LG G2 Drops to $49 On-contract at Verizon Until November 11 (Whoa: $199 Off-contract at Amazon?)

lg g2 sale

Update:  Forget Verizon for a minute, Amazon is listing the LG G2 as being $199 OFF-contract. Yes, that’s $199 for one of the best phones of the year without a contract. I’d imagine it’s a mistake, but hey, might be worth attempting to buy. (Edit:  AT&T Black G2 is $199 off-contract as well.)

Update 2: Amazon has corrected the pricing. If you got in on the deal, now we wait to see if anyone’s orders ship.

Update 3: Since the Amazon deal is dead, feel free to use coupon code “slick50” during checkout at Verizon to get the phone for free on-contract.

Update 4: Folks are pouring in saying that their devices are shipping from Amazon. That’s great to hear, and we are excited Amazon decided to honor these deals. If your order was canceled, feel free to call them and state the situation. Some are reporting that they are reinstating orders now.

Who here has a new device on its way?

If you thought yesterday’s Moto X price cut to $99 at Verizon was a good deal, take a look at the new LG G2 price. How does $49.99 on-contract sound for one of the year’s best phones? As you know, we reviewed the G2 and had very few negative things to say about it. It has a class-leading full HD display, powerful Snapdragon 800 processor, great mobile camera, amazing battery life, and all sorts of productivity tools that are actually useful. It’s easily LG’s best work yet, and is probably one of the reasons we were all so excited for the Nexus 5 to arrive, since it’s loosely based on the G2.

So the deal is, the LG G2 is $49.99 on-contract from today until November 11. Yes, you only have a few days to get in on this deal action. If you want to buy the phone off-contract, you are looking at $449, which if I’m being honest, is one hell of a deal as well. Most phones this good tend to retail at around $599.

Get to it, if you were looking for a new phone that is.

  • So as with everyone else, I jumped on this deal and bought a VZ GS4 and sold it to a friend of mine who broke his for $300 about 3 weeks ago. I made a little and he got a good deal.

Well now I was an idiot and got my phone wet and it is gone. I wanted to see if someone is willing to sell me a phone, GS4, Moto X, LG G2 for around the same price. If interested in the excellent karma you will be receiving, please let me know 🙂 .

  • i got my lg g2 for FREE from verizon with a 2 year contract. this is NOT spam. if you’re considering buying 1? ask for the promo code. i don’t remember what it was now? i was chatting with a customer service rep when the lg g2 was $49.99 & he said he could get it for me for free. so make sure you ask if there’s a promo code. i love the phone! especially because i got it for free.

  • I did get my G2 for FREE from Verizon on Sunday, and have been very pleased! Even my teenage son says that someone finally built a non-Apple phone that looks high-end and cool. I last unplugged my phone from the charger 28 hours ago, and I have 43% remaining! I have used social media, taken videos, been on wi-fi about two-thirds of the time, watched YouTube, read Flipboard, streamed a few songs from my Play account, plus the usual phone calls, texts, and email activity. Brightness is set at 60% and vibrate on about 50% of my notifications. Amazing battery life. A good deal at $149, I should be locked-up at $0.

  • My phones have shipped ! Free Shipping for me.

Recap: 2 LG G2 on Verizon were cancelled. 2 LG G2 on AT&T went through . and 2 Moto X on VZW went through

    • What was the off-contract deal for the Moto X? I missed that one. I did end up getting (2) GS3s, which should arrive in the next hour or so.

        • Exactly. I’m hoping many others didn’t see the deal and I won’t be affected adversely with the excess supply of LG G2’s. I am thinking that I will return my N5 and keep my LG G2; one for a gift and one for my daily driver. The batter life is insane and kit kat is coming later this month or next on it.

  • My LG G2s came in safe and sound on Saturday. I am liking the phone a lot. My only issue is that the knock-on does not work every time and the back buttons are hard to adjust to. I can’t tell yet just by feeling if I am pushing the Volume Up or the power button. Something I was afraid of since the Verizon version is different than all the other version.s

  • Bought myself a G2 on contract using the above code for FREE. THANKS DL!! It’s not a Nexus but I’m pretty damn happy. Hoping LG/Verizon gets Kit Kat soon. If not, I’m already rooted and the bootloader is bypassed waiting for a ROM.

    • Same here…Ah well. Still a good deal. My wife currently has a 8gb iPhone 4 so she’ll be extremely happy haha. I think anyways.

    • Tied, yes, but not totally ready to be put out to pasture just yet. The S3 is getting 4.3 later this month or in Dec and unofficial support/development should continue for a long time thereafter. And don’t forget there are probably more third party accessories for that phone than anything out there not made by Apple.

      • Agreed, but I already had one for over a year, just switched to GS4 last week, bought on Craigslist. Wife still has one, and giving my daughter my old one. Definitely still plenty capable, but a GS4 or Note 3 would have been a better grab.

  • Not even gonna read this. Bought mine off contract way back when it was shiny (lol, well still is but..)..Bye!

  • Guys im on the line with a guy from amazon, He doesnt think anyone else got there phones? He wants a email of someone that got theirs so that I can get the same price. Can anyone help me out. Thx

    • I was one of them, bud. That’s what I was told by Amazon when I tried to reinstate my order for the S4. Actually that’s what several people were told. I’m sure some were just trolling, but don’t think everyone is full of it. I was worried when I was told that because I had an S3 on order. It came in today though.

      • Yes!

Your package with LG G2, Black (Verizon Wireless) is on a carrier vehicle and should be delivered today.

      • i know amazon was saying that so you could not argue with them but im glad everybody is getting their orders!!!!! that was for sure one of the best deals of the year only losing to the walmart fiasco…

  • Swappa is getting over run with people hot sell. Just bought a G2 for $420 cheaper than anywhere else.

  • Hey guys,
Quick question: My Lg G2 for Att is due to arrive today…any chance I can make this work on Verizon?
    Thanks

  • *If you look at the end of this article under “Via” you see “Cheers Louis and R!, Louis that’s me!
How it all happened, I had woke up early Thursday morning to find that the LG G2 was on sale from Verizon with an off-contract (unlimited data) price of $449.99, I had been looking at this phone for my daughter’s birthday which is on 11 Nov, I was just hoping for a promo code or discount before I made the purchase at $549.99 before taxes, but low and behold a $100 discount. I made the purchase and I immediately contacted Droid Life about this great offer, about an hour or half hour before 7:00am, I then started to play GTA 4 online. Something told me to check back on DL to see if it had been reported yet, it was and I started to read comments and such about Amazon offering these phones off contract for these unbelievable prices, It probably took another ten minutes to register in my mind that I needed to get on Amazon and check this out, it was true of course. I figured 2 LG G2s and 1 Samsung Note 3 would be awesome at those prices and I couldn’t afford much more.
Well, I guess I should thank Droid Life for my good fortune, my Note 3 ($323.99) made to my house this morning early, which surprised me because I was expecting a late delivery or not at all. FedEx tracking was behind the whole time. Now the two LG G2s that I had ordered on a different order at around 7:00am – 7:30am that morning were cancelled, “bummer”, but that was my fault cause when I put them in the cart they were in stock, then I figured I need to have protective cases for them, so I start looking for cases, found the ones I wanted, which I guess took about ten minutes, went to check out and they were no longer in stock, but it took my order and put it on backorder, put a pending charge on my cc and then later cancelled. Congrats to all that got to take advantage of this tremendous opportunity save money on these expensive phones and to those that were able to get extras to make a profit (I will not hate on them because I wanted to sell my extra LG G2 also for a modest profit.). To those that didn’t, I hope there is another glitch soon, whether it be from Amazon or Verizon, these phones that we want and love are so expensive and I think most people deserve a break, let’s keep our eyes open and if you find a amazing deal please contact Droid Life. Cheers!

  • Was able to get a Galaxy Note 3 on VZW for $272. Decided to open up an amazon credit card and they gave me an additional $50 off and I figured they wouldn’t cancel my order cause of the credit card.

        • Hopefully they ship or don’t send an email requiring a new contract or something. There is nothing about a contract on the description though. I ordered 1 white and 2 black.

          • After the Amazon craziness I bet you’ve got a good shot. Did you do next day air? My wife saw me ordering some and shut me down. I guess she doesn’t like profit. My Amazon order should hold me over though.

      • It’s out for delivery. I really can’t believe they let it leave the warehouse. I think Amazon handled this pretty well (other than telling some of us the reroute nonsense). Sounds like everyone who got charged is getting a phone for the most part.

    • They still haven’t cancelled my order yet! Maybe they will ship them! And they figured out this glitch by the way about 2 or 3 hours after.

  • Anyone intersted in a verizon note 3 for 600? Gonna post on swappa but figured id offer here first.

  • Hell yes just refreshed my ups tracking and it arrived in PA shipping says one more day extremely excited.

  • I have two LG G2s coming tomorrow. I am going to keep mine but if someone wants to trade the 2nd LG G2 for a Moto X let me know. Wife likes her Nexus and she wants to keep on as vanilla Android as possible. Thanks! Oh and Verizon only

    • if all works out here, i have a white verizon moto x coming. i could be interested in a trade assuming the wifey doesn’t want to swap her black one for it.

        • if you knew of a convincing way to swap these so that neither of us has the chance of being screwed by the other, i’d be open to it. big risk to just drop in the mail to someone i don’t know though. if you want to take offline leave your email. located anywhere in the ny/nj area?

  • Have a couple G2s coming Monday, would like to trade for Note 3s. Shoot me an email if you are interested. A like new used Note 3 might be acceptable too

  • Verizon G2 in hand, anyone in So Cal interested? $350 or better offer, if you want it shipped that will be extra as well.

  • Has anybody had their package shipped and in some location or another and an email saying their money was refunded at the same time?

  • still farking sitting on Shipping Now. no cancellation, card was charged. says it’ll be here monday, so i’ll have to bite my nails and twittle my thumbs till then. again, congrats to everyone who has theirs in hand. 😀

  • To everybody that had tracking and 2 day shipping with their package sitting in Memphis,TN, my package has moved to Newark, NJ….it’s coming

  • Man, I have to stop coming back to this post. Makes me even more sad that my G2 was cancelled. Congrats to those that got theirs!

    • I was informed by Verizon that Amazon has put a hold on all phones that were erroneously shipped as a result of this glitch. Said phones will have a remote lock placed on them by Verizon per Amazon’s request and will self destruct….

      • I came for the G2 but it was backordered by the time I got to the post. Someone had just posted the Note 3, which is the phone I’ve been wanting since its release. Jumped on that, and thought “I wonder if it’s effecting the GS4?” It was, hah

  • Update: My package just arrived at the FedEx SmartPost here in Denver!! Delivery is not until Tuesday though (I did pick 3-5 day shipping), but I’ll take it. Wish I knew exactly where… I’d drive there myself. Knowing it didn’t go back to Memphis though, I have faith 🙂

    • Curious as to why you chose 3-5 day shipping when 2-day was free? It was for me at least and I’m not a Prime member.

      • I was eager to hit Purchase before I checked where the default shipping radio button was. The G2 stock was dwindling fast. Who knows, maybe I’ll get it tomorrow.

    • Congrats! I’m still stuck at “Shipping Now”. I would assume I’ll know this evening whether I’m getting it or not since its supposed to be here tomorrow.

  • Got my AT&T G2, weird thing is there is an included sim card. Why did they include one?

    • if i get my g2(hopefully will have it on monday) i’d be willing to trade.. email me if really interested and we’ll stay in touch.

  • Anyone know anything about ups? My shipment is coming from them so all the FedEx calls wont help me.

  • I’m just a Junior in High School but i’ll gladly represent any of you that didn’t get the phone in court. Will hold your hand as you cry and tell me the story. The story of you being mad that you didn’t get away with stealing from Amazon, but other people did. It’s just not fair that you didn’t get the phone. I’ll be there for you.

    • At least for me it is the fact that some people did get their orders. Even with overnight shipping Amazon has the power to stop all orders in their system before they even leave Amazon. I’m mostly just bitter that i’m not in the 1%.

  • Mine just arrived – no packing slip.
Prime 2 day shipping, yet it got to TN from Lexington KY overnight.

    • I just got off the phone with FedEx and they said my phone should be delivered by 4:30 tomorrow. It has not been delayed, no mention of reroutes, or amazon in general.

      • Mike, lets hope so! I am always cautious of calling places because it might inform them of a situation or get my hopes down.

    • Honestly I am a huge mail order /amazon / newegg / ebay user. I have ordered hundreds of items. I struggle to think of one missed or lost package. Kind of amazing when you think of the pure volumes

  • Same bs story.Spoke to everyone at Amazon wireless.Claim no one received theirs and they were recalled.Next step is a letter to Amazon corporate a complaint to the FTC and the BBB.I have also emailed this to the Money section of the news websites.Walmart made the news for their pricing error Amazon needs to looked at as well.

    • So you are going to go cry and make a big deal about you not getting a phone. Sorry you weren’t lucky enough.

    • Amazon had a pricing error and some folks got a deal – GREAT. good for them. But to have such hatred to Amazion because they clearly had a glitch is rediculous. Complain to FTC? BBB? Money section of new sites? Why? It was a mistake. why the need to act like they owe you something? They don’t.

  • Here is the thing amazon could have bought these phones back from us at retail and not lost any money. Thats why im frustrated they could have not lost money and honored the price but they went to default mode, “we can’t honor the pirce”

    • Thats the dumbest thing i have ever heard. Why not get your lawyer involved? sue them for not letting you steal from them!

    • That makes no sense. How would they not lose any money? Let’s think this out – lets say these phones cost Amazon $300 to get from manufactor. They have now spend $300. now you want them to buy it back at for example the $650 Retail price. So they can sell it at the $650 Retail price? So they have spent $950 to make $650 and your $199 purchase – so $850 and a $100 loss…. That is the SAME $100 loss they would take anyway (the $300 they spent – the $200 you gave them). Why would they do all of this just to take the same loss. Plus the fact, honestly, they don’t have the systems and processes to handle this.

  • My G2 I ordered says it has been delivered, will wait and see when I get home. Did Prime 2 Day but I live near the warehouse where it shipped out of.
    Will update…

  • Just got off the phone with FEDEX to find out why my package has not left Memphis, TN. The rep said that Amazon ordered a massive reroute yesterday to their main hub in TN. So if your phone shows it is in Memphis like mine you are SOL. the only people that are getting phones are people that did overnight and slipped through. All amazon prime shipments got rerouted to Memphis. Not happy

      • John you clearly got luck and got overnight instead of two day prime. If you had two day prime it would be delivered tomorrow. I’m glad yours got pushed up but this doesn’t really apply for you if it says out for delivery. This is referring to anyone’s package that is sitting in Memphis Tn

    • mine was two-day amazon prime, and was just delivered. I live relatively close to the amazon distribution center though.

    • this is bs i’ve been working with FedEx for a while now and they usually do that.
seems like someone is fustraded because they missed the deal…

      • Sorry but i did not miss the deal. I have a note 3 sitting in Memphis Tn since 556am. I do not care if you believe me or not i was just sharing the information that i received when i called. I would not be bitter or frustrated if everyone else got their phone. But way to jump to conclusion about people

        • these orders will be there until tonight around 8-9pm that’s when they will start going to their destination via air

    • I hope you are wrong and Memphis is their main distribution hub to the east coast.. Mine shipped from Phoenix and is now in Memphis.

    • This is definitely BS. My Note 3 was in Memphis for nearly 12 hours yesterday and guess what? It just got delivered today. I hate when people spread false information.

  • Got 1 VZW White S4 out for delivery, anxiously waiting for Mr. Brown… I had ordered one other after the rush and that order was cancelled. Sooo…
I HAVE $300 (plus like $7-9 for shipping) TO OFFER FOR ANOTHER WHITE VZW S4 – ANY TAKERS? We can work a deal via Swappa or something like that? Reply here, then we can exchange contacts… THX!!

      • /sigh… Sorry man, 300 is my top offer, which gives a tidy $100 profit over the $199 anyone who was fortunate enough to score paid for it on this deal… Good Luck, just the same, and Thx for the response!

  • Has anyone who’s done the 2 day shipping seen any progress from the carrier? My package has been sitting in TN for a long time now. Has me a bit worried that Amazon may be pulling these back. Just want my G2!

    • agreed i have “Package has left seller facility and is in transit to carrier – November 7, 2013 4:52:34 AM” on my g2

      • that doesn’t really even make any sense.. that would’ve been well before the glitch happened, in any time zone. weird?

          • try taking the tracking # and going to the carrier’s website and track it there. i can get more info on mine at fedex itself. not anything more helpful really, but amazon is one step behind on one of my packages.

my one has some weird times in the beginning of it too. and a few other packages lately have had weird tracking info on amazon..

          • i posted what the ups tracking says all i have right now is the shipping label nothing more.

    • I will be receiving one later today. I probably will be asking for more than $300. I’d like to try to cover the cost of the one I bought for my wife. Also, to compensate me for this emotional roller coaster….

      • The most I’d do would be $300+shipping just so I can sell my note ii for the same basically.

        Please anyone?

  • Success through the verizon store getting the phone for the on contract price and keeping my unlimited data. I transferred the upgrade on my unlimited line to another line on my family plan that has limited data and was able to keep the unlimited on the 3 other lines and pay 75 bucks for a 450 or 500 dollar phone. Order has shipped. Pretty excited to finally have a new android device that sounds pretty impressive.

  • Does anyone have a VZW G2 they got and would like to share their order number? I was speaking with a CSR and she said she didn’t know details of other orders so she couldn’t help, when I asked why mine was cancelled and others got theirs. So it would be nice to give them an order number so they can compare.

  • alright, i really gotta get back to work.. for real.. haha. we need some kind of bat signal here for these multiple-day disqus threads.

    • really. that’s interesting. why the hell would they cancel a bunch yesterday and still ship some today..

          • my kids love it. I also love that I can drop it off the roof and she keeps on kicking. seriously, it’s the most solid phone ever made, I’ll give it that.

          • not to mention, it has the best speaker ever, hence why I use it while farting around the house (and dropped it off the roof).

        • Seems like the people that wanted a new phone to actually use got cancelled while the people buying to turn around and sell got their phones.

          • I got 2 phones for my kids since they always seem to get the hand me downs from me. I thought it would be a nice Christmas present. My order got cancelled within 2 hours. My husband got one for himself and his went through. It should be here before 5. It’s just rotten how Amazon has handled this whole thing.

      • The ones that were canceled were back-ordered. It appears that if you got to the shipping stage, you get the phone. I’m remiss to say “if you got charged you get it”

  • Alright. Well I was going to wait this out and see what 2014 brings, but a free G2 is pretty hard to pass up. I might upgrade this weekend. If it’s free, I’ll feel less crappy if new device comes out in six months. The only things better than a G2 at this point would be a GS5 or a Verizon Nexus 5. I think I can live with a free G2 vs a GS5 and if Verizon decides to carry the Nexus5 i can just save up for it off contract. It’s nearly a win-win.

    • The G2 is top of the line right now. Even if something “better” comes out, that phone will be beast for a while.

      • Exactly. I was really itching to wait for the GS5, but it’ll be what… 10-15% better than the G2? All Samsung needs to do is meet or beat the G2 by a little bit and I think that’s exactly what they’ll do. I doubt they’ll have anything above an S800. They might do 3GB of RAM, but that’s not a major deal over 2GB over the next two years of tech. They might bump the screen, but I doubt it’ll be any larger than the G2’s. An SD Card slot and removable battery would be nice, but again I can get the G2 for free and these are relatively minor details.

I might by blinded by the bang-for-buck aspect here, but I’m having a hard time finding a reason not to get a G2. The only other “better” phone I can think of is a potential Verizon Nexus 5 and that could be bought off contract and I’m still left with a free G2 as a backup. Damn. I think I just made up my mind…

        • I wouldn’t count on a Verizon N5, considering the N4 didn’t come either. Until Verizon has full VoLTE, you won’t be able to use a phone like that on their network. Even then, they can hold it up in “certification” like they did with the N72013 LTE. Verizon has their ways.

          • “Potential” Verizon Nexus 5. True, but it’s really the only other appealing thing I can think of and it still doesn’t void my theory. Theoretical or not, that’s all I’m saying here. 🙂

  • If anyone in the Tri-state picked up an extra white verizon moto x, let me know. I’d like to buy it.

    So jealous of all you.

  • woudl anybody be willing to sell me a note 3 for verizon at $100 over cost? please?

    • I’m in the same boat for a VZW G2 $300. Will keep the gnexus if can’t find one for that or cheaper.

    • Has anyone gotten anything other that a Samsung phone? All I am seeing here is Samsung devices. Perhaps they decided to split the loss with Amazon?

      • Remember the report that GS4 sales had underwhelmed Samsung’s expectations a bit? I honestly was expecting a price drop/heavy on-contract pricing promos/new colors to juice up GS4 sales between now and the arrival of the GS5 next year…but this was just an old-fashioned glitch! No way they’d be selling their hottest phones like this otherwise.

VZW selling handsets off-contract for cheap is rare but it does happen on occasion. I do remember when VZW cleared out a bunch of refurb 32GB GNexii last fall on Ebay and the year before I think they unloaded a bunch of Palm Pre Plus & Pixi handsets when HP pulled the plug on Palm.

  • I think we are all over-reacting. I’m pretty sure by Tuesday’s end, we’ll all have our phones if we’ve been already billed. They caught some orders before they could be billed and didn’t ship those. These conflicting reports between different Customer Service Reps are ridiculous. They are telling people different things. You would think Amazon would have sent an email or put out some kind of notification on their site. There is no way they are going to charge us more since we already paid what was advertised….snafu or not. (Yes, many of us know it was a snafu, but what about anyone else that legitimately thought the prices were legit, that maybe it was some kind of early Black Friday sale) Could they reroute or charge the difference? Probably…will they?…probably not. Orders are arriving at doorsteps as we speak. I picked the 3-5 day standard shipping (rushed to get it before they ran out…) and my order is still on it’s way. Pretty much, if your card got charged, you are good to go. We are losing our minds watching the shipping info update. Just relax, go about your day and be pleasantly surprised when it hits your doorstep.

    • Has your order shipped yet? I was under the impression that they don’t charge your CC until it actually ships.

    • mine already shipped. charge on my card has been posted/finalized so i’m pretty sure i’ll be getting mine tomorrow morning (2-day prime)

    • If they were to send out a notification that would just amount to negative press for them. I’m sure there weren’t many people who ordered the phones. Why alert Everyone when it only affects a select few.

      • i guess i should have been more specific will amazon or verizon warranty the device and not have to deal with manufacturer?

        • Gotcha, Verizon should. I’ve gone into them with a used phone I bought off an android forum and they honored the warranty and got me a replacement.

  • not really liking how much time mine have been sitting in memphis. just about 12 hours now on the one.

    • If they were going to cancel or reroute I hope they would have done it already. This it just torture (yes first world problems). My package has been in memphis since 5:56am, so not too bad.

    • I did Prime 2 day. I just called FedEx b/c mine has been showing it has been sitting in Phoenix since last night. They told me it is currently in Las Vegas and didn’t understand why the site hasn’t updated. I am going to call later tonight and hopefully it is on its way to me.

      • You might want to plug in the tracking number in the FedEx site as well. I noticed that amazon’s tracking info varies greatly from FedEx’s. If USPS is involved, you can also use that same tracking number there.

        • oh that’s interesting. using fedex’s site, one of my two is “In Transit” but contains no other information as to destination etc.

    • Don’t think so. If you complain enough, They will give you a gift credit. Some people said they got a $10 credit and others for $30. Can’t hurt to try.

      • But, I mean, you would be complaining for a glitch in their system, that WE ALL TOOK advantage of and some of us got lucky. And it really isn’t Amazons fault, but their CS is really nice

  • Finally. Even though I did 2 day prime, I’m receiving it next day. It’s out for delivery now. Thank the lord.

  • Whoever is selling any G2s, they are going for lowest 450 right now so I suggest you beat that guy selling many and sell for lower, you will get rid of them fast!

    • If I can sell mine for $430 and after shipping and PP fees get $400 I will happy with that.

  • Is there any way Amazon could force you to return it or want to charge you the correct price once you have received the phone?

    • unknown. but it’d be real douchey/possibly illegal if they asked you to return it or charged you the difference after you have it in hand.

      • I have to be honest, if they ask me to do it. I would be pissed but not upset at Amazon. They are an amazing seller and have been awesome to me with Prime.

        • yeah, i’m not going to be too pissed or upset about it really if they’d do that. we all really took advantage of a pretty significant pricing error. douchey if they’d ask after we receive it (which is why i don’t think they would) but i’m not gonna yell at them like they owe me a dirt cheap new phone.

          • I would not be happy. Yea it was a screw up. But many other companies have done it and honored prices. Others have not. I would not be pleased if they ‘forced’ me to return or pay $400 more than I did pay.

      • Yeah the way I understand it is once they’ve charged you they have agreed to sell it for the billed price and created a binding contract. I think that’s why everyone who wasn’t charged was canceled and everyone who was charged is getting them.

        • That’s not correct. They can cancel the sale as long as they refund your money. It isn’t legally yours until it is in your possession, that’s when their ability to either take it back or charge you extra ends. The sale is never final until goods are exchanged.

          • Interesting. Yeah it’s been hard to find any concrete info on what constitutes final sale and what action they can take once charged/shipped/received. You’re probably right, I’m mostly concerned if they try to charge more once people have them in hand.

          • That would be illegal if I’m not mistaken. They have to do their due diligence, before the item is received by the customer, to correct any pricing glitches. They could politely ask, but once you take possession the sale is final. If they did push you to pay more or return it, you would have a case to fight it.

          • i’d like to think they’d say either return it (and provide prepaid shipping label for you) or be charged. they’re not just going to randomly start charging people. another reason why it’s probably smart to let these sit in the box for a few days until this blows over..

    • Once they sell it to you and you have it in hand I don’t think there’s a chance they can charge you more. The deal is over and you are in possession of the product. they won’t ask you to return it either b/c then it’s an open boxed item and they lose value

  • Best way for Verizon to kinda please their customers knowing they won’t carry N5’s or update fmw’s on a timely fashion…funny how many glitches (Verizon) and now price correction (Amazon – although its still a Verizon variant) they are experiencing…coincidence, I THINK NOT

    • You realize we are like .001% of verizon customers who got the phone for that price. They aren’t trying to please anyone but themselves.

  • Has anyone actually been cancelled since the initial surge of LG2 cancel notices yesterday afternoon?

  • Time to decide.. Swappa, Craiglist, or eBay – Pappa got some phones to sling. Thanks Droid-Life!!

  • package with forum from today’s posts in background. best i can do while working. hope everyone has same luck today

  • My debit card transaction still says “processing” in my bank of america. I hope the charge stays and doesn’t go up.

  • There is a $995.00 Note 3 Developer Edition on swappa, I think I’ll pick that up O_o NOT!

  • Anybody elses tracking not showing any changes? This is what it has been saying since yesterday.
Package has left seller facility and is in transit to carrier – November 7, 2013 4:53:29 PM

  • Anybody want to trade a White S4 for a G2. Both on Verizon? I have a brand new S4 that came today. Looking for someone who got the G2 and is unopened.

      • Yeah I got in on the G2’s but apparently a little late. Had mine cancelled but got 2 GS4’s and a GS3.

          • I literally had two Moto X’s in my cart and I hesitated. Luckily I got in on the S4’s.

          • i should not have hesitated on clicking the order button i did a few seconds and they were gone …oh well on to the next glitch

          • I suppose it’s a good thing, though. I would have wanted to keep the Moto X. My DNA is more than fine. Love the thing actually.

  • mine is on the fedex truck out for delivery! GS4!

November 8, 2013, 7:46 am, XXXXXX, XX US Out for delivery

November 7, 2013, 11:13 pm, Memphis TN US Package arrived at a carrier facility
November 7, 2013, 5:39 pm, — Package has left seller facility and is in transit to carrier

  • I GOT IT DELIVERIED IN MY HANDS but no packing slip. just the phone and thats it
    How to provide proof?

  • Whoever does receive it please post proof just excited and would rather only focus on this if people are receiving orders.

  • So I never received any emails from Amazon regarding the error, just emails about the orders and shipping. Whoever said otherwise is probably lying.

    • I placed two orders. A GS3 and a GS4. I was charged for the GS3, not the GS4. I did receive an email about the pricing error for the GS4 when they notified me the order had been cancelled. Still waiting on the GS3 to ship.

      • I still have a pending $1 charge from Amazon on my ccard, it’s like a constant reminder that I’m not one of the lucky ones, just laughing at me.

        • Got ya. When I called regarding the cancelled order the rep honestly told me they were being rerouted. Definitely not making that up. I’m assuming that saying that is more of a crowd control thing rather than truth. I’ve seen no proof to what I was told.

  • Mine is ‘OUT FOR DELIVERY’ via UPS. Won’t be confident until the phone is in hand though.

    • once its out for delivery there’s no way to reroute/intercept the package that can be only done now if the package is undeliverable

        • I was told by a rep last night that they were going to require the customer to send the item back or get charged full price. Don’t wanna smash any hopes here, its just what I was told.

          • I don’t think they could legally do that. Price was paid, product would be delivered.

          • i would think once it’s in your hand and you’ve paid them, there’s no way they could do this. automated process or not, they didn’t have to ship it if it was wrong.

even if they could do this, i don’t think they would do this either. everyone was talking about PR yesterday etc etc.. but it’s at this point i would think we start venturing into bad PR category – if they start calling their customers and asking them to send back the items they bought. that’d be a douche move for any company.

  • hmmmmm, nobody has actually received theirs yet? Mine are “out for delivery” as well, but seems like they should’ve arrived. Usually UPS delivers to my house very early. Possible Amazon got to them before delivery? I paid for overnight just so I could get them out of the Amazon warehouse before they knew what hit them. Maybe they were intercepted though.

    • not really,
as soon as you intercept/reroute a package it’ll show when you track the package sometimes it takes a little longer to show but that’s usually 15-30 minutes

      • Good to hear you are getting yours shipped as well. My G2 is on the truck for delivery so I’ll be restoring my n5 back to factory settings for the return.

  • My order was canceled yesterday – I called and tried to get the price honored, but they refused. They did give me a $20 amazon credit.

    • Sucks doesn’t it? Orders that got in a few minutes before me are shipped, mine, canceled. Damn you GNex, I’m sick of looking at you.

      • If I like the G2 I’ll sell you my S4…great condition. If I don’t like the G2, I’ll sell you it. Pricing negotiable. Verizon right?

      • mine left seller facility yesterday in transit to carrier, i imagine that’s before they really had a handle on this. only other updates are that it arrived at carrier facility in memphis – one last night, and one at 6am this morning. still don’t think this will happen for the large majority of us.

    • I also used amazon prime, I ordered the phone at 7:22 am yesterday, I think what helped though was that I ordered some other things as well and not just the phone.

  • Ugh… Min is being shipped via usps and their tracking info sucks. At this point my order shows that my electronic shipping info has been received. That doesn’t give me any positive info that order has even left amazon’s facilities.

  • Just an update:the g2 I ordered has arrived at my local carrier facility this morning from the warehouse in Phoenix. Still no change on the S4 though.

  • This is depressing :(. I’m happy for you guys that are getting yours though! Heck of a deal. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

  • Mine are out for delivery. They should be delivered within the next 2 hours, so I’ll keep everyone updated and actually post a picture if they’re delivered.

  • Looks good for one day shippers. I did two day prime and mine got rerouted. It was in KY lastnight and this morning was in TN. I live in NY so thats the wrong way. Hope im wrng but its not looking good unless you did overnight delivery.

  • Since mine was in the “preparing for shipment” stage I was able to get shipping changed to 1 day (tomorrow)…it was only $3.99 extra so I figured that was worth a shot.

      • Clearly because that move was unethical. Haha. I’m pretty positive I won’t be receiving mine anyways. I can’t believe I didn’t just have it overnighted yesterday. BIG MISTAKE.

  • Just talked amazon regarding my phone being still in transit to the carrier as shipping status and they told me “As I can see your item is in transit and the next update would be after delivering the item to you. So no need to worry about this you will surely get this item on time. ” I hope he’s right.

  • Mine is now listed on UPS as “out for delivery”… It ain’t here ’til it’s in my hands, and may yet be turned around, but regardless, the level of trolling here is astounding. Your shenanigans are categorically unimpressive.

  • Well mine has arrived at a carrier facility near the airport, but I live about 1 hour away from there. Usually all of my packages are out for delivery around 6:30 am.. So i have a feeling it will be rerouted to Amazon.

  • Had my two note 3’s as shipped as of last night with tracking numbers and woke up to an email from Amazon saying they refunded my credit card for the purchases, as of now no reroute but I think that it is going to happen

      • Now as I’m driving to work I just got an email from FedEx saying it’s still in transit and scheduled for delivery still…..I’ll just wait to see what happens….right now it looks like I’m getting 2 free phones lol, doubt it but what a crazy situation this is

    • Well, let me know if you actually get them, and if you’re willing to sell one for $300. 🙂

  • Some guy on swappa is already selling brand new Verizon LG G2’s for $450… 8 of them are on sale. I wonder if he got it through the Amazon glitch LOL.

      • If Amazon actually delivers these, It’ll be interesting to see how low these go for on Swappa. There’s going to be a lot of people competing against one another to sell their phone and I’m sure plenty of people willing to drop the price just to get some money out of it. I just feel bad for everyone else who is trying to sell their stuff out there. This is going to ruin the Swappa market.

  • Wow…. we are in India….and boy we never get such huge discounts… All we can get is a little combo free like memory card free or bluetooth free but mobile phone in actual price only….

  • Just an added two cents to the speculation on whether or not Amazon will honor orders – I placed 3 orders, each for one phone (two S4s and a Droid Mini). My first two orders shipped, my third was canceled. I called Amazon to inquire why my order was canceled. After speaking to several representatives and receiving several surveys and call backs I finally spoke to a supervisor. She assured me I would be receiving my two phones that shipped. She told me that the orders Amazon got to before they shipped were canceled and under no circumstances be honored. However, despite the rumors of packages being rerouted my orders that were en route would be honored and that I was very fortunate. I can not tell if my call caused her to change this, if I placed the order early enough, if I was lucky they shipped, or if there is some arbitrary determining factor as to whether or not you will get your phone.

Hope this offers some insight for people.

    • I myself ordered 5 VZW Note3s but chose 3-5days shipping (dumbazz move by me) and it’s still in Shipping Now status. I did check my credit card statement and I have a pending transaction for $1600+ so I’m hoping it will go through. We shall all find out in a few hours from those that was smart enough and chose next day shipping 🙂

  • Anyone want to sell one to me at a decent price. Lets not try to make a 50% profit margin off of me. In need of a new phone badly and I am planning a wedding next year.

  • Well I see USED note 3s on craigslist for 675-700. If i actually get one I will sell it for $600 which i feel is still a good deal since it is brand new and untouched. If anyone lives in NYC and is interested let me know. TYLERJARVISFOOTBALL@yahoo.com

    • Oh thanks for the down vote. Clearly people like to troll when they missed out on a deal. Yes im going to sell my phone for a profit and make 200 off of it but somebody is going to save 200 from what verizon wants to charge. I guess everyone wants people to sell there phones for the same price they bought them for

      • yeah, dont expect to get it. people are reporting that amazon is rerouting shipped phones and issuing refunds

        • I don’t expect to get it. There would be more tracking information then just shipped. No one has any signs that packages are moving. My status says shipped and is sitting in KY. Its suppose to be in NYC by 10 which is in 9 hours. So yea i doubt anyone is getting them. I just think it’s funny how people troll when they miss out on a deal that they wish they got. And all the people crying to amazon and linking the information to droid life’s site is childish. Basically grown men saying well how come he gets it and i didnt? That’s not fair. lol

          • Yeah, it sucks. Im hoping to get the ones I ordered since they arent for me but for my friends to replace their t-bolts(contract ended 7 months ago they are still using em). i just wanted to help them out. but I was seriously hoping that amazon would let these through.

          • Yea i hope you/we get it too. Its cool your helping your friends. Damn all the way back on tbolts still? Im keeeping some hope but kike i said not a single order is actually moving. That seems weird to me. I wonder how much money amazon would pay to hold full teuck and make them reroute. Almost seems more expensive then just letting the phones go.

      • I’m fairly certain the note 3 was going for $300 during this deal, right? At $600, you’d be reaping a profit of $300, not $200. That’s neither here nor there, but I figured I’d clarify.

  • this is now 3 times in a month and a half that I have slept through crazy bugs on sites………………damn working overnights

    • I work grave too and I was able to take advantage of the Verizon glitch as well as this one if it ever ships. Bought 5 Verizon note 3s.

      • yea the thing that sucks is for the longest time I have been going with 4 hours of sleep each day (11:30-3:30). But now, I am trying to get decent sleep since I get home around 7:45, I am out cold by like 8:15-8:30. And it was just my luck that yesterday I got like no sleep, so I took two nightquil and was out in a coma……….

if you wanted to sell a fellow overnighter working 11pm-7am in mahanttan a note 3 for a reasonable price that has been fighting with verizon about the first glitch, and missed the second and slept through this. give me a holler 🙂

        • I live in Brooklyn and I could meet you on Saturday if i get one. but what are you considering as a reasonable price?

  • So they shipped my Moto X and Note 3. I didn’t try to get greedy and order multiples so maybe that’s why it wasn’t cancelled.

  • Anyone who ordered an ATT G2 that would sell it for $275-300 I’d be interested. I would basically sell my note ii for the same amount.

  • I was able to get a the LG G2 with the system issue today, it will arrive tomorrow. I am definitely going to sell it, anyone interested?

  • Good luck everyone, I hope that you all get your phones. If you were able to get extra phone’s at the discounted amount and are looking to make a profit, please be nice to those who weren’t able to take advantage of the glitch 🙂

  • I got a Note 3 for Verizon. $300 off contract. Shipping now. So great that this actually worked. Either I can use it as my third phone or sell it for a huge profit. Thanks amazon <3

  • Mine just shipped! I’m hoping for the best! If amazon already knows that they are going to reroute the shipments then why would they still be sending them out? I think we’re still getting them.

  • Placed LG G2 order at 7:48am CST, one day shipping. From Preparing to shipment to Shipping Now then back to Preparing for Shipment and now it Shipped. Tracking from UPS Amazon said it already left facility in KY. Tracking in UPS.com said tracking not available…. I’m confused all day but really hope to get it tomorrow.

    • dont hold your breath, people are reporting that amazon going to reroute shipped orders and issue a refund.

  • Just got my 3rd shipping update.

“Package has left seller facility and is in transit to carrier,”
    “Package received by carrier”
Now “Phoenix, AZ, United States 11/07/2013 7:42 P.M. Departure Scan”
    Here’s hoping.
I just don’t get why they would still be allowing some to get switched to “shipped” this late, if they were cancelling them all.

    • Apparently the final hub is where they do a recall. It costs Amazon $10 to do, or something. This is all just heresy from Slickdeals and whatnot, but I’m hoping you get yours!

      • Damn this roller coaster ride!
I was feeling good again, then you come in and burst my bubble.

  • Just shipped! A moto x for the wife and an LG g2 for me! I was starting to doubt…. And now I’m ecstatic! Unlimited data is still mine!

    • lol same for me and the wife but the other way around. Hope they aren’t re-routed back to amaz

  • I got a Verizon Galaxy S4 while they were $199, and just got an email that it shipped.

Now I gotta figure out how to root this thing. A cursory search shows that it’s apparently difficult.

  • Just got shipping confirmation. I know it’s a long-shot…I know it’s hopeful…but here’s wishing for the best!

  • Just talked to an Amazon Mobile rep, they are not honoring any of the orders and he confirmed they will be re-routing any orders that did ship back to Amazon. I pressed to still get it multiple times and he would not budge.

  • I think Amazon should honor everyone’s order even if back ordered. For those that due manage to get the phone, please update the thread so that the rest of us that go denied by Amazon can call and get it for the same price.

  • Mine updated from

“Package has left seller facility and is in transit to carrier,”

    to

    “Package received by carrier”

    FWIW

  • I ordered a G2 and an S4, both say “Package has left seller facility and is in transit to carrier,” weird thing was the G2 said it was delivered but the delivery was dated back in August of this year. Hoping for the best!

    • Now instead of saying delivered for the g2, it’s now saying shipped. Not sure what that means, but it’s a change.

    • If you end up receiving both and you don’t need 2 phones, I’d love to buy one from you for $300. Please let me know!

  • I’ve never of a big company like Amazon recalling orders after have been shipped, it’s just complete BS

  • I doubt my orders are gonna ship now. It’ll be interesting to see who gets their orders and what ensues.

    • I paid for one day shipping so it should be here tomorrow but I dont know how thats possible with it not shipping yet.

      • Amazon overnights stuff to me quite often, sometimes with the item not being marked as shipped until as late as 11:00 pm the night before it’s due to be delivered. The items they’ve done that with have always been delivered on time.

That said, I wouldn’t hold out any hope for any more of these to actually get shipped out.

          • They ship it whatever is the cheapest method to get it to you the next day. Sometimes that’s ground from a nearby facility. Sometimes it’s next day air from across the country. I’ve ordered a text book at like 9PM EST and got it next day because the west coast facilities were still working and processing shipments. Still so freaking bummed about this. Was probably talking to a co-worker about the $100 32GB Nexus 7 that GameStop had today.

  • Just talked to another amazon rep and she said they are all being returned this is pretty disappointing but oh well.

      • sorry to hurt you but i wanted to check on my order and as soon as she saw it she was like “well sir, we had a discrepancy and are recalling all orders.”

          • i have mine in the shipping starting phase. they already stated they are recalling anyone’s they shipped.

          • My order still says shipping soon, but if anyone’s order shipped I’m pretty sure they will receive it

          • It won’t get rerouted until it reaches the final sorting facility. So it will get to your local hub where they would normally put it on the truck to deliver it. When they scan it though it will tell them to reroute to sender.

  • Anyone’s shipped order have any progress other than simply being Initiated? Doesn’t seem to bode well.

        • oh i’m sure. no way they wouldn’t do anything and everything they can to get all of these back. $400-$500 loss on each phone sold is a pretty significant pricing error. well played amazon, if anything it made my work day less boring..

          • Yes the $10 dollar fee they would pay UPS to redirect the shipment back to them is far less than the $400 loss per phone. I don’t really see Bezos sitting in a board room going “Oh well!”

          • I doubt they would be losing $400 per phone. That assumes that don’t make any profit on full price phones. Don’t all those tear downs estimate build costs to be the $200-300 range.

          • yeah but they’re not the manufacturers.. they’re still buying from the manufacturers at x dollars. so normally they sell them for, let’s say $650 off-contract. they make $650 – x. now they’re selling for $200. now they make $200 – x. I’m sure that’s a negative value they’re making now because the manufacturers aren’t selling to Amazon at cost or less than cost. Either way, in the example it’s $450 less.

  • I am really happy. I was able to grab 2 G4s and get them shipped at the steep discount of $200 each thanks to amazon. Not for me, but for my friend and his brother to use. They have been using the Thunderbolt for 2 and a half years now. It makes me sad whenever I see them pull out their phone. They are looking forward to the phones arriving really soon. Thanks DL and Amazon for making my day and theirs.

  • hell yea mine shipped and i received tracking info! ( GS4 ) i missed out on the rest as they sold out within minutes

  • I still haven’t gotten shipment confirmation…I’m probably SOL. I’m still sitting at “preparing to ship”.

    • i’m at shipping now for the past few hours. I am just scared everything will be routed back to amazon.

      • I guess we’ll find out tomorrow. I’m just going to forget about it tonight. I can’t believe they haven’t issued a statement, though.

        • i wish i could i have gmail and amazon up hoping to see a new email in gmail from amazon confirming my g2 has shipped.

  • Some how we need to give amazon bad publicity for this. Just a simple headline of “amazon refuses to honor orders some were even shipped they had rerouted”. Companies have to have a reason to honor these purchases they won’t unless there is something to lose.

    • Why should they have to? Its a friggin error that you all know youre trying to take advantage of. They dont owe you a 600 dollar phone at a third of the price just because something was listed wrong for an hour. Get over your sense of entitlement.

      • that sad thing is that most if they entered a brick and mortar store saw a mislabeled sales tag would raise holy hell to get that price at least that is my opinion since i have had it happen.

Working retail opens your eyes to how big of di*** people can be

        • I have worked at several retail stores, mostly in high school and college so it has been a few years, however, never once did we not honor posted prices. I agree, they dont owe us anything, but it just good business. If I was in their shoes I would honor single item orders. I know people may have ordered two or three for family and friends but one is still a good deal. The people that ordered phones by the dozens clearly are looking to profit off of Amazon’s mistake which isnt dishonest or wrong, but i can understand them not honoring those orders.

While it is completely off topic here in Philadelphia there is some buzz that the Sixers and StubHub did almost the same thing to ticket holders. The Sixers sold tickets to a game for one price then announced a promotion that night that they knew would drive the price of tickets sky high. So magically within minutes every posted ticket (for sale for half the price they were on the team website) was gone. All of a sudden the Sixers had tons of tickets available. Now when you go to StubHub to find the game it is almost impossible to find – why? Most likely because the Sixers want you to buy their overpriced bad tickets over the less overpriced better tickets.

          • i wish we didn’t have to honor things like that problem is they either get it from us or they call corporate then corporate tells us to do it and they get a giftcard. The people in the town i work in know how to work the system.

          • THANK YOU!!!! Companies shaft us all the time its built into their business model and then there are people on here acting as if paying 200 dollars for something that cost 600 dollars is crazy!

    • In the terms of sale:

With respect to items sold by Amazon, we cannot confirm the price of an item until you order. Despite our best efforts, a small number of the items in our catalog may be mispriced. If the correct price of an item sold by Amazon is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation. Other merchants may follow different policies in the event of a mispriced item.

      • Sir its not about entitlement I understand why they are not honoring it what I’m saying is this is the only way a consumer has a voice is, collectively and companies hate bad press. United or US Airways about a month ago was offering tickets for 10 dollars to everywhere in the US it was a glitch that lasted for about 30 min. People went crazy, and you know what they honored it, companies shake us down all the time and thats why these deals are enticing it’s an opp. for people to get one back so to speak, from corporations.

        • how is amazon “shaking your down” now? it was a mistake, it happens… they do not owe you anything… you clicked 4 buttons… i get your point of corps getting people down… but that is not the case here… and amazon is a relatively good company…

          • I never said they shoke me down. Both amazon and ebay have not honored sales I’ve made on their website where merchants didn’t pay and they weren’t willing to help at the end of the day I have to chalk it up to the game and consider that almost always things go smoothly. Companies like verizon charge ridiculous fees for activating a service you pay for, or airlines charging for an extra piece of luggage. These deals are a rare opportunity for a consumer to jump on a great deal and its not like these phones were free they are still 200 dollars!!!! So its 66 percent off!!

Scroll to pricing. Odd that they honored these prices. However, that being said Amazon’s systems and order picking process are so automated it’s hard to stop midstream. I have heard that most of their orders are picked and packaged by machines. A human checks the contents to make sure it’s correct and that’s about all human interaction with the shipment.

          • definitely not how it happens. A regular human person picks it, some Amazons have conveyors that take it to a line that then a person will pack the device.

        • You aren’t being shaken down, cuz you u sure as hell didn’t buy it in good faith – you damn well knew it was a glitch.

      • It’s probably location based as to when they ship. I’ve placed one day shipping orders before at like 6 PM and got it the next day, so I’m hoping this goes through like everyone else’s.

    • what time did you get your order confirmation email? ordered my S4 at 11:10 and it never left “Not Yet Shipped” status before being canceled. Credit card was hit with the hold though. Ah well.

      • The account isn’t mine, so I haven’t gotten an email. They hit my account with the charges. It went to “Shipping Now” at around 11 AM EST.

  • Looking to buy an S4 or a G2. Offering 300 plus I’ll pay for shipping. I ordered one buy mine got canceled.

    • Dude that’s a totally unrealistic price. You want someone to basically give you one for free if they bought today.

      • Both of those phones were on sale for 200. I would pay an additional 100 plus shipping. I don’t know about you but I don’t believe giving someone an additional 100 would be considered free?

  • I think we can all use the “shipped” to our advantage. For anyone who had theirs say shipped, if it gets rerouted or whatever, we can say that we took the “shipped” as being enough proof that it was on the way to us as well as seeing that our accounts were charged the cost, just going to say once i saw shipped i went into my carrier, cancelled my account with opposite carrier you ordered phone for, paid the ETF and made the cancellation effective immediately because we were under the assumption the phone was coming in a day or two…

      • Why not? How much money do these companies make off us. The carriers, other corporations, ect. I dont know about you but I’ve never been the kind of person to just get a nice break on something and be able to say ” wow, something good finally happened, how lucky .”

I think as long as the ones that say “shipped” could make more of an argument. The expectations are higher for those who received that their’s were shipped.

So yeah, “lie” because a big company like Amazon, that prides itself in online ordering and is the biggest online retailer, messed up on a price that a select amount took advantage.. Any retail place I worked at when I Was younger, if the price tag read something, you HAD to honor that price, and that was also when I worked at Verizon where they might of forgotten to change price tag after a promotion ended, we still honored the price because thats what was advertised.

        • So if you make a mistake at work, you would want people to exploit that mistake even to the point of your misfortune? Do you not even see how that is just ethically wrong?

    • Ditto. Was about 45 minutes late to the party. I was even slow at work today. Had probably already sat on my butt for a solid 45 minutes so decided to get up and look busy for a little bit before coming back to find this. Sad thing is I usually don’t check DL till lunch time ish because they normally don’t have much news until then do to being west coast based.

  • Well so far my N3 and Two S4s have shipped via FedEx and with no cancellation. Just waiting for them to leave the state of KY where they shipped from to NY. I overnighted the N3 to give that one the best chance of making it out alive.

  • I just called Amazon about my cancelled LG G2 order and they said that all orders were cancelled and that the ones that were shipped are being rerouted. She then said no one will be getting the phone who ordered at $199.

  • How about this offer – It’s clear that delivery of the phones is up in the air. I’ll consider offering my LG G2 att for $300. If it arrives or not! any gamblers in here?

  • gonna be an interesting morning tomorrow when we all get up and see where our packages our.

  • Mine still says Shipping Now… but even if it doesn’t come thru, least I got my G2 that I got 2 weeks ago with the glitch, and with today’s price adjustment in total Verizon actually ends up paying me $15 for the upgrade lol

    • My order got cancelled, I emailed to complain, they replied saying they’d upgrade my shipping for free even though the order was still cancelled… I called to complain and they said that they can’t fulfill it. When I said other people said their’s have shipped the guy said they’re being rerouted back to Amazon (we’ll see if that’s true). I asked if there was anything at all he could do for me so he credited $10 to my account. Nothing too great but more than I had before I placed the order.

    • Will verizon only adjust the price if you bought the phone within the last 14 days? My receipt says that 11/6 is the last day to return my phone.

      • really? but the glitch happened on the 7th. and yea 14 days. maybe you can get lucky, if so, just try NOW. was it an internet order?

        • I didn’t buy the G2 with the glitch. I bought it on the 23rd so today makes day 15. I paid 149 online so I was just hoping verizon would price match.

          • oh ok, well doesnt hurt to try. if it was an online order, call this number 1 866-338-7390..maybe just maybe they’ll do u a favor since its 15 days

  • Waited on hold for 20 minutes and finally got through. Tried to reinstate my order that got cancelled (I still have one preparing for shipment that I was charged for) and the lady told me all the orders were indeed being redirected back to Amazon. I truly hope she is wrong.

    • I think they’re telling customers calling in to complain in order to keep them quiet. Imagine the size of the phone box. Now imagine it in a giant truck trailer with 10,000 other boxes equal to or bigger in size. Now imagine someone trying to dig through those trailers to sort out the small box.

      I guess we’ll see though.

      • they all have to be scanned at multiple points on the route to the customer. i’m sure they can flag them so they get tossed aside and sent back at some point along the journey.

        • That’s how it works at UPS. Amazon sends them the tracking number to intercept. When a driver scans it a message will pop up and say ” please mark package as intercept and don’t deliver, return to clerk “

    • I really don’t think they can redirect the packages. As I understand it once they are sent from Amazon they no longer have ownership of the product, the buyer (who has already been charged) does. FedEx is taking temporary custody over the package while in transit, but I think only the buyer can divert the shipment, or amazon with the buyers consent.

      • Amazon does not need the customers consent to have the box returned to them. Amazon is the one paying Fedex to deliver or not deliver the package.

      • Can totally reroute it back to them. I do it all the time at work. As long as it hasn’t reached the final sort facility you can do it. Those who ordered next day delivery have the best chance as they will be the ones whose package gets pushed through to the delivery truck the fastest.

  • Did anyone who got the Verizon LG G2, Verizon Moto X, or Verizon S4 get their orders shipped or were theirs cancelled too ?

  • I have to say this hurts seeing this after its dead! I guess work is more important but dam dam dam dam..

  • anyone else have weird shipping history entries? Why does it showing “out for delivery on AUGUST 21st?? Mine is as follows:

August 21, 2013, 9:08 am, San Ramon CA US
    Out for delivery

August 21, 2013, 6:55 am, Dublin CA US
Package arrived at a carrier facility

August 21, 2013, 6:24 am, San Ramon CA US
Package arrived at a carrier facility

August 21, 2013, 4:43 am, Fedex Smartpost Sacramento CA US
    In transit to pickup location

August 20, 2013, 8:46 pm, Fedex Smartpost Sacramento CA US
Package arrived at a carrier facility

November 7, 2013, 2:11 pm, Phoenix AZ US
Package has left seller facility and is in transit to carrier

      • LOL…no idea. It appears that the last entry says it’s in AZ now…I’m in California. So hopefully it’s leaving AZ for a carrier….not sure what that other stuff is from.

        • my other orders within the last day or two have had weird shipping stuff too. amazon says it’s in x state, but if i take the tracking number and use the tracking thing on the usps website, it says it’s in my state, out for delivery (but nowhere to be found here..).

    • This is perfectly normal. Sometimes they reuse tracking numbers, and the old info is still there. Just pay attention to the data that pertains to your order.

      • Usually not this soon though. Maybe after a year or two. They purge their tracking history slowly to less and less info until they drop tracking history all together.

  • My husbands shows that it has shipped but my order was cancelled. They are definitely getting an earful from me.

    • Yeah they deserve an earful because of you trying to take advantage of an error and them trying to stop it. This self important entitled society is disgusting. You tried to get in on a glitch and they refused you. Some poor customer service person doesnt deserve to deal with your hissy fit now. Just ask to buy one from one of your fellow dishonest scammers who ordered today. Im sure someone will offer you the low low price of 499.

      • Wow! Obviously you must be just targeting women since I haven’t seen you ball bashing anyone else.

        • wow good plan.. yell at someone who works for a company that clearly made a pricing mistake…. entitlement issues around here….

          • No yelling here…I don’t throw hissy fits. I just wanted to find out how they decided which orders got cancelled and which made the cut.

  • still “Shipping Now” for me. ordered at 7:49. black g2 verizon. hopefully it goes through! 😀 congrats to everyone who has gotten a shipping confirmation thus far.

    Droid-Life is the best.

  • I had a post Christmas decorations online order from Lowes that was ridiculously low priced similar to this deal last year. They didn’t honor it and did not ship. If you get lucky and have this shipped, then wow…..Amazon is head and shoulders above Lowes in honoring what their site prices say. Lowes order wasn’t anywhere near the price this phone is and they still wouldn’t honor it.

    • Home Depot honored my 77lb $150 tool chest for $40 shipped. Have had Lowes cancel one though.

  • HEY Kellen you get that Email notification system yet!?!?!?

UGGGG I keep missing out on these amazing deals

    • Same. I usually don’t expect much news out of DL until Kellen rolls out of bed at 9AM to sip his morning coffee.

  • w/ amazon CS, told them 1 shipped and 1 was cancelled. obviously want the cancelled one honored. they said this:

I’m sorry about this price error. This is a rare occurrence on our site. I see we’ve honored the incorrect price for one of the items you ordered, and I hope you’ll accept that as a gesture of goodwill. I’m not able to honor the incorrect price for the additional quantity you ordered.

  • Anybody who got a Verizon G2 or Note 3 want to sell me one, not at a ridiculous markup? Edit: added verizon

  • Amazon claims that they will be redirecting those orders that were not cancelled before they shipped. Please post back if you actually receive your phone.

  • No reason to be upset, no one made their purchase in good faith- though there was no harm in trying!

    • No offense kevlar but you’re the main person I see here being a complete dick about everything… This is larger than a couple of people calling in and breaking it for everyone. The Amazon bigs are making a conscious choice to allow this mistake to go through if more than 10 people get their phones.

      • Sankyou, are you high? Please show where I said anything other than Im posting it on swappa?

  • its funny how the bitter people who didn’t get theres shipped when they full on know it was a glitch are complaining to get theirs matched in accordance to the glitch because they see others on here getting theirs shipped. Them questioning it so much is what will ruin it for everyone else who lucked out. It’s like psycho person who is completely in love with someone that doesn’t want them back… ” If I can’t have them, NO ONE CAN “.. Thanks for digging into Amazon customer service deeper, showing the images and links of those who got them shipped, and ruining it for the lucky few who so far look like it is shipping to.

  • Anyone know what the price would be on an upgrade? Still free? Or just the upgrade fee ($30)?

  • First of all they can’t adjust shipped order prices without your consent, and second of all my friend got this email.

    • Can you confirm? If true I might as well just request cancellation. Don’t want to deal with shipping back and having the big charge linger on my card over the weekend and such.

      • They can’t do that. You’ll either get it or you won’t…
Edit: I misread your statement. Big charge as in the $200 charge.

        • No way in hell the demand it back. Plus all you have to do is return to sender if they ever did. No hassle in returning or paying for shipping.

          • I am more just afraid of randomly getting charged the actual price, or them not accepting the return (do I have to insure shipment? etc)…this was a fun day, don’t feel like making a huge deal out of it if they’re all getting cancelled anyway

          • They cannot legally just charge you a new price. You already paid the price that was displayed on the checkout page. Charging you an additional amount without your consent is illegal. Period.

          • Yeah I remember two years ago Verizon had a huge glitch in their system with extended batteries. I had proof of what I paid in print and they gave it to me. Granted, we’re talking about $700 phones here instead of $50 batteries.

          • Yeah that’s what I was talking about – they can’t do that. Completely illegal and even if Amazon messed up and did that, your bank would adjust any overdrafts accordingly. Pain in the ass but you would be covered legally.

    • can you post up the full conversation you had with the amazon chat? (I think it was you rustling everyones jimmies about this)

      • Absolutely. Didn’t hurt to try. I hope the ones that shipped go to everyone, but I’m just passing this message along.

    • I want to believe this but it sounds fake… especially since he changed his name and pic since the beginning of this post

    • Amazon robots rerouting all that….ughh… Any of you catch the 60 minutes on their shipping facilities? It’s pretty incredible

  • If you took advantage of this to get more than just an upgrade for yourself and or a loved one and are now looking how to profit off of it, you’re what’s wrong with the world and this would be an immensely better place if you took a long walk off a short pier tonight. Pay it forward and sell other enthusiasts the devices for exactly what you paid or go die. And no this has nothing to do with me i have my new g2 and I’m fine. Just disgusted by how gleefully dishonest this entire community has been with taking advantage of glitches this past month. If a carrier bought all these devices back from amazon so they could sell them at full price youd all be screaming bloody murder. But it’s swell if you do it. Pathetic way to make a buck. Im glad im not you.

  • I did order one, but went on-contract since I’m stuck with VZW. Free for the G2 is pretty damn good. I’ll be holding onto it until next week, though, in hopes of the white one! Anyone know if you can swap out colors w/i 14 days?

  • I got in late on this game. I was able to get a White Verizon S4 for 199$ off contract. It will be going up on swappa once received tomorrow 🙂

  • If anyone who got a Verizon Note 3 is interested in a Verizon G2, let’s work something out (like a trade plus $100 from me since the Note 3 was $299 vs. the G2’s $199 price).

      • It’s brand new from Amazon. 😉

I was able to snag a G2 that just shipped, but I missed out on the Note 3.

    • I have a Note 3 still in the “Preparing for Shipment” phase, but if it ends up hitting my doorstep by next week, I’d be interested in this deal.

    • I may consider it…got the white N3 and it’s in fantastic shape AND…best part yet, I’m a fellow BEARS fan, lol!

    • I’ve got a N3 in white I may be interested in trading you for. Is the G2 16gb or 32gb?? And I’m a fellow BEARS fan to boot!! GO BEARS!!! Whip those Loins!!! But I’m still delirious from beating GB. Made my month, lol!

  • I hope those who got them shipped actually get them at the price. It would be jacked up if they charge retail or have the shipping carriers return them back to amazon

    • I would love that. Dishonest people getting what they deserve for once. Rarely happens on this planet.

      • Let me ask you something:

If someone was outside your front door throwing money in the streets, would you stand by your window watching everyone scramble to get some?

      • How are people who ordered and had theirs shipped dishonest? It was a publicly posted price by Amazon. There’s nothing dishonest about it.

      • It’s still quite possible that Amazon has them returned by the shipping carriers. Until people actually have it in their hands, it’s not a 100% thing.

        • I doubt they’d do that. Oh, and how is it dishonest that people ordered these when the prices were glitched? You’re probably just mad you missed out on a great deal. And yes, I’m one of the people who got in on the deal. Note 3 for $299, woo! 🙂 I’m so dishonest.

          • Eh, I feel like they won’t do that. What if the customer declines to accept the charge for the difference in price? And I also don’t see them going to such an extent to have the shipments sent back. We’ll see. My Note 3 is supposed to be here on Saturday, so I’ll post an update if I get it.

      • Get off your high horse, you’re obviously suffering from oxygen deprivation spending too much time up there.

  • What would be a fair resale price? Isnt MRSP like 799? So maybe 575 or 600 fair? Im seriously asking so hopefully everyone wont bash me. THanks

    • $700 is VZW’s full retail price….BBuy marks it up another $100. The going rate on Swappa prior to today was like $660ish

    • MRSP is $699.99 before tax. You can go to Swappa and check the listings there to get a great idea on what is a reasonable price

    • On eBay, I’d go for slightly below the average price so I can get rid of it quicker. To a someone that knows I got this for $200, I’d ask for $350-400.

    • Resale value shouldn’t be determined based on the MSRP. There are a lot of other factors that come into account.

Check out Swappa if you want a good indicator of what the going rate is for just about any device when it comes to the resale market. The range on the G2 currently sits at $490-$535, and that range includes some new devices. I would expect that the average going rate for a new one will drop over the next few weeks given that so many people will be trying sell the ones they received from Amazon.

  • Man, good thing I ordered the GS3 on top of the GS4. I never got charged for the GS4 (eventually got cancelled) but I decided to go for the GS3 anyway. Good call…hopefully.

  • Wish Amazon would release some kind of statement on what they are doing. This was a pretty massive glitch. How do I know they don’t come back a few days from now asking for full payment? They need to clear up what happened and why some are accepted and others cancelled.

As for me, still waiting on the S4 in “shipping now”

    • It probably has to do with whether or not you were charged (Says the guy that was charged)….

      • chat, they “reversed” the order, but they put it on for the current price, not the price I ordered it. I’m now on the phone with customer service, but I can barely understand what they’re saying and I’m hoping they understand me if I talk really slow.

  • dang it! I’m always missing out on crap like this! First the verizon glitch…twice! Now this! uuuugggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! Kellex…you need to send out text alerts when stuff like this goes down!!!! 🙂

  • If anyone is willing to sell me their unopened G2 from this deal (Black, 32GB, Verizon) for whatever (reasonable) markup from the $200 Amazon price, I would really like to buy. Would prefer it through Swappa or eBay to be safe for both parties, but would buy right away through these if possible! If you are interested after you receive your phone, please create a Swappa or eBay listing and email me to let me know right away! My email is just4747@gmail.com. Thank you!!

  • If you are looking to sell your device you just purchased, please Email me or respond to this comment!

      • People would be wise to not sell till next week since the $449 unlocked sale is still going at Verizon. Unless they’re planning on severely undercutting. If mine ship I might just give them to my parents who are on Verizon and stuck with iphone 4

  • I also got confirmation that my Verizon and AT&T LG G2 shipped!!!!! WOW. If this helps, I purchased my phones at 7:22 am pacific time. Not sure when the cut off time was.

  • If anyone is interested in trading their pilfered Verizon Moto X for a new, sealed, in-box Nexus 5 please let me know.

      • Ben I overnighted mine because I figured there was some sort of mistake. Glad I did. I think they may have went out the door before the error was caught or at least that was my theory for the overnight shipping.

        • Sams’s Club had the Asus MemoPad7 32GB for $99 back in Aug/Sept but it was far from a N7. I kinda thought Google and Asus might have tried to get out a reduced-cost N7 variant for $150ish for the holidays to compete with all of the cheap no-name Android tablets.

  • Bought 2 Note 3’s to see if this actually was legit or not.
And a couple hours later ….
BOOM, Status = Shipped via Fedex
What a day in the books.

  • I am wondering if AMZN just didn’t get around to cancelling some of these in time, and will cancel mid-shipment.

  • So I imagine most people are going to be selling theirs? Are you going Swappa or eBay? Are you gonna undercut or try to be fair about it?

    LG G2, Black (Verizon Wireless)
    Sold by Amazon.com LLC

  • I already have a ‘Root LG G2’ folder on my desktop ready and waiting with all the files I need; drivers, recovery images, CleanROM, etc…… =)

    • Give the stock ROM a try for a bit. Like me, you might be pleasantly surprised by it. I’m rooted, so I was able to flash a few statusbar and navbar mods, and I manually debloated a bunch of crap, but otherwise I’m stock and absolutely love it (and I’m one of the biggest AOSP/vanilla Android fanboys out there).

    • I’m rolling with stock and Nova launcher. LG actually has some useful things going in this UI. Knock On and the pop up messenger and phone box is really worth keeping!

  • Wonder how the guy who lied for an hour and threatened a lawsuit feels now with all of these orders shipping?

Who knows, maybe he was the push for them to do it!

  • Ok this is going to be so painful if it gets cancelled now. I am the least effective worker ever.

  • Ordered Verizon Note 3 and now showing shipped via UPS….Package has left seller facility and is in transit to carrier – November 7, 2013 1:57:59 PM

  • My white GS4 changed from shipping now to preparing to ship. Then about 3 minutes later, it has shipped with a tracking number. 2 day delivery. I’m at work so I don’t have time to post pic but I’m pretty happy right now. Hopefully I can start being productive now.

  • I also just received shipping confirmation for my 3 Galaxy Note 3s with a supposedly guaranteed delivery of tomorrow (Friday)

  • Just got shipment confirmation!

2x Samsung Galaxy S4, White (Verizon Wireless)

Did 2 day prime shipping (not 1)

  • Bummer, didn’t get anything good, but I did get an email my Galaxy S3 has shipped – $99.

  • Phones have been “shipped”!!!!! Woo-hoo!!!!!!!!!!

One S4 had 1 day shipping while the other had 2 day.

  • Your Amazon.com order of “Samsung Galaxy Note 3…” has shipped!

Your Amazon.com order of “Samsung Galaxy S4, White…” has shipped!

  • oops mine went from Shipping now to preparing for shipment. Card is already charged. Black S4 on vz

  • I’m fully expecting all of the orders to be canceled, but of the three orders I placed, the only once canceled thus far is the VZW G2 that was out of stock when I ordered it. The ATT G2 and VZW S4 are not yet canceled.

  • My Moto X order just changed to shipping now! It was stuck at preparing for shipment for like 4 hours so hopefully this is a good sign.

  • Thanks DL! First for your review of the G2 and for this sale notice. Picked one up this past Sunday for the wife (from a 4S 😉 ) Called Big Red today and got a price adjustment. $100 credited to my account. Thanks again!

  • At 2:52 PM, My two orders were Shipping Now and One was in preparation. At 2:57 PM, The one in preparation also turned to Shipping now.

  • My NOTE 3 has been showing as “Shipping Now” on Amazon for the past 3 hours or so. I ordered at 9:56 am Central Time.

    • Same. I’m guessing they just are canceling orders 1 phone at a time. The G2s seem to all be canceled, so maybe they’ll move onto the Notes next.

  • While I’m fully expecting my order to be cancelled (white S4, ordered late in the game with next day shipping, status: Shipping Now), if that ends up not being the case, I wonder if Amazon is taking the timing and quantity into consideration when canceling orders. I.e. people who got “greedy” and ordered numerous phones to take advantage of the glitch are getting cancelled, but those who were more modest are being let though.

  • Just purchased through Verizon. Used promo code: TECHBAR for $50 off, so the phone was basically free (minus the $30 “upgrade fee” – with Indiana state tax, total was $32.10).

    • no one gives a shiz about those tho… don’t mock the poor people who are grieving over their cancelled G2s at this sad time!

  • Holy crap my order is showing Shipped with 2 Note 3 orders. I chose next day shipping. How the heck do you attach a screen shot?

  • Just let 1,000 orders go through for good PR and eat the half million. Oh yeah that’s happening :/

  • Well that was fun while it lasted. My G2 Order was just cancelled. My GS3 lives another day.

  • My order was cancelled. Amazon is destroying a lot of hard earned good will today. I’m not saying I’ll stop using my prime, but probably won’t be my default choice anymore.

  • My status just went from “Preparing for Shipment” to “Shipping Now”!….I think the early-birds are going to be ok. 🙂

    • It’s a nice thought, but I doubt it. I’ve been at that stage for several hours on my Note 3 and GS4 but am not getting my hopes up.

      • Why would it go forward and not just be cancelled…I think there’s some hope. Amazon must not be notifying those warehouses fast enough 🙂

    • I just called Jeff… He said he’ll ground planes if a G2 made it out the door for $200! He will sink ships for Note 3s at $299…

    • Mine just returned to “preparing for shipment” from “shipping now.” We’re going down, bro!

  • My backordered G2 was canceled by Amazon. I called and complained to the Amazon Wireless dept and they gave me a $30 gift card for my troubles.

They said they canceled everybody’s order during the 20 minute glitch window. However, my other orders that were in stock say “shipping now”. Hoping for the best.

  • For those with cancellations – is the full amount of authorization still on your card? Those can take days to remove…

  • Everyone who is saying their orders are canceled: What was your order status at the time? So far it seems like the people who are in “Shipping Now” haven’t got the boot.

    • When I ordered mine it said it was out of stock but they would ship when it became available.

      • My Moto X was shipping now then when back to preparing for shipment. So a cancellation email is coming soon.

    • yea only for the “not yet shipped” folk. “shipping now” is still live. I can only assume that’s a technicality though, they need to go through the process of crediting accounts and such. I hope I’m wrong

    • I’m assuming that it will occur to shipping now status folks too, which I am in the same boat.Even if you’re in the shipping now stage, amazon allows you to cancel your order. That tells me it’s not too far down the process to cancel.

      • I don’t get it, it seems like most other companies honor their mistakes instead of pissing everyone off. I was really hoping I could get this, we all know Verizon screwed up recently but actually let people keep their phones. Probably because they know they at least have a 2 year contract signed.

  • I’m going to go out on a limb and say the only reason many of ours haven’t been cancelled yet is they have to reverse the charge. All is well. This is the way cancellations go. I will say this caused me to second-guess the phone I want. I’m considering the G2 or the One over the N5 and this just made it that much harder.

    • Funny psychology about decision making…I am very happy with the N5 and did not want to lay out $600 for a phone…but seeing this today it was like “omg did I make the right choice??” and that has lingered even after cancellation, lol/

  • Just heard from amazon, they are not honoring the $199.00 price, order has been canceled 🙁

  • I have one verizon and one at&t LG G2 still “Shipping Now.” Have not received any cancellation emails. Crossing my fingers!

  • Just got the following email from Amazon. I had two (2) LG G2 on order that had the status “Not Shipped” stating I will get a email when it does. Now I also have a Note 3 still on Order with the status “Shipping”. Still hoping.

    Hello,

We’re contacting you about order #115-6978033-******. Unfortunately, we recently discovered that an error caused the following item(s) to be displayed at an incorrect price:

    Sincerely,

    Customer Service Department
    Amazon.com

  • I ordered a LG G2, A Note 3, and 3 Moto X’s for verizon. They sent me an email saying my orders are cancelled due to a glitch. I called up customer service told them the money was taking out of my account(which it was) and that I already cancelled my ATT line to move over to verizon and just payed a ETF of over $300 dollars and if this wasnt honored I will be filing a civil suit and will spread the word and story of this horrible process and brought up the verizon honoring the unlimted data glitch and low and behold THEY PROCESSED THE ORDER!! SHIPPING TOMORROW! the second they advertised it on the website they have to honor it. CALL THEM UP AND DONT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER

    • I just can’t lie that well. It was clearly a glitch, it wasn’t like a car dealer where they bait n switch.

      • I spoke to 5 managers even head of Customer Service. They werent going to give in till I told them I cancelled my ATT contract for these. Thank god this happened on my day off I been on the phone for over an hour. But was worth it. Meet me at Swappa.com lol

        • Really, you spent an hour on the phone yelling customer service managers just to get your phones so you can flip them on Swappa?

          Scumbag.

          • I’ll keep the G2 and give the Moto X to my nephew. I guess I going to be the Scumbag who sells them for $100 dollars more to give them to people who cant pay $500 + for a device and doesn’t want to lose there unlimted data. Yea….I am that kinda scumbag.

          • Yeah because we totally believe you, internet man. Especially after you straight up lied like a child to Amazon.

          • You do know you a writing this on a internet android enthusiast website. What if I end up selling them for legit $100 dollars more than what I paid. What If I am truly an android lover who wants to get android into as many hands as possible? Me selling the Note 3 can to somebody with an OG droid who doesnt have $800 to pay for it will be worth it.

          • Unlimited data should be a fundamental human right.

I believe when you spread the data around, it’s good for everybody.

          • Sure thing…

Post your Swappa link for the Note 3 and the other two Moto X’s back here when you list them.

You sir, are a giant nozzle of douche.

          • How many order’s did you put in? I bet you my Moto X that I just got confirmed to ship from this fiasco that you are called amazon saying what this guy said. Let me guess you aren’t going to sell your phone right? Just keep it for a rainy day. Congrats you are the most hated person on DL today.

          • My order for 3 Moto X’s just shipped. Gonna sell them all for a profit. I seen over 300 comments people saying there gonna sell there’s. Are we all scumbags? I sware you are the worst kind of jack@ss there is. I hope somebody robs your phone so I can sell you my Moto X for $500. you worthless scumbag 🙂

        • That’s horrible dude. I hope they somehow see your message. And no, I’m not a bitter guy who didn’t get in on the deal (I have a shipment pending) but if they were to cancel it, it clearly was a mistake and I wouldn’t hold it against them. I love Amazon, I buy nearly everything from them, and if they cancelled my order, i would still shop from them. You are why we can’t have nice things. /smh

          • I do too, especially since he made this handy dandy post confessing exactly what he did.

Complete with his first and last name too…

          • So you are going to snitch on this dudee? That is what you made it seem like and I am sure they are most likely about 200 people that are currently on the phone with Amazon right now saying WORD FOR WORD what he said and are getting there orders shipped. If this kid leaves a comment stating magically they now wont ship it they will be ALOT of pissed off people blowing you up…me included. …You kind sir, need to jump off a bridge..

          • You guys are all mad at this guy because he actually was smart enough to figure out a way around? Ben Murphy if you are such a good guy why didn’t you call up amazon to alert the glitch? or are you the loser who did call up to make sure people couldn’t take advantage of it? In that case I am sure there are alot of people that hate you right now.. The reason why you cant have nice things is because you are prob broke couldnt spend $200 and missed it and now you are acting high and mighty. Scott you are just a troll.

          • No correction. YOU are the reason people can not have nice things. Somebody living paycheck to paycheck’s whole year would of been made to get a Moto X for $200 but it is jackoff’s like you that ruin it. Your beloved company made a mess up. They should pay for it. Simple as that.

          • Obviously you didn’t read what I wrote. Why would I call if I got in on it. While I am trying to take advantage of it, I wouldn’t blame them if it got canceled. We all know it’s a glitch. I would never call and lie to them to make them honor the deal. That’s my opinion. I guess good on him for making them reverse their decision. I guess i really can’t be a hater.

          • Verizon is a Multi-BILLION dollar company for example they made a mistake same as amazon and they honored it. I defend this kid he took advantage of it. So you just stated you are trying to take advantage of it? So you and this dude are no different. I am assuming you currently have a phone at the moment? Why do you need another? You will most likely sell one and make a profit….

          • I have an S4 on the Installment Plan through Verizon. I have $350 to go on it, so yes I would sell it for that much to take care of the rest of the agreement. That’s not being shady at all, and I wouldn’t make any profit.

    • That’s amazing. Congrats! No way for them to check either. I’m sure they will be swamped with calls now.

    • YOU ARE MY HERO!!! I SWARE I COULD KISS YOU RIGHT NOW! AFTER CANCELING MY ORDER THEY ARE NOW GOING TO SHIP MY NOTE 3! TANK YOU TANK YOU!

  • My two orders are still “Shipping Now”. The Amazon account is shared and I don’t have access to the account email so I guess I won’t know if it’s canceled till they take it out of the orders page.

  • Well, I see everyone’s being cancelled, so I’m in a less foul mood. Sorry Amazon copped out on this. I do hope Verizon has an upgrade glitch before the 11th. LG G2 for $49.99 is amazing, but losing my unlimited data is not an option.

  • If some people get theirs, and others don’t they will have a huge shitstorm to clean up. What are my legal options….

    • Just complain really loudly that they failed to honour your agreed upon price, acted in bad faith, etc. Might get you a cheap phone.

  • Just checked the Verizon Note 3 on Amazon. It’s $779.99. Why would anybody pay that when you can get the developer edition from Samsung for $699.99. Although it is on back-order from Samsung. Hopefully they will have some more in soon.

    • That’s the way Amazon’s off contract prices usually are. It’s because they want to discourage people from buying off contract. They’re an authorized retailer that makes their money off signing people up for new contracts. If they don’t jack up the off contract price, they’ll pretty much just be breaking even on off contract sales.

  • Still so bummed about this. The G2 would have been perfect for my wife due to it’s battery prowess. Again, anyone who got in on the G2 with AT&T I will pay $300 for it.

  • I ordered the g2 when it went out of stock and it got cancelled but i ordered the s4 when it was still in stock and it still says shipping now and my credit card has been charged for the s4, but was never charged for the g2

  • Amazon would have lost tons of money if they honored these orders. Maybe a small percentage of people will slip through the cracks and still get theirs.

      • Don’t worry, I missed out too. Missed out on the Verizon “glitch” as well. My indecision is losing me money. Love the Star Wars reference though.

    • That’s the question of the ages. Depends on what you want in a phone. I think the consensus is – Get the Moto X for a very useful stock-ish minimal-ish experience. This is as close to a Nexus Verizon has right now. Get the G2 if gaming, movies, performance and such is a priority. The specs can’t be beat right now. It also currently has a much better camera. The Samsung-esque software isn’t always awesome though.

My personal preference is a rooted G2. I’m not sure I’d ROM it, but a few mods and a launcher could go a long way.

    • That’s bull. It’s their mistake; they made a contract with you and you paid them. Try to fight it and see if they’ll still honor it.

  • Cancelled my G2’s “Item not yet shipped”

My GS4’s “Shipping Now” are still live.

I have no faith though. They got burned so bad on this, there’s no way they let it slide.

  • Cancelled. I placed my order almost right when this was reported, there were about 25 left in stock at that time.

  • those that got cancellations (myself included) were they for orders that had “not yet shipped” or for orders that said “shipping soon”..? my “shipping soon” orders still haven’t been cancelled, “not yet shipped” was cancelled. Assuming it’s only a matter of time tho

  • Just got a notice from Amazon that they are canceling my order, here is what the message stated:

    • Got a cancellation email. if anyone gets a g2 and wants to let me buy it off them, that would be nice ^_^ haha

  • Amazon’s pricing policy

“With respect to items sold by Amazon, we cannot confirm the price of an item until you order.

We generally do not charge your credit card until after your order has entered the shipping process or, for digital products, until we make the digital product available to you.”

  • One of my Note 3 orders that hadn’t been processed and still had the status “Not Yet Shipped” was just cancelled. The other order with the status “Shipping Now” has no been cancelled yet. Here’s hoping that order goes through.

  • My Nexus 5 is arriving today! But I purchased 2 LG G2 on Verizon, 2 Moto X on Verizon, and 2 LG G2 on AT&T but I still feel bummed out as I didn’t grab the Note 3 for $299.99 that might have made me get rid of my Nexus 5. (Just battery life consideration, prior Nexus 4 user).

[I’m on Straight Talk] I am thinking of keeping the LG G2 on AT&T for that LTE on Straight Talk, what do you all think?

How are the vanilla ROMS on the G2?

    • Please blame me haha, Because I would have ruined this 4 hours after it happened. Because they had no clue still that this was going on. You got your orders in they are either keeping them or getting rid of them, those of us who missed it can take what chances we have left.

  • I got my kids each a Galaxy S3 (one blue / one black) for Christmas for $99.99. All the other deals were already gone, but these will still make a great Christmas present!

    • GS3 is still an awesome phone. My wife loves hers and she got it on contract a few months ago even with the GS4 out.

  • On a related/sketchy note, you can buy the G2 for $0 on contract, cancel the contract and end up paying only the $350 ETF (less than the 32gb Nexus 5).

    • I like it but don’t trust VZW. They will pull out the legalspeak “Oh you have a premium PREMIUM device $500 ETF bwahaha”. Plus don’t you have to pay taxes & activation fees on new contracts anyway?

      • I’ve done something similar before. When the GS3 came out I paid the ETF on my line and opened a new one with the GS3. As long as you pay your ETF, they don’t care. There’s nothing they can do about it.

  • Just called in to try get the 249.99 GS4 price that just showed up. She said they cannot honor that price because it is a glitch in the system. Hopefully since it worked to order them earlier you guys will all get your phones.

  • Pays to be a droid life reader got three g2 for 600 bucks first the unlimited glitch now this just goes to show that the best Android site is droid life

  • Someone should order a regular priced one at $699 and tell us how long it takes for it say shipped. DO IT FOR SCIENCE.

  • Can this post match the comment total of the Verizon glitch weekend?!?!?!? Make it happen people!

  • The Droid MAXX was showing $299 off contract for a little bit as well. I had it in my cart and waited a few minutes before it got updated as not available.
I really want a Moto X and wasn’t sure about getting a MAXX instead. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

    • I saw that and bought it, I hope they don’t cancel, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the order gets nuked

  • Theory. Verizon is paying Amazon to do this to get people like *me* at Verizon for a little while longer. Maybe the AT&T G2 was the only mistake. 😉

  • I wonder how much they’d lose if they shipped them but said they were limiting it to 1 per person

      • many have been in “shipping now” status most of the morning now. mine for have been for probably almost 2 hours now. who knows what will happen.

        • Not trolling, I did something similiar with a motherboard pricing error from slick deals and they did not honor

          • This is direct from Amazon though. Many pricing mistakes are resellers that Amazon does not control.

          • I am confusing you, I saw the deal on slickdeals, the link was directly to Amazon, the item was described and priced, I ordered, it ended up being a mistake and Amazon did not honor. Amazon made the error,

          • Yes but you have to look at the sold by part on the amazon web site. They have a lot of merchants that use Amazon as their web ordering. I had the same thing happen where I ordered something and order was canceled because of price but it wasn’t sold by Amazon so I wasn’t that upset.

Whereas these phones were listed as sold by Amazon

          • Exactly – What Josh B said. Very rarely are the price mistakes directly by Amazon. Believe me I frequent slickdeals and have been through MANY MANY cancellations. I have a good feeling about this one for some reason.

          • This is the first one I’ve been a part of that was a pure Amazon mistake so it’s tough to say. I do purchase from Amazon Prime constantly and the notifications for the shipping vary pretty drastically. It could be this evening before it is marked as shipped. It’s not like these orders are going to eek through the system. They have a decision to make and we’ll find out soon if they decide to be nice.

  • The site says: Your account will only be charged when we ship the item. My card has been charged, but I haven’t received a tracking number. Hope I get it soon.

      • They shipped my Moto X for delivery tomorrow and my Note for delivery Saturday… Weird. Two different carriers, different days.

  • Although I am hopeful, I doubt Amazon honors the orders. You are talking losses in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Maybe a few get out of the warehouse, if you are lucky.

    • How many do you think they really sold? Amazon spent $60 billion last year. Even at 500k that’s nothing. Would still be surprised if they accepted the orders though…

      • wasn’t their profit loss or whatever the last few quarters somewhere around -20 million or something? 500k is pretty significant when you view it with respect to a number like that.

        • Good point. Amazon’s net income last year was $39 million. So you are talking about just under 1/80 of there net income. That’s pretty significant.

      • When you factor in the ‘mistake’ was made on multiple devices, I think $500,000 may be a conservative estimate. Unfortunately, even the largest corporations don’t enjoy losing even that much money.

      • I hope you are right. But consider the ‘mistake’ was made on the G2 for Verizon and AT&T, Moto X, S4, S3, and Note 3.

      • if you assume they’re losing $400 per phone, even 200 is an $80,000 loss. i ordered three. many others ordered multiple.

    • I believe you have to honor the price. Reason I say this, if you scan a coupon and get $5 off when the coupon says $1, that’s the store or manufacturer’s responsibility. Same situation here.

  • Mine says Shipping now. but still no tracking number. Now the next coments to look out for is if people have tracking number lol

  • This could mean the Nexus 5 is coming to Verizon, Monday, with a bigger battery. What do you think of that?

  • YOU CAN STILL USE THE “VZWDEAL” CODE AND GET THE LG G2 FOR FREE!

quick note -> This was on an upgrade

  • It looks like you can keep your unlimited plan through Amazon if you upgrade. Confirm?

  • I’m pretty sure they are going to ship, cause once they are in the shipping process it’s hard for Amazon to stop them from shipping

    • I bought 2 without asking my woman. She seems fine now knowing that I made a solid profit once they sell.

      • It’s not about that. She wanted to buy this for Christmas for me and I decided not to pull the trigger because I was waiting on her response (in case she brought already or something).

  • after listening to Jeff’s biography (via audible nat) I can assure you that they are not going to ship these phones!!

  • just bought an LG G2 from verizon iconic portal for $450!!! preserving unlimited data. good bye gnex

  • it doesn’t even look like amazon did anything. people just bought all of the phones until the stock ran out. everyone asleep at the wheel over there? crazy.

  • my 2 G2’s are “shipping now”! fingers still crossed, looks like it’s gonna happen and Amazon is going to honor this “glitch” if that’s what it was. BTW, has anyone proposed that this may be a Black Friday deal that the pages accidentally went live for by mistake? Would explain why all the other phones like Moto X and S4 were also deeply discounted. Just a thought.

    • It could be, but the prices that were listed all seemed to be the on-contract upgrade costs, albeit instead posted as off-contract.

      • @luminair:disqus that’s a good catch, i hadn’t noticed that. Isn’t the G2 on verizon $149 on new contract though? that might not even be relevant, just speculating

  • If you are ordering on contract from verizon it is free with 2 year renewal when you enter code vzwdeal…

  • OK, maybe a dumb noob question: if you buy a Verizon phone off contract, can you just switch out your current verizon sim into the new phone? Or do you have to go to verizon and have them activate the new phone on your existing line?

  • Wow $199 off contract… At that price you could get both the Verizon and AT&T version to compare the networks and keep the one you like the best… That is if they were still available…

    • Same here buddy! For once I actually got in on one of these deals… I always hear of them, but never get in on them in time. I guess there’s a first for everything. 🙂

    • they have to. it’s not our fault they made a mistake. if i sell you something, then realize i was shorting myself, I have no right to go back and ask for said product back in return. credit cards have already been charged. verizon made the same glitch and they honored their mistake as well

        • fairly certain they do. once the transaction has actually been charged (money exchanged). that product now belongs to you. I’m not a lawyer so don’t quote me

          • Nope. see Wal-Mart yesterday. This happens all the time with online purchases, retailer screws up, apologizes, too bad so sad.

      • you obviously have never ordered anything to then have it cancelled shortly afterwards due to pricing mistakes or out of stock…

        • you have? and were you charged for it and then refunded? and reason for refund was a pricing mistake? if so, i stand corrected.

          • yes, multiple times I’ve had orders canceled. there’s always something in the fine print.

          • very interesting. thanks for enlightening. I honestly can’t believe that the purchase isn’t binding once the transaction has been processed.

      • Not that I don’t agree, I just don’t want people to get there hopes up. Amazon will stop the packages if they haven’t begun to ship yet or if the labels were just generated.

And when Verizon did it, it was a bigger problem because it was an entire weekend. And no one did anything wrong there. A glitch in the system which allows you to keep a feature isn’t the same as a glitch heavily discounting the product.

If people actually get there devices, congrats. If not, I’m not surprised.

  • Do you lose unlimited data if you activate one of these $199 off contract? What if you want to “Add a line” to those old family plans? $30 for 2GB?

Just want to avoid that share everything garbage.

    • No, because you bought them off contract. It would be like if you got it from eBay or Swappa. It’s a phone that is not connected to a contract.

  • Damn, looks like I missed the price mistake. Hell, for $199 off contract I would have bought two for at&t and gotten off of Verizon.

  • verizon says “upgrade existing plan” if i try to get it offf contract. will this ruin my unlimited data…?

  • No longer available…AT&T version is not available either. Looks like it was indeed a glitch. Or perhaps the phones went like hotcakes.

  • i only see ‘sign up to be notified when this item becomes available’
am i too late to the party? did they pull it?

  • For those that missed out on Amazon, entering code VZWDEAL makes this free on verizonwireless.com.

  • they will 100% honor the sales. if your card has already been charged, you’re good to go. no way will they retract. they will take responsibility for the glitch, and those of us who took advantage will profit. end of story.

  • They just said that these orders will be caught at the last “checker” and ultimately not honored, so it’s not safe to go by the shipping status in your account… oh well

  • This blows – got in for zero. Stuck with my Gnex (which I have been slamming quite a bit lately – probably b/c the phone is done)

    • glitch. i’m still betting this isn’t allowed to happen. i can’t imagine. for me alone, on 3 phones they’re losing like $1300. do the math..

      • I placed an order for two Note 3’s and one of the statuses just changed to “Shipping Now” so it looks like these orders are being honored!

        • yeah i know all of mine are that status too. i still don’t think these actually leave the warehouse..

    • you shipped overnight right? I wanted to get my order in really fast so I clicked through and couldnt change from 2 day dang

          • Did you get a Note 3 as well?! I’m so friggin pumped right now! I bought two of them but I’m having payment issues with the second one I ordered, but I suspect that’s because of my debit card being stupid.

          • I wanted the Lg2 then searched for motox both were already shut down, the S4 was by pure accident that i saw it. I hope the Note 3 is honored for you

          • I had ordered two Note 3’s and a G2, but decided to cancel the G2 order for another Note 3, but when I cancelled it and went to place the new order for the Note 3, they had already fixed the pricing issue for both phones. Was kinda mad at myself for not placing the order first and then canceling the G2, but whatever… two Note 3’s at @ $299 is amazing.

          • This is amazing… I’m kicking myself for ordering two Note 3’s separately instead of two as one order, but still… gonna sell this for $650-700 new in box hopefully. Also gonna return my G2, reactive my old iPhone 4 until Monday when Verizon get’s MotoMaker, then gonna place my order for a brand new Moto X. Yay for Amazon glitches! 😀

  • grrrrrr… I was only able to snag a Samsung GS3 for $99.99…
all others were sold out.. NOw the waiting game to see if order is honored or cancelled.

    • I can’t believe some people bought 5 of them. That’s crazy. I only bought two and considered keeping one.

          • Agreed. I got the S4 right when it was released then used an upgrade on another line for the G2 and gave that person my S4. I have to say, as much as I enjoyed the S4, the G2 is awesome and the winner in my book. I’m hoping LG is on top of it with KitKat or we get reliable CyanogenMod builds.

          • same here. don’t think we’ll have too hard a time flipping these for G2’s elsewhere tho…

      • That pisses me off. A new G2 would’ve made a nice Christmas present for my wife to replace her ancient Motorola Bionic, but people are such greedy bastards. I bet 90% of these end up on Swappa or eBay for $500. :-/

      • I missed out on the unlimited data glitch. So I’am flipping two and keeping two = free phones

        • Really? It’s not capitalism to exploit a resource for personal gain and sell it to other people? Ummm… that’s textbook capitalism. That’s how profits are made, that’s how our entire country functions. Buy up resources and sell them back at higher prices.

Come to think of it, there’s an entire market based on this philosophy. Oh yeah, it’s called the stock market. Buy stocks, drive up the price and sell them for a profit.

  • So I’m in for 1 ATT G2. This should be easily unlocked to work on TMobile right? So excited – says preparing for shipment and I’ll be getting it Saturday.

    • Proof?

I’d also like to state, I’m an attorney, and I will argue with Amazon that they have a contractual obligation. That usually goes pretty far. Through around some legal jargon and they cave.

      • In Amazon’s Conditions of Use:

“With respect to items sold by Amazon, we cannot confirm the price of an item until you order. Despite our best efforts, a small number of the items in our catalog may be mispriced. If the correct price of an item sold by Amazon is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.”

        • I bet that I could argue that’s an invalid contract provision. If that were enforceable, Amazon could cancel any order claiming it was a mistake. It vests too much discretion in the offeror. Besides, when advertising something, if someone relies on the price in good faith, they have to honor it, it’s a contract principle. So long as it wasn’t “puffery”. Such as when Pepsi(?) advertised that with enough points you could get a fighter jet.

Besides the fact, Jeff Bezos is really good about satisfying customers. For the few grand Amazon will be out, I’m sure it’s not worth losing a lot of customers, or at the very least, pissing them off.

          • jeff@amazon.com and state how long you’ve been an Amazon customer.

You could state that you somehow relied on this price to your detriment. Or that, you entered into the contract and acceptance is presumed when the order was completed. I’d have to recall back to my contract law days but there’s definitely a colorable argument to be made.

          • Have you seen how many phones people have ordered. I would venture to guess that they could be out $100,000 easily. And honestly how many people here would never buy something from Amazon again b/c we couldn’t take advantage of a glitch in the system.

That being said, I hope you’re right. I have a G2 that says it’s shipping now!

          • You think that much? I mean, I haven’t seen this reported on any other sites, even DL didn’t update to say beyond the G2. So, I’m not entirely sure it’s over a $100k. I mean, $300-$400 off each phone. You think they sold over 200? Maybe. I dunno, but looking at the tax impact, this will be a deduction for them, so really they’d only be out probably < $50k after deductions and credits.

Here's hoping. I will definitely email Jeff Bezos if this doesn't go through and I would encourage everyone else to as well.

  • Just got this from Amazon

We now have delivery date(s) for the order you placed on Nov 7 “Motorola Moto X, White (Verizon Wireless)”
    Estimated arrival date: Nov 12

It looks as though they will honor the order. Prior to getting this email is stated “we haven’t figured out a shipping estimate yet…”

    • I can’t find any other site that caught it… amazon clean up crew is on their way to portland LOL

  • Both of mine still say preparing for shipment. Got prime overnight shipping on both, both have an estimate for tomorrow.

  • so, i ordered 3 S4’s. 2 of them right away, and the other a few minutes later in a separate purchase. for the 2 originals, my card has been charged and i have an estimated shipping date. For the one I was a little slower on to pull the trigger, no credit card charge and a “we’ll notify you when it’s ready to ship” email…hmmmmm…

  • I got in on the phone action below, but I wonder how much Droid-Life will make if these actually ship. Not a bad day’s work, not at all.

  • Guys the easiest way to make sure you get on these deals is. have a smartphone sign up for twitter, follow droid life and have his tweets text you. That’s how I get his news. yes some days it’s a little much but its worth it.

  • I fell asleep for an hour and this happens, sigh, guess I get to keep on keeping on with the Galaxy Nexus

    • Why? It’s a killer off-contract price on an up-to-date phone that beats the circa 2011-era phones that are most common for 4.3″. Absolute worst case scenario is you give it to a kid to use as a VOIP phone/PDA/mini tablet & MP3 player with no service on it.

    • Why? They are going for $300+ used on Ebay. New for $400. They could sell them for $200+ profit easy.

  • I really hope amazon honors these prices. I have 2 friends that are STILL using thunderbolts that are in desperate need of new phones. Got them a pair of S4s at the $200 price tag. They just need phones for a year til their dad’s contract is up then they plan to jump ship from verizon like me eventually.

    • I predict they’ll honor a very early handful of orders just to keep the bad press at a minimum. Then they’ll throw a lousy $20 off orders of $300 and above coupon code to those who got cancelations.

  • Ok, I am looking for some clarification. Can I take a verizon lg g2 pull out its sim card and plop in a tmobile prepaid card and rock and roll? Android Central seems to think so. But they aren’t Droid LIfe. 🙂

  • I was charged the full price.. well discounted price just checked my account so hopefully it will go through.. with that said anyone wanna trade a verizon g2 for the verizon droid mini i just got

  • Bought a G2 two weeks ago thru verizon. Got the price match today for 49.99. Just bought another G2 and White Moto X. All these extra phones! What a good problem to have. No way Amazon honors these orders tho

  • If anyone wants to trade a white S4 for a G2 please let me know. Of course that’s if all these orders go through. I wanted the G2 for my wife and missed it. I’m not trying to profit here but when a deal like this comes up you can’t fault people for taking advantage. I just want a G2 or even the Note 3 for her. Please let me know.

  • In for 4 S4’s, a mini, and an S3. The mini and S3 show estimated shipping dates. The S4’s state”We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We’ll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date.”. Hopefully one of them will ship.

  • Just got a Samsung Fascinate for $90!

    Bahahahahhahahhahahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahhaahahhahahh!

    Send me your trade offers.

  • Not to be a hater or anything, but for folks that actually could have used this, the people that bought 3 or 4 with the only plan to sell them on eBay or swappa, shame on you.

      • LOL. Yeah no doubt. but my Note 3 is on the truck to be delivered today. Would have been nice to get one for $299 off contract, but I’m okay with $199 with a contract :-p
But you know how it is. It’s just that it’s opportunistic and for the people that genuinely missed out cause of it and it sucks

      • Same, the problem is I sat about 15 minutes trying to decide if I actually wanted to G2, by the time I noticed sales had picked up and supply was dwindling and finally pulled the trigger, it was out of stock…

    • There are folks that could also use the money from the phones they sell to pay for their sick child’s hospital bills………..just sayin.

  • ok now we wait for SHIPMENT CONFIRMATION comments on here. mine still says preparing for shipment

  • Sweet deal, I was lucky enough to grab one off Amazon. Thanks for the post good sirs.

    • Same here, got the S4, ah well, still better than the GNex I’m currently staring at on the desk!

    • Verizon, I presume? If by some chance you’d like to unload one of those to me for $300, please let me know.

  • Galaxy S3 for $99 with free 2nd day.(prime account) Just picked up Christmas presents for family. Have confirmed $200 LG G2 OTW also. Am I dreaming?

  • Got 5 S4s but they’re out of stock so I have to wait. Wish I saw the moto x and the Note 3 when the deal arose 🙁

    • Were any 32GB S4’s on any carrier available or were they all the 16GB versions? I passed on a white 16GB VZW S4 in favor of a G2.

  • Be careful, the Purple S4 shows as 199 on it’s page but when you add it to your cart it jumps up to $700. I sped through and ordered it, noticed right after and canceled it.

  • Although i do believe my order will be cancelled that is the same thing that many people said on here about the first and second Verizon glitches. Some companies that are as successful as Verizon and Amazon tend to stick by there errors and take the hit then piss off a ton of people. At least i can hope

  • Willing to bet someone did what I was just about to do.. buy a dozen of them and instantly flip them on ebay/swappa… damn.

    • Pulled the trigger on it. Worst case scenario, I sell it and move on to something else. Good bye GNex.

  • i think 8-9 years ago when stuff like this would actually ship it would be more exciting. but they are going to cancel these orders for sure.

    • Back in, oh, late 1999 or so, right before the .com bubble burst, companies were giving away massive amounts of stuff for free or below cost just to drum up their brands & consumer awareness. This was long before Slickdeals, Twitter etc of course so occasionally those deals would last for more than a few minutes AND they wouldn’t cancel them.

      • i recognize your user name from anandtech if its the same person. i remember back in the hot deals days, all the random free after coupon buy.com deals constant coupons to onvia.com etc, i know back in college someone figured out how to stack staples coupons to get say $100 of stuff for $20 one day and they shipped it . back when farming out your internet orders to ingram micro with no way to recall them was common.

        • I wonder if the people who paid for overnight shipping stand any better chance of sneaking in a successfully shipped order? I doubt it but I have seen where that worked in past pricing error “deals”.

          • I paid for overnight shipping. Both of mine still say preparing for shipment. I’m sure they’ll say that till later today.

  • exactly why i over nighted the 2 i bought. hopefully it’s out the door before they can correct it…..

  • 1) Bought the G2 on amazon for $199
    2) Immediately obtained Gazelle quote of $273 (amazon card)
    3) Get to use the G2 for a month and make $73

God bless the internet (especially you droidlife)!

  • Development is going to skyrocket for this device now…. not that we need it to. Best stock experience out there.

  • Got the white S4, it was my last option, worst case, I don’t like the phone and I’ll sell it on ebay.

  • So who wants to start a rumor this was a big elaborate plan by Verizon to pay off Amazon so they could keep some customers from switching carriers…. DUN DUN DUNNN

  • They have a White Verizon S3 for $99 off contract also. That’s a good price for decent phone. I’m giving my mom my old Galaxy Nexus, but I may get this instead.

    • It took them a while, but they finally fixed the S3 also. I guess I’m not getting one for my mother.

  • Everything has been taken down. Now you have to sign up to be notified when item becomes available. This is for the LG and the white Moto X.

  • they killed my note 3 order right before I hit check out. hopefully my 3 g2 orders go through….

  • These Amazon orders are going to get cancelled. Clearly it’s a price mistake, and they’re removing them as we type.

    • Hopefully they’ll honor them. Amazon has done this in the past, though, and with their track record of great customer service I wouldn’t be surprised if these orders were honored. And for my sake I’m hoping they are honored because I ordered two Note 3’s @ $299 each and one of them is already preparing for shipment.

      • i doubt they’ll honor a loss that will easily total in the tens of thousands of dollars for them.. minimum.

        • Tens of thousands to them is chump change compared to the bad press they would get if the didn’t honor them.

          • I agree with Spindisc, not to mention that just as you said, they’re not going to want to get bad press and/or face the wrath of angry nerds online. 🙂

          • i meant the opposite. that they don’t care about a bunch of internet nerds completely taking advantage of a very obvious error.

          • Oh lol. We’ll see either way, although I’m really hoping they honor it. And think about it, how many people do you think at most got in on this very short deal? Maybe a couple thousand? That’s not much off of Amazon’s bottom line when instead they could turn it around for some (very) good PR.

          • That’s a fair point, but they already have obtained the aura of having great customer service, so people are going to continue buying from them regardless. In my personal experience, their customer service is not what it used to be.

          • That’s also a very fair point, and I definitely agree with you that their CS used to be much better in the past. It seems like a lot of places that used to have good CS in the past have slowly gotten worse (Apple is another example, however that’s not to say they’re bad in the slightest; neither is Amazon).

          • Yeah definitely. I really expect these to get cancelled, with maybe a few lucky prime users getting the shipment out, but it would be a nice surprise if they let these orders go through.

          • Hopefully I’m one of those lucky prime users. 😉 I was going to be returning my G2 tomorrow to pickup a Moto X next week when Moto Maker comes to Verizon, but if Amazon honors the two Note 3 orders that I placed, I will have a tough decision to make.

          • I had the S4 and it’s safe to say I didn’t like it very much except for the camera. Sorry man. 🙂 You’ll still be able to make a good profit off the S4, though.

          • Woah so it looks like they’re honoring these! The status of one of of the Note 3’s that I bought just changed to “Shipping Now!”

And nah I had the S4 and didn’t like it. Thanks for the offer, though. 😉

          • Is the PR really going to be good or bad though? I mean besides the people on boards like this, right now, who will really even know or care? And will people change their Amazon habits one way or the other as a result? I doubt it. I bought a G2 so I really hope they honor but I don’t think PR will factor much in their decision.

          • I dunno, but sometimes even that little bit of PR can make a difference and some companies will jump on whatever can make them look better, even if they’re already known for wonderful customer service. In the end, all I’m hoping for is that they honor the orders. That’s all I’m hoping for lol.

          • fwiw, i’ve gotten several cancelled or incomplete orders from amazon due to seemingly-price-mistakes, and just got a “too bad, so sad” from their CS reps.

      • Amazon has also NOT honored mistaken prices like this. I’ve ordered multiple products at extreme discounts only to have them cancelled and given a $5-15 coupon. I can’t see them honoring this deal, they’re looking like $400 a phone.

          • My LG g2 that was backordered was just cancelled, I have the email to prove it. The s4 that I ordered is still saying shipping now.

          • Same exact situation here. One of my Note 3’s was cancelled (the status was “Not Yet Shipped”), but my other one that says “Shipping Now” hasn’t been cancelled. I’m really hoping at least one of them ships.

        • Just to update, the status of one of the Note 3’s that I ordered (I ordered two) has changed to “Shipping Now” so I’m pretty sure these are being honored.

    • I did just order 2 white S4s, though, since they were the only things left I could see at $200 off-contract. What’s the worst that could happen?

    • Just an update, but my Note 3 that I bought for $299 has shipped, and I am in the process of getting my second order (that was cancelled) reinstated.

  • Looks like they’ve caught on. Note 3 can no longer be purchased. Good thing I placed my order for two of them! One of them already says preparing for shipment!

      • I had the opportunity, but I thought I’d do my wife a favor and tell her about it. She, of course, never responded. Now I’m super annoyed.

        • Marriage Rule #342, Buy first, ask for forgiveness later.

Marriage Rule #343, …. or buy her some nice jewelry too.

          • Oh, that wasn’t it. I was doing her a favor, because she knows I want this as a Christmas gift. She’s stuck paying $500 now, instead of $199. Really, though, I shouldn’t have even bother and brought it myself. So annoyed.

        • first rule on deals like these is buy first think later. should have told her daddy’s gonna bring home the bacon by flipping a few new phones for cash. haha.

        • Yeah I still haven’t told my wife. Pulled the trigger 6 days after buying the N5. Hey what can you do? Worst-case scenario I can sell it assuming it ships.

          • I would have done this, and I just bought a Nexus 5. My wife would have been very apprehensive until I flipped two phones and gave her the third and we ended up netting money (which is very tight right now). Too bad I was working instead of reading Droid Life; won’t make that mistake again! 😛

  • Glad I got my purchase in before it closed! I bet eBay will be flooded with new LG G2’s.

  • Quick question. If I buy the AT&T version, can I use it with an AT&T sim on Straight Talk?

  • Is the off-contract one locked? Can I use it with a european sim?
Sorry to ask such an easy question, but here in Europe the main part of sold phones are off contract, sim free.

  • We’re sorry. The item LG G2, Black (Verizon Wireless) is no longer available from the seller you selected. To see if it’s available from another seller, click here to return to the item’s product detail page :((((((((

  • If you are sitting on an update for verizon and you dont take advantage of this (provided you plan to keep verizon) you’d be stupid not to jump on this.

        • I didn’t see it listed as being part of the package… not that it matters anyway, since they’ve removed both the G2 and X for $199.

          • Do it in store. Either buy the phone in store or go into a store and show them your order and they should give you a free sim card.

  • Just bought 2 at $199! It says out of stock but I don’t mind waiting, now to figure out what to do with them… lol

  • whatever, in for a couple new phones off contract. what the hell. i’m fully expecting amazon to shut this down soon and cancel all orders.

  • whoa. just got mine a week ago .. guess i gotta go to the store and see how to get some $$ back. btw .. the G2 AMAZING phone!!! The battery truly is an energizer bunny.

  • In for 2. I really wanted to wait for Nexus 5 on Verizon ( but who knows if that will ever happen) This way I also get to keep my Unlimited data! Awesome!

  • This is the bonanza of the year—sure beats the VZW unlimited upgrade “glitch” from a few weeks back! I predict they’ll end up cancelling all these orders, of course

    • Sorry but…douchebag. Other people are trying to buy them too, why on earth would you need 4?

      • Keep your mouth shut. Christmas is coming, wats the harm of gifting this phone to my family?

          • Just because your mind works like gutter.. doesn’t mean we all do the same. Second it’s my money I can do whatever I want.

          • Just because your mind lives in filthy gutter, doesn’t mean everyone thinks like that. I got one for me and rest for my family. If I wanted I would have ordered 10 of those

          • It’s not that but lets even if someone does that. What’s the harm. If I wont buy it, someone else would.

  • This is UNREAL, i just bought 2 of them. My wife has needed a phone for 6 months, her D2G has been dying a slow death. If I like hers I’ll retire my GNex. I’ve never seen a deal this good before.

  • Just bought one off contract for att. I received the email. Hasn’t shipped yet. Hopefully amazon honors this.

  • Big question, if I get shipment confirmation from Amazon, can I return my contract g2 today since its my 14th day and keep my unlimited data and everything else and reset back to original contract end date?

    • Thought the same thing. Sigh. Such is the tech world. You buy the best you can when you can and that’s kind of it…

  • Just bought a Black ATT g2 for $199. The white version is still listed at $575. I have a feeling they’ll be canceling our orders :/

  • FOR YOUR NEXT MISSION DROID-LIFE, GET ONE OF YOUR MOST TECH SAAVY READERS TO IMPLEMENT THE UNLIMITED “GLITCH” AGAIN!!!!

  • OK, I asked this at Android and Me but no one has given me a good answer. Since most phones don’t drop in MSRP price on Verizon ever (well, this did and so did the Moto X, but y’all know what I mean), would it be cheaper to get a second line, at a contract price like a penny from Amazon (or $49/99 from Verizon), cancel it and pay the $375 ETF and $35 activation fees, and keep the device? Obviously at $449 it would probably be much easier to just buy the phone instead of going through all of this but I was thinking about doing this in the future if MSRP doesn’t drop for phones.

The best example for the above situation would be a phone for $599-649 on sale for $99 (or less on contract) + 375 ETF + 35 activation = $509 (or less). Of course you may be subjected to a partial monthly payment for your phone service, but if you turned around and canceled it immediately you would be paying for a day’s use or something like that.

I’m really glad to see some phones getting reductions in MSRP, I always would get mad that something is basically free on contract but it never drops in MSRP.

      • Forgetting? More like didn’t know! Well then, guess that means if I try this in the future I will only be doing it through Verizon. I was able to get a $200 G2 from Amazon off contract but we’ll see if they honor this price.

  • Kind of tells you that Verizon has no plans on upgrading to KitKat. They own in, they discount it, they kill it!

  • I went with the G2 during the days glitch and am in love with it. Development is taking up now, too, if you aren’t a huge fan of the LG UI then you can go with AOSP, as well. I definitely recommend this one now that no Nexus 5 on Verizon is confirmed which would have been my only regret in buying this one!).

  • Just got my G2 yesterday. Only negative I can come up with is its a fingerprint magnet. But this phone flies. I love the pop up box for messages and calls, and knock on is awesome!

  • Does anyone know if Verizon has a price match to themselves if it 2 weeks or less since buying phone?

  • damn. for all my verizon friends, this is a great deal for a great phone. the only downside is that you’re with verizon for 2 more years but i understand that not all carriers have coverage like vzw does.

  • Yes! I was waiting for this. Also, I was talking to VZW support. TFWIW. Upgrade with 2gb data. Within 50 days, ask about Verizon Max. They give you 6gb of data for the 2gb price.
