Tim

Stumbling upon Droid Life randomly after purchasing a Motorola DROID in late 2009, then setting out to learn everything he could about Android, Tim quickly became an integral part of the site's comment section. After quite some time of strictly commenting on Droid Life, Tim was offered an opportunity to write feature stories for the site, such as custom ROM overviews, as well as interviews with Android community members. Following success of those, Tim became a full time writer and editor for Droid Life, now spending his time on news articles, device reviews, producing videos, and much more. Tim currently resides in Portland, OR with his longtime girlfriend and two wonderful dog children (Loki & Thor). In his spare time, Tim enjoys playing guitar, drinking coffee, practicing photography, and destroying kids on Call of Duty.

  • If it’s easily unlockable and ever comes to Verizon I think this could be my next phone. I’m impressed.

  • I dig these phones. Nice work sony keep the bootloader unlocked, screen controls, bottom connectivity and i say you have a solid hitter.

  • Rounded rectangles.. another iphone copycat. Why can’t android innovate and stop ripping off apple on everything. 😛

  • Coolest thing about this to me?

Water resistance. Can’t wait for that to be widespread!

  • nope, sony gets none of my money, sorry sony, and i realize all of there divisions are not the same but sony is sony, and they get no more of my money

  • I’m really intrigued by the design and specs of these phones. Sure, they’re just dual core, but I’m still sitting here with my Droid X. It’s going to be a really interesting Q3 and Q4

  • Only dual core on these phones? Meh, that’s last year’s tech. I would like to know the RAM on that tablet though. Probably only 1gb, which is why they didn’t mention it.

  • I’m just guessing but these aren’t part of the Nexus program. I’m curious about the camera performance though

    • The new sensors probably won’t be in devices until the end of the year or early next. Atleast tthat’s what i read. I’m interested in the idea of a Sony nexus. Not interested in a Samsung nexus, they had the last 2 and I think everyone can agree they cut a few corners. Still love my gnex but it could have been better.

      • I completely agree that Samsung did a great job with the Nexus, but there are a handful of things it doesn’t have that I wish it did. I’m getting tired of these “top tiered” phones always lacking in one area or another. I hate to say it, Apple has done one thing right and it is designing a phone with the best tech out there. That is what I want in my next Android phone.

  • Oh god not pinch to zoom. Please for the love of god, not pinch to zoom. What are you doing?!
