  • The best question is how can we pick up a discounted returned Moto X from the few people that will be returning theirs?

  • Anyone get a code they don’t need. I was going to get one for my dad, he currently has an iphone 4 and this would have been good to try out before he commits.

    Thanks

  • Like
    with tempered
glass screen protector the iPhone, it’s a critical challenge to
find the film to adhere to an iPad screen protector without trapping any
bubbles. So what can you think? If you had an iPad or another slate-style
device, do you bother putting protective film over its screen or can you let it
    go out there naked?http://www.xprotections.com

  • Estimated deliver for me is 6/17 and I will be charged for the phone on 6/28. Not exactly a 14-day test drive, is it? Who cares it’s free.

  • Got in on that Moto X promo code 🙂

Too bad I have an iPhone 5s coming in as well, that iOS 8 looks sweet. Currently rocking an Xperia Z1 Compact.

  • Waiting, and continuously clicking the refresh button. 4 more minutes until 9pm PDT though.

  • Trying to get rid of all those moto x sitting around collecting dust. If it had a better camera, I would have been all over it

    • Only if you break your Note 3 and don’t have enough money to replace it.

  • I wonder if I can design my X right now and since I live in Seattle right at 9pm put the order in. I just want to make sure I get one before the promotion is gone.

  • to bad u only get it for 7 days … they have to ship it to u … unless of course u choose 1 day shipping.

    • From when you receive it the trial starts. Also the 14th day you can tell them to take it back.

    • Sunday night for people on the West Coast. Monday morning for people on the East Coast.

    • old ..but still all of its features are still unique ..not found on any recently launched flagships ..which keeps getting better with updates through play store ..sldi 4.4.3 is rolling out ..moto x is still one of the best devices

  • can i buy one that was used for 2 weeks and returned for a (even more) discounted price 🙂

  • All these offers about the X is just telling me to wait on the next gen version which has to be coming soon by the look of all these fire sales. I wouldn’t touch this deal IMO

  • i switched to at&t about 45 days ago and have been through a iphone 5, note 2, note 3, s4, s5, htc m7, moto x, gear 2 (watch), toq (watch) since the switch. I’ve decided to keep the moto x and toq. why? the moto x’s form factor is perfect and the ability to speak to the phone from 15′ away and have it respond and obey with 100% accuracy is in and of itself a huge selling point for me. i’ve been a huge samsung fan since the s3 and was sold on keeping the s5 and gear 2 combo, but i’ve found the combined use of the toq and moto x to be superior to the s5 and gear 2 for my usage. i purchased the s5 to pair up with the gear 2 to be “active” and have the phone record my motions, but having to charge the phone 1/2 way through the day and the watch every other day has become a chore. i feel the moto x lasts much longer for me than the s5 now using it with a toq and vivofit from garmin.

i use my phone along with groundwire and have 6 additional lines ring through voip. my phone is very important to me. i know a lot of you might thing i’m an idiot for choosing an “inferior” device, but the moto x really is a gem. the best part is i picked it up for $150 on craigslist and the toq for $125. it’s honestly not about the cost, but seeing what motorola was able to do at the pricepoint they released is just amazing. compare that to the $400+ for the note3/s5 and $225 for gear 2. the s5/gear2 combo are not worth $350 more than the moto x / toq combo.

on a side note. i’ve received 6-7 compliments on the toq from all females. i’ve received zero compliments on the gear 2 to the point of my wife noticing the attention the toq gets. i’ve received zero compliments on the gear 2 from anyone. the toq and moto x combo is what im sticking too and I’m actually about to list the note 3, s5, and gear 2 on craigslist next week. I’m going to keep the moto x until the moto x+1 or G3 come down in price on the secondary market. honestly, there has to be something better than the current line of phones… until then, i’m sticking with the moto x.

      • it doesn’t say inside the packaging, but i wouldn’t wear the toq into the shower even if it was waterproof. i actually got yet another compliment yesterday so now it’s up to 7… here in sunny california it’s extremely hard to see screens in direct sunlight, but this mirasol display stands out and really shines. i’ve been using the moto x / toq combo again since my post and it’s what i’m sticking too for right now.

  • Just noticed this in article:

“you can select a 64GB version”

    What 64gb version?

  • I wonder will the wood cost extra or its included in the 1 cent charge if so I’m in !

  • What are the chances of you designing it and you want to return it but moto said we don’t want your designed phone back so you can keep it. I’m doing it anyways.

  • They’re really doing all they can to finish every drop of milk left in this thing. Just announce the new one and put this one on a super discount already geez.

  • They will charge you a penny, but “charge AUTH” the full price. Your CC might deduct that from your available funds immediately. Please note that in the article.

  • I’ll be getting one in Michigan Wolverine colors. If I can. Don’t know if I’ll keep it though.

  • 64GB is very promising. I can’t see them not offering this storage size on the X+1 now.

    • Kind of what I’m thinking…I have a matte black motomaker one now (new $275 via Swappa)…if the wood one I ordered (walnut) is that kick ass, I’ll sell this Swappa one…if not, return time.

Swappa one is only 16gb though, but i have it loaded with everything I need now and still have like 8gb free.

  • Almost bought one with the last deal but no real returns was a dealbreaker. Might try this out now.

What’s battery life like on verizon? I’m coming from a note 2.

    • I got 16 hours on my Verizon motox at first launch in November. Today I get between 13 and 14. I know One guys opinion doesnt speak for the whole group so Take it or leave it as you wish.

    • Battery life is good. I also had a Note 2 and didn’t feel that the battery life was any worse when I switched to the X (maybe even better?). It’s a good phone, but it’s greatest strength for me was near-stock Android and a more manageable size

      • Thanks. Battery life is awesome on my note but I’m looking for something smaller. Just not sure if it’s worth the $375 upgrade.

          • Yeah. That’s what it’ll be for the 32gb with a wood back and tax with the $100 off sale and the trial period coming up.

        • Well you can likely get close to that for your note 2 selling it, would probably be out of pocket maybe $100 at most?

But, battery life in my experience with the x is not good. My g2 and previous note 3 lasted A LOT longer; like twice as long.

Course it could be 4.4.2. With that on my g2 battery life was also pretty bad.

      • Huh? I’ve had the x again now for a few days…been averaging having to charge it 2-3 times a day.

Didn’t have that issue when I had the note 2 a long while back.

That’s the only thing I DON’T like about the x…everything else I really like…but battery life on it stinks.

        • Don’t know what to tell you. Have been using the X since around November without any battery problems. I easily make it through a day with fairly heavy use, and sometimes make it through much of the next day if I forgot to charge it. My typical use may be lighter than yours? Or maybe there’s something wrong with your X?

          • Dunno…I have a walnut one coming next week…well see.

I’m a pretty heavy user, but even like right now. On battery for an hour and a half, 7 min on screen time android os at 32% of battery and I’m at 89%.

Seems like I should still be around 96% or better.

    • No real returns? I bought one back in the black Friday /cyber Monday deal when their site crashed…at that time decided to stick with the phone I had….returned it no problems.

        • Yeah, I definitely returned my customized version a few months ago after about a week. I had no problems at all.

  • I did when it came out, and returned it after 5 days. Don’t get me wrong, it was nice, but I couldn’t give up my 14 month old GN2 performance, features, and battery life. Hoping for better results with the X+1.

    • its a brilliant sales idea ..to get the phone in to the hands of more people.without actually selling the phone with lessprice with flash sales.

  • yup if i get lucky i’ll definitely try it for my wife. she needs a new phone and while we are eyeing the S5, ive thought that maybe the moto X would be a nice fit for her. i guess we’ll see!

  • What are the odds that I can do this deal and get a sweet colorful one, then return it with my dinged up all white one?

      • I mean its kind of fraud… I will return the Moto X… Maybe just the wrong colored one. They probably won’t do anything with the returned ones.

        • Definitely fraud, but I doubt they’d do anything to you, so why not? Worst case scenario is that they realize you sent them the wrong phone, keep the one you sent them, and charge you for the new one.

    • Well, for one it’s fraud and theft. Secondly, phones have many ways to identify them uniquely outside of their appearance…

  • Just received one after taking advantage of the deals lately…then sent it back…

    WiFi and cellular radios didn’t work…at all…

I guess I had a ~6 hour “try then buy”…I am disappointed to say the least…

But I got some free Sol Republic earbuds so maybe all is not lost…

      • Seems the market is moving in that direction (finally). I had to read it twice to make sure I read that correctly. I could use 64GB on my X. 1080p videos and full-res pictures can eat up space in seconds.

So, the X+1 will definitely have a 64GB option if this revised X is being offered with 64GB. Bulk discounts from suppliers, you know.

  • Anyone with an X that got the 4.4.3 update; did it fix the 4.4.2 battery drain issues?

I’ve had both the X and G2 both before Kit Kat and up to 4.4.2 and both before Kit Kat had WAY better battery life than on 4.4.2 and I know from forums/blogs etc like DL that’s its been a commonly reported issue on 4.4.2…hoping someone here that has an X that got the update to 4.4.3 can confirm if it fixed that?

    Thanks!

    • No idea, but I’d like to know. I’m still on 4.4, rooted with Xposed and Gravity Box. The phone is perfect and I’m trying to figure out if I’m going to take this update or not.

  • I kinda wish I could try it, but I really don’t wanna mess with switching out for a nano SIM card.. I wouldn’t want to buy it, I’m happy with my M7, but I’d like to use the Moto X just to experience it.

  • Yea, a lot of calls will be made to customer support on Day 15, once full price dumps onto that credit card

  • The Moto X has had more deals and discount promotions than (insert a device that has had an equally large number of promotions)…

  • I hope everyone who has ever said a bad work about Moto X here – without real first hand experience to back it up – will take advantage of this offer and experience the magic for themselves.

    • I really liked the moto x I bought of CL, but my G2 was better…I liked the little conveniences of the moto x, but I liked the G2 better…might be silly, but I really like the IR ports on my phones.

        • what Ralph
answered I’m in shock that some people can earn $6365 in 4 weeks on the computer
          . visit the site Fiscalpost.COM

  • Man, all these deals are just telling everyone that they really aren’t selling anything and have to resort to whatever sale is necessary to get purchases. Sucks for Moto.

    • I don’t see it that way at all. While I do see how it could be interpreted like that, I think this is Moto just trying to get everyone to fall in love with the device. To me, the Moto X is aging, and the camera is pretty bad at times, but the device feels great in hand. Plus, it has timely updates for Android. Just the ability to customize a device, then try it for two weeks is worth a penny to me.

      • I do find a lot of the moto x features sometimes fail to work. Sometimes when I say OK Google now take me home it launches maps and other times it just Google searches the phrase

          • How so? Google doesn’t write software to interact with touchless control, but Motorola writes it to work with Google search. Unless u mean Google owner of motorola lol

          • Moto’s application is only listening for your prompt and commands while your phone is locked. It is Google’s server that translates it into commands that Google Now must parse. You should instead use a different command like “Navigate Home” or “Navigate to Work”. Google Now isn’t infallible, so it’s still up to the user to make it easier to parse.

      • You don’t see apple or samsung putting massive sales on their flagships. I seriously doubt they would be putting this many sales on the device if it were selling as a S5 does. Don’t get me wrong, I love the phone. My brother has a Moto X and I have a Maxx. Hopefully all of this will spark some love for the new release of the X+1, but it just doesn’t bode well.

        • Motorola is selling to Lenovo.. OF COURSE they will try to sell whatever unit possible until the deal is approved, it’s pretty basic, besides, Morotola

and to be fair ~~13.8M is not a bad number

          • Then release the X+1 sooner, that’s what Sammy and HTC seem to be doing, gets ealier and earlier every year a month or two

          • There is no point to the X+1 if people don’t know the work made with the X

      • Did your research show whether or not this is valid for a Verizon version? I only ask because phandroid specifically says no Verizon option. I trust you guys more on that though.

          • Idk maybe try and push cloud storage and a potential other source of revenue? Who knows its Verizon, nothing they do makes sense to we the consumer.

      • Are you only speaking about this particular sale? What about the other 100 sad sale attempts?

        • They can’t get this phone in anyone’s hands and there are clear reasons for that.

The phone was a flop. They need to move on from it.

    • This is something all companies should do when they’re trying to sell off inventory of last year’s flagship.

    • After I get the device, can I get a discount for it being used after the trial period.

Can’t wait for Moto to offer up a haggling price form like a car lot

  • That’s a pretty sweet deal. If I didn’t already have the maxx I would do it.
