  • I went to my local verizon store yesterday & got my thunderbolt & i’ve only had to charge it ONCE… i’ve been using it all day today and all day yesterday and right now its at 50%. I don’t think the battery life sucks. I had droid X & I had to charge it every 5 hours. & I’m not going to get the dock bc like other people have said it has a KICKSTAND

  • This is such BS…there would be no need for this if the charging port wasn’t inaccessible when using the kickstand. And I guarantee that was no design mistake….they did it so you’re forced to buy this overpriced dock if you want to also be able to charge it while sitting upright.

  • Wont be getting this but I will say.. Why does everyone think this phone is expensive just because its the most expensive android phone means nothing…A 32 GB I*phone is 300 so the price is acceptable to me.

  • Pricey but I LOVE just slapping my OG droid into the dock on my desk while at work. Keeps it charged, keeps it rocking.

    • It better have hdmi out or there is no point. It already has a kickstand you can just plug it in and set it on the stand.

  • P.S….you guys all know why battery life sucks? well probably because no one ever actually charges the battery fully! for 12 hours BEFORE you use it…..its probably incase because most people don’t do that….my friends incredible outlasts my droid x with 20 apps running on each……his lasts for more than a day…..no extended battery…

      thats like saying my new car gets horrible gas mileage but i only filled the tank up half way…

  • Ok for one, 60 bucks is way too much to steal from loyal customers. The Droid and DX docks are about 40.

    • Yeeeah, the dock I have for my Droid I think is considered a “multimedia dock”. It is the one VZW sold. And I love it…at $30..not $60…that is getting a bit rich for my blood.

    • Try 30 bucks at first then as Verizon noticed that these Docks were not selling because there;s an APP FOR THAT to toggle dock mode. Verizon were giving those docks away as part of accessory packages and whatever else they could hand out. I picked up two for $10 bucks.

  • I was psyched to upgrade to LTE, but I went into Verizon today and found out that there won’t be LTE in my neighborhood for another 12 to 18 months. I live in CT, just across the NY border, so I’m about 5 miles away from getting LTE service. But it’s sort of a bummer, and to me, it doesn’t seem like I should be in any rush to get a new phone if I can’t use the LTE… ;(

    • i would do it anyway, just so you’re locked into the unlimited 4G, just in case, and get the 1 year contract. It is the same price as unlimited 3G

      • Greenwich. This is just what the guy told me in the store, but I doubt he knows for sure. If you take a look at the coverage map on Verizon’s web site, it looks like 4G coverage ends right on the western edge of Greenwich, along the NY border

  • Docking station..Pass. Who needs a docking station. I’m just fine charging my phone with the mini usb provided. Do people really see a use for this? Beside HDMI out. I mean C’mon!

    • I use mine(Droid version) for an alarm clock. It dims to just show the time and alarm time. Plus I have tasker turn of the ringer when it is on the dock in between 10pm and 7am..I’d have no use for HDMI with DLNA. But like I said in my previous post. $60 for a charger is not OK. I’ll buy a business card holder at Office Depot for $4 and plop my phone in it.

        Or just use the kickstand like Joe mentioned. I really think that kickstand is gonna come in handy.

        • Unfortunately, you can’t use the kickstand and charge it at the same time, because the charging port is opposite of the kickstand, meaning when you’re using the kick, the port is in the bottom and you can’t charge it.

    • Sounds like your being a troll! A plus of phones with removable batteries is just that, being able to switch batteries and you need a way to charge your spare battery. DUMB!

    • I was actually thinking the same thing, not sure why you’re being labelled a troll there. If you need a spare battery for your mobile phone to last all day then they need to put an asterisk next to the word mobile. Now having said that I’ll wait for the performance numbers to come out before saying that applies to the TB.
