After working years of unsatisfying jobs in the medical and property management fields, he took a risk to try and create an online community while playing with the coolest gadgets on the planet each day, a risk that has turned out to be incredibly rewarding. Outside of Droid Life, Kellen is your typical Portlander who drinks way too much good beer, complains often about the Trail Blazers, and can be found out on the streets for a run, rain or shine.

    • Good idea…because its not like they would announce it some other way, but rather rely on USPS to send the flyer on the correct day to every city in America. hahaha

  • I’d have more respect for them if the just gave us SOMETHING. There’s no delay, I agree, they didn’t list a release date so I’m with that. I just think in light of the amateur way the information has been mishandled that they would come out and say for sure YOU”RE NOT GETTING IT IN MARCH or something more than the politicofascist bull they’ve feeding us. Hell, I’d be happy with a straight up “Go F8cK Yourself, we’ll release when we release” at this point.

  • By the time this phone finally comes out, it will have somewhat fizzled in the minds of a good majority. That, and the fact that by then it will be obsolete. 🙂

    • Yep. Dead on Arrival. If they were smart they would release it with 3G capabilities for the time being to lock people into this phone. As it stands each day is another one closer to something bigger and better. *cough* CTIA *cough*

  • Ipad 2 was JUST announced on Verizon wireless website to be released on Friday. Hopefully the THUNDERBOLT is coming soon too!

  • Kellex, now that you’ve had the Xoom for a while now, if I had to choose between 1) a Xoom and a free Droid X or Dinc vs. 2) a Thunderbolt with no Xoom, what would you go with?

  • HTC Thunderbolt site was up and live December 27th. “Comming Soon”. Ha ha, It’s not an “announcement” or “release date” but c’mon. Gotta be one of two answers:
    1) The problems with this device are really really bad- hence the non-communication from Verizon
    2) Stalling for iphone/ipad sales or LTE new pricing roll-out.

    Either way HTC and the customers being dragged around waiting for this device lose I think. Bad Verizon.

  • Verizon is just pathetic bastard crapy junk communication company. They screwed BestBuy, HTC and their customers. They owe us real statements instead of their CFO laying to everyone saying we said end of 2nd qtr. And we all know at CES they clearly said March. I hope they (Verizon) crash and burn.

  • Fix your dang site! I’m about over waiting for all the ads to load. It’s been weeks! Love your site but this is sad that this has been delayed so long……..kinda like the Thunderbolt delay….that you enjoy trashing so much. Time is up!

    • Maybe it’s your slow Service Provider, or maybe you need to fork over the money to get better service and get off that dial up service because I don’t have a problem bring up this site. Just sayin

    • I would never trust a Leprechaun. With our luck we’d be promised a Thunderbolt, but tricked into an iphone4.

  • I gave up and Grabbed the Droid X….Droid all the way! My hubby has an upgrade in July so Im gonna use his and get the Bionic and he said he’ll take my X. I have 4 faceplates for the Thunderbolt if anyone wants them??? There girly and blingy but I’ll be more then willing to part with them…If Kellex dosent mind I’ll leave my E-mail address… momto7blessings@gmail.com.. :o)

  • My sister just bought a VZW iPhone today.. she was asking about the Thunderbolt, and she said the sales rep there told her that they’re not supposed to say anything yet, because it just happened today, but since she was getting a diff. phone anyway it didn’t matter – they just got confirmation today that the Thunderbolt is a-go “within a week”.. so I’m assuming that’s Tuesday the 15th.

    I take this with a grain of salt, as all “insider sources” and “heard it from a sales rep” bits tend to end up being bullshit, but I’m just relaying what the guy told my sister. Whether he’s full of shit or not, we’ll see.

  • Wait, you guys dont have one???? I just picked mine up, my service is bad because apparently im holding it wrong. At least thats what Charlie Sheen told me. (He got a job as a verizon sales tech because he lost his other job)

  • The ad seems fake to me. Read that sentence at the bottom… clearly didn’t go through Verizon’s marketing team: “Tell us, where you work?”

    Is that a question or a statement?

  • So…I got off the phone with customer service at Verizon and they said that Best Buy will have the exclusive rights to sell the phone first. It will begin either tmrw or next Thursday. This is an exclusive contract that Best Buy signed with HTC. So if anyone wants the phone…Best Buy is where you will get it first.

    • I don’t care what people say, Verizon will be selling the phone the same time they release it to best buy. There’s no way in h*ll Verizon is going to give up the right to sell their own phone.

And Get a Discount on your monthly Bill.” I think there should be a ‘do’ in there somewhere and what’s with the odd capitalization. There’s more than that wrong with it but I don’t want to sound like a grammar Nazi. Hell, I only have a HS education and can write better than that.

  • I did a preorder or a Thunderbolt and it said ETA 03/10/11. My guess is something is coming tomorrow.

    This is an ad from one of thousands of retailers and not corporate stores. They are as about as knowledgable on the topic as my puggle. Way to fuel the HYPEBEAST….

    • Hey moron I happen to find this statement to be ignorant on your behalf.
      Because of comments like yours others think that agents are not knowledgeable and you drive business away from their stores and stop putting food on the table for their families.
      I would rather support a local business and my town first; it makes sense if you actually have an ounce of decency in your body.
      What would you do if tomorrow your company (if you even have a job) closed because people no longer shopped their due to one bad comment or remark?
      Where I live the reps at the store are a lot more help and don’t treat you as a number.

      So look at all factors of an equation before you open your mouth and spit out distain.

        First of all, I work for a privately owned company, so I understand the importance of customer relations and their value to our survival. Second of all, a personal friend owns a Verizon retailer chain, which I vehemently support as I purchase a new phone without contract almost every 6 months. When I purchased my Droid X, he literally had no idea when he was getting it until the units he ordered arrived at his store. My comment was not a reflection of any agents or retailer locations or corporate stores, but a general expression of frustration on behalf of a consumer among many others who are in possession of month old pre-orders and not the first LTE phone. Hell, I don’t think anyone actually knows when the phone will be out. I actually wholeheartedly agree that retailer reps are generally more amiable and cooperative than corporate agents, but that’s neither here nor there- point is, this is a forum- where everyone’s got an opinion, and not always the same as yours. But it’s okay, I don’t think less of you for ASSuming you understood my statement, but I don’t appreciate being insulted for expressing myself on a forum.

        Nice try, though.

  • VZW thought they would have it out by now. My friend who works a VZW corporate said they received an email the other day congratulating the company on a successful release of the Thunderbolt on the Feb 28th.
