Kellen

It’s not often that you get to merge personal passions into a professional life, but that’s what Kellen did when he launched Droid Life in 2009. After working years of unsatisfying jobs in the medical and property management fields, he took a risk to try and create an online community while playing with the coolest gadgets on the planet each day, a risk that has turned out to be incredibly rewarding. Outside of Droid Life, Kellen is your typical Portlander who drinks way too much good beer, complains often about the Trail Blazers, and can be found out on the streets for a run, rain or shine.

  • You know that’s just stupid. What has our culture come to when advertisers have to inject sex into everything. Is nothing sacred or innocent anymore. The whole idea of this particular video is just repugnant. And all these morons saying “That’s Great” and the like. Have they no shame? Christmas is supposed to be a season about peace and love. About recognizing the birth of Jesus. Yes it has morphed into much more but where is the line we don’t cross. It seems that people especially young people today have no sense of decency or respect for traditions. This video is just disgusting. And those of you who don’t agree don’t bother flaming because I won’t be reading it. If you dissagree then you are obviously morally challenged with an infantile personality.

    • If you believe in such fairy tales as Jesus, you should know by the stories that he was not born in December. Christmas is nothing more than a made up holiday for retailers. Get over yourself.

    • too bad Jesus wasn’t born in December. Christmas is now about two things, santa, and Jesus. For the non catholics, its santa and this is 100% acceptable to them.

  • They forgot to include the boobie squeeze from the end of the original. Yeah, you know that’s what he’s doing.

  • Sharing videos of wizard sleeves and old balls is nazzzzty! Vom For Xmas. Don’t even get me going on the candy canes being used in all the wrong ways…

  • The fact that they did a remake of the same stupid commercial, shows that have a lack of imagination. Second, the only way you can share videos that fast with NFC, is if it’s a 2 second clip. For any video over 1 minute long, it takes over a minute to share. Falsified.

    • The phones don’t need to continue touching after the initial tap, they just need to be within wifi’s reach, and Santa was within reach long enough for about a minute-long clip to download.

  • What I am most amazed at is the iPhone users who I run into who think the commercials making fun of iPhone users who wait in line as funny. To me it is counter intuitive that iPhone users (even these not hard core ones) would relate and actually talk about how they wish they had some of the S3 features and size.

Clearly their marketing is going after the general public and its working.

  • It should have ended with Mrs. Clause saying “But Mrs. Clause has been naughty, not nice.”

    • radios are only a problem on crappy cdma carriers. no problems on gsm. i never hear radio problems on tmobile but go on something like droid life and boom radios are a big topic

      • Are you kidding? CDMA > GSM when it comes to voice calls!! Any day of the week, month or century. AT&T is the home of the dropped call…

        • I’m on t mobile and I’ve never had any dropped calls plus with gsm u get REAL nexus devices and let me tell u this nexus 4 is a f*cking beautiful awesome phone. Also who makes phone calls these days. Call quality does not matter to me since I mostly text

  • Awful. And it becomes worse after a moment’s thought. Exactly where is Santa going to “watch” this little adult video if not in his sleigh? The unfortunate answer — in the house of some unsuspecting, sleeping family. Skeevy and unfunny. Could have been funny if we saw the Jolly Big Guy watching the video over milk and cookies, and it turned out to be something holiday-related (e.g., the Santa Clause movie?) that he gets absurdly enthusiastic about.

  • The first time it was cute. This time it’s just creepy. Not because they’re not young, but because it’s Santa!

  • This video is actually a little creepy, in a low budget knock-off of the original kind of way. Oh, and also I never want to think about seniors getting jiggy with it.

  • wish they would have gotten a little more creative with this. it is the same exact commercial except with a few words changed (elfs, santa, sleigh) i could have come up with that.

and its a little less of an awesome feature when you are showing 2 older, unattractive people. even if one does bring us awesome stuff every year 🙂
