It’s nice to see people who are rich and famous getting something most normal people could never afford for free. That always warms the heart. After all, those celebrities are doing something REALLY IMPORTANT for society: they’re acting.

Motorola is giving them away for free to people who don’t even use them for a day, give it for free to schools, and boys and girls clubs, etc… places were they would really put them to use and learn something from it!!!

@Perry Meg – you hit the nail on the head “gives away free LUXURY items to the rich…”. They are just that… luxury items. Something the common man doesn’t need to try to get if it is a luxury item that cost just as much as his monthly mortgage payment.

The rich are getting richer because the people who can’t pay their mortgage are spending too much of their money trying to buy iphones and tech gadgets and paying huge monthly cell phone bills and fancy cars so they can be “cool” The rich people, who were smarter with their money OWN the companies, so the poor are giving their money to the rich.
As long as Gary Coleman gets one, I’ll be happy.

I need some help guys. I recently completed a contract and picked up an extra $2K. Naturally I’m going to do the responsible thing and put all my credit cards to zero with the payment. However, this now puts me in a position where I could be like some of you and get the XOOM tomorrow. I had resigned myself to NOT do this because a) didn’t have th money to do it now and b) it’s too high a price to pay for this no matter how good it seems. Logic and experience say wait a while for the price to come down. I”m supposed to be above being one of the ‘first’ to have the new stuff. Can my Droid Life family help me get back to logic and reason and resist the temptation to go right back into credit card debt by purchasing this device along with the rest of the bleeding edge crowd?
Easy answer… pay off any debt, save about $100 and take that lovely lady in your avatar to a nice night out. I’m sure that will be alot more rewarding than buying a tablet. If you have to ask, you dont really need something 😉
I’d say just wait. Probably best in the long run. Sure..you could easily own a powerful XOOM tomorrow, but hey, if you wait until this Summer or a few months after, your wallet could be thanking you for waiting because the now $799 XOOM price could be decreased to $599 with a two year contract. Ya never know. You should just wait.
I could probably use one of my credit cards to buy one tomorrow(I wish!) but I’ve decided to wait until I have real cash in hand before buying an XOOM, which will hopefully be this Summer.
Wait and save money. Or buy that oh-so-sweet tablet and be in debt once again. It’s your choice, your decision, your life.

the term the rich get richer is definitely true here. it sucks that when you’re millionaire you get stuff handed out to you. then when you’re a lower middle class guy like myself no one cuts you a break for nothing. its sickening to say the least.
