming the first 4G device on Verizon.

I just have one question for you though…will you buy this device if it’s the first 4G LTE device knowing that it doesn’t have a dual-core processor and there are 3-4 phones right behind that do?

  • Download: Gingerbread Theme for Stock Rooted DROID X Users

For those of you running the official 2.3.340 update for the Droid X and want to have a theme to get you as far away from that awful Blur skin as possible, then this is the post for you.  XDA member waremike32 released 3 themes to fit over top of a stock rooted DX and one of them will take you into the wonderful world of Gingerbread.  The instructions are fairly simple, but we’ll lay them out for those of you new to the game after the break.   (more…)

  • Dungeon Defenders Available on Android!

Dungeon Defenders, the first Unreal Engine game for Android, is available for purchase in the market for $2.99 (holiday sale) and according to early reports, is pretty stunning if you have a powerful enough phone.  DD is a 3D action-RPG/tower defense game that is clearly leading the way in the gaming department on mobile phones.  Our buddy Taylor, over at Android and Me took Dungeon Defenders for a quick spin this weekend and came away impressed.  For our serious gaming readers, this would be a good use of that X-mas money weighing down your wallet.   (more…)

  • Monday Poll: Thoughts on the Name HTC Thunderbolt 4G?

We’re almost positive that the new HTC 4G LTE device headed to Verizon in the coming weeks will be called the Thunderbolt 4G and now we want to know your thoughts on it.  There are varying opinions surrounding almost any new device name and this one in particular has had its fair share.  We’ve already seen names like Mecha, Incredible HD, Incredible 2, etc., but Thunderbolt 4G should be official next week.

So do we like it?  Should they have gone with one of the other rumored names?  Cheesy?  Thunderbolt 4G fitting?  Any other suggestions?

  • HTC Thunderbolt 4G Caught Posing in Ads

We first reported the nameThunderbolt” as a possibility for the new HTC 4G LTE device that many have been dubbing the Incredible HD and after seeing a link from some new HTC ads, we’re pretty sure that’s the name you’ll get when this puppy is unveiled next week.  The ad above was taking users to which clearly states the word “Thunderbolt” and more than likely will end up being “Thunderbolt 4G” a la the EVO 4G.  The name seems a little gimmicky, but who am I to judge smartphone names?

  • ADW Launcher EX Released with Window Animations, New Drawers, Tons of Enhancements

There are some other players in the launcher game these days, but when it all comes down to it, ADW Launcher and LauncherPro are still my first two choices.  And  guess what?  ADW just went “pro” with an EX version that in my opinion, brings it right up there with LP.  In this new EX, you’ll find a ton of enhancements, features and even some stuff that most of you have never seen before.  It will cost you $3.43, but you won’t be disappointed.   (more…)
