There are 20 days left in December, so as you can imagine, many of us are starting to look back at the year that was and reflect by putting together our top lists of phones, apps, etc. Google is no different. They too like to look back and see the trends of 2014, only they have this neat little marketplace called Google Play that is filled with useful information ripe for the sharing. And so, they have used it for that purpose, to create a look back at the year in entertainment.
The infographic below walks through everything from apps to games to movies to TV shows and beyond. In each, you will see things like the most downloaded app by category (Pandora still number one in Music), most downloaded games (Candy Crush Saga…), movie and TV show of the year, most read articles on Newsstand, and the books that dominated 2014.
You will find the infographic below. Once you take a look, feel free to share your favorites from each category in the comments below.

Of course NFL Mobile is on there, Verizon forces that onto every single phone 😉
Just about the worst thing I could have seen in this graphic: TMZ is the 2nd most popular source for “news”.
The news thing seems off. If you pull up the google new app, it seems they “promote” certain news outlets over others. On the flip side, there are still A TON of new outlets not on play newsstand. So I think that’s why you see TMZ as No. 2 on most popular.
that forbes now is #3 just shows what useless counting they did and further reinforces how horrible and overrated newsstand is
and p.s. while AC is a kool site, droid life etc should be up there way ahead on the list
Kim K just drank a smoothie. I’m now number 3 in most popular news sources.
Still waiting for the news article of the kardashian private jet crash over the ocean and never to be found again
