Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge Promo Material for Sprint Leaked

While Sprint decided to post up its own teaser for the Galaxy S6, much like we saw from T-Mobile and AT&T, a “verified employee” who is registered on reddit decided to one up the company, sharing a great shot of the two upcoming devices, including the Galaxy S6 Edge

The banner leaked is for a promotion Sprint is hosting, stating that anyone who pre-registers for the device will be entered for a chance to win on of six GS6 devices for free. Seems like a sweet deal.

While we don’t much care about free phones from Sprint, the shot of the Galaxy S6 Edge is our clearest yet, with its two rounded edges being shown off prominently.

As we near closer to March 1, the phones’ unveiling date, the leaks just keep coming in. If anything else of importance shows up, we will keep you posted.

Excited?

Not excited till I hear about the Specs. I’m most likely holding on to my Note 4.

  2. monkeybutts

The edge model looks nice but I bet it’s at least $100 more.

  3. bogy25

not sure which is more confusing – the s6 edge and the galaxy edge or the blue black dress and the white gold dress…..

  4. Xcalibur1011

Hopefully LG won’t be far behind with the G4 announcement, I would like to compare the two.

  5. rutgersjaffo

But no swappable battery, right? That and no SD slot would be deal breakers for me and a reason to wait for the Note 5 this fall…

  6. I actually don’t hate it. Besides the home button, it looks great.

  7. Daistaar

As beautiful as this looks, I really wonder what the experience is going to be with full screen video. I wonder if video will wrap over the edges or if it’ll be sized to fill the flat portion of the screen. Would not be a fan of the wrapped view (I think… I’d have to see it.)

    1. Bob G

Well, with top and bottom black bar videos, it won’t matter. But I’m hoping Samsung has good software to make videos just show on the front panel only.

  8. OF

That bezel. Still a 6/10 in looks. Would still bang.

    1. flosserelli

      The Galaxy S6 Butterface

      1. Bob G

Still less bezel than 20-feet pole HTC.

    2. PoisonApple31

That’s how I feel about the HTC One M8 and/or your mother.

  9. Adrian

The edge looks good from the renders. Honestly, people who hate Samsung will find a reason to keep hating them. Luckily for Samsung, those people aren’t the overwhelming majority of their buyers. Yes, it has a button, yes it has Touchwiz, no, it’s not made by Motorola… and the general public won’t care.

I hope it sells well for them. The edge is a different looking phone and it looks like it has a solid build to it, two things everyone cried about. They made it and there is still whining. The irony of it is that the people complaining about the button, lag, unicorns were NEVER going to buy a Galaxy anyway, unless it was a GPE device with straight Android, which barely sold when they did offer it. They are smart to stay the course.

    1. jpippo4

Exactly. People complained about bezels /”dat bezel doe”. So what did the do? They made a BEZEL-LESS phone. “Yeah but I hate that cheap plastic feel”. Ok, so they made a phone from metal and glass. “I hate that bogged down touchwizz”…. You get it. The point is people who hate on Samsung are gonna hate on Samsung regardless of the product they release.

      1. Mike

To me the touchwiz argument is outdated, my girlfriend has a GS5 and it runs pretty damn well. Its just a matter of how it looks I guess? No idea.

        1. TeeJay1100

I’m so tired of hearing that argument! It’s like a broken record. Now it will be playing again when these new phones drop. SMH

          1. Mike

Yeah I admit I was one who used to complain about it, but my experience was from a Droid Charge lol, used my friends GS4 and was surprised to see it ran perfectly well. The GS5 even better so I imagine these phones well perform more than fine.

          2. MistaButters

Going from a Nexus 5 to a Note 4, there was some jank. Weird lags and stutters that shouldn’t be there. And they were all over the place.

I love my Note and I’m glad I have it, and sure I more of less got used to it, but stock Android definitely runs a lot smoother. And sometimes I want to spike my Note for the lag/hangs, but sometimes I wanted to spike my Nexus 5 for different reasons.

          3. E. Batista

I’m with you on that. I’m a Nexus 5 to Note 4 user myself, and pretty much kept the Nexus 5 just in case. I’m happy with the Note 4 overall.

      2. Bob G

The best was when Sharp made an awesome minimum bezel phone that only had one big bezel on the bottom and people still hated it. I hate humans most of the time.

    2. TeeJay1100

Exactly, at the end of the day consumers don’t care!!! Folks buy what they like. These tech nuts/geeks go ape nuts over this stuff about Samsung. But it changes nothing.. When your at the top, everybody from everywhere hates! It crazy..

  10. Ben Murphy

1 of 6 you say? So because it’s Sprint, you’re saying I have a chance?

  11. Mike

If the price wasn’t ridiculous, the edge is lookin good. But as with the note edge it’ll probably be way overpriced. Thinking I’ll stick with my Moto X 2nd gen. Loving the update to 5.0.2

  12. Frankiie

    Brace yourselves, lag everywhere!!

  13. madkoda

It’s an odd thing, usually the leaks come from HTC and samsung device
isn’t leaked until a day before or the morning of the announcement.
Maybe this could mean we might be seeing the device purchasable a lot
sooner than previous iterations? BTW did any of you guys see the promo
stuff where you could get cases from spigen and screen protectors for
    like 4.99?

  14. RS5God_Intellectua1 (INTJ)

Someone please do a render with this “expected” redesign you guys are crying about? I’m curious to see what people come up with and actually expected

    1. ThunderJayHawk35

I’ve actually been looking for comparison pics…. Yea looks the same

  15. I was honestly expecting a significant redesign. I guess this explains why HTC was lazy with the One M9 as well.

    1. PoisonApple31

Why would you try to alienate your previous customers to gain new ones? HTC on the other hand is desperate.

  16. dc

still as ugly as ever. i have never and will never have phone envy for samsung, nor will i ever have a desire to even consider their phones.

    1. Daniel Walsh

I know I’m never getting a Samsung phone ever again, I had the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. It looks like the build quality and Touchwiz have finally been improved, but it took them long enough though.

      1. ClikFire

whine whine whine, run along little girl.

        1. Daniel Walsh

Was never going to get one of these phones anyway, but wanted to see what Samsung was up to. What upcoming phone do you want?

        2. Eddie Jr

          Yarell? That you?

          1. EdubE24

No it was ClickFire a few minutes ago…Richard is here up top though!!

  17. David Verba

Man, that thing looks a lot like a Blackberry Storm….

    1. RS5God_Intellectua1 (INTJ)

I had the Storm, Lord knows I wanted that thing to actually work

      1. David Verba

I spent the entire time owning it trying to convince myself (and others) that it did work.

  18. Mordecaidrake

    Lockscreen looks less Touchwizzy

  19. Smartss

    Ew

  20. Good_Ole_Pinocchio

    Leaks… Leaks… Leeaksssss!

    1. Loonytik

      Put em up

    2. bogy25

      Is that the iphone 7?

      1. michael arazan

        No, It’s the HTC M9

  21. ClikFire

The Edge Actually looks more Desirable.

  22. Good_Ole_Pinocchio

Thought you guys were taking the day off. You can’t leave us East Coasters hanging in the mornings!

    1. RS5God_Intellectua1 (INTJ)

West Coast is the best coast..

      1. Daniel Walsh

        AMEN to that.

        1. Try This Again. Nah..

          replygif.net/i/372.gif

  23. Zach Cline

And people still complain . Smdh

  24. Jarl

excited, with the boring crap samsung comes up with, is that a trick question?

  25. Rodeojones000

Excited? Not even a little bit.

  26. RS5God_Intellectua1 (INTJ)

I have a feeling this is the turn around point with Sammy and this thing will sell like hotcakes.

  27. TeeJay1100

    The Champ is here!

  28. Suicide_Note

Those curving sides don’t appear to be doing much in the picture. Hopefully they add some really useful functionality this time.

    1. RS5God_Intellectua1 (INTJ)

From the looks of it they won’t curve as much as the Note Edge and I think this looks way better. I wasn’t a fan of the Edge

    2. epps720

I am starting to wonder if they are going to give it any functionality at all, or if they are just trying to create a bezeless phone. Like you said doesn’t seem to curve over the side as much as the Note Edge.

      1. RS5God_Intellectua1 (INTJ)

I think create the look of a bezeless phone

    3. One reports claims the edges won’t have nearly as much functionality as they do on the Note Edge.

      1. Daniel Walsh

They do improve the design though.

      2. flosserelli

I will be surprised if the edges have any functionality. I think Samsung did this purely for the “oooh-ahhh” factor.

      3. Suicide_Note

Sooooo they could just be a design element, then, and nothing more? If that ends up being the case I’d say it’s lame.

        1. Colin Huber

Why? Isn’t this the bezel-less device everyone wanted?

          1. Suicide_Note

            No, it’s not.

          2. Colin Huber

            Cool.

      4. JMonicle

If it’s anything like the reports about Samsung smart TV’s, prepare for random corporate sponsor ads to pop up on the edges from time to time. “This call brought to you by PEPSI”. Welcome to the future.

  29. RS5God_Intellectua1 (INTJ)

Even though you guys start at 8am I’ve been waiting on you guys to post this article forever just to say I think the six edge is a beauty and I hope the Note 5 gets the same design update, super slim, and a non removable battery

  30. Jeff Ayers

I wonder what the cost is to fix that screen and how will a case protect it?

    1. Daniel Walsh

      $$$$$

  31. jpippo4

That Edge is starting to look sexier and sexier. Might have to check it out.

    1. Jared

I’m definitely more and more intrigued by it the more it leaks out. It’ll be interesting to see 1) what they do with the edges, and 2) if they really lighten TouchWiz. Hmmm… Sunday should be interesting.

      1. Lucky Armpit

I was thinking the same thing. The Edge looks like a really nice device. I’m liking what I see more and more. I’m only saying at this point: pleasenoTouchWizpleasenoTouchWizpleasenoTouchWizpleasenoTouchWiz.

    2. Maxim∑

      The price won’t be sexy

      1. RS5God_Intellectua1 (INTJ)

Well there’s always the new Moto E that was released for $150 for people like you.

        1. Mech_Engr_09

Thank you. I’m tired of all these cheap arse people complaining about price. if you can’t afford it move on. I don’t hear people complaining that bmw’s should be cheaper. That’s why they make cars like the chevy sonic for people like maxim.

          1. michael arazan

I think RS5 bought The Gold Plated Phone too

      2. jpippo4

If I even think about buying this phone, it’ll be on contract. So price is a moot point for me. The only phones I buy off contract are Nexus’.

      3. Mech_Engr_09

It will be to people who can afford it. Go grab yourself a moto e in your chevy cavalier and call it a day homes.

        1. Maxim∑

All US made cars are crap. And I’ve got the 6+ “homes”

          1. Mech_Engr_09

yeah an iphone suits you well since you’re a homo. Don’t be mad because your parents didn’t love you and couldnt afford a car for you.

          2. Maxim∑

I have a car, if you want to continue this conversation you can away from the keyboard.

          3. Mech_Engr_09

I’d love for that to happen.

          4. Maxim∑

than take action instead of typing

          5. Mech_Engr_09

you look like the type of “guy” who will work in fast food chains their whole life and father many a bastard children

      4. PoisonApple31

You can always write a letter to Obama, or buy a Moto X. Motorola will give you a $150 off every other week anyway, or else they can’t sell any phones.

    3. paul_cus

Looks like a really sleek phone. Definitely interested in it.

  32. Sam Bachman

Not much of an edge display…

  33. BlueAndBlack

    I see Blue and Black.

  34. ThunderJayHawk35

Six appeal? Yes, but us it gold/white or blue/black?

    1. Looks like blue with a silver metal frame

      1. ThunderJayHawk35

I told my ol’ lady that… She said “and this is why I married you” I smiled and quickly said” hey… Wait a minute!! “

      2. NeilGeorge

Actually it is black and blue..

      3. Good_Ole_Pinocchio

No…. Tim. Please tell me that dress joke didn’t go over your head.

        1. RS5God_Intellectua1 (INTJ)

Like an airplane over a city lol

        2. mcdonsco

          Went over mine

        3. I did not pay attention to any of that stuff yesterday. Way too busy.

          1. Good_Ole_Pinocchio

Good. You definitely saved some brain cells by avoiding the interweb madness yesterday

        4. Tony B

I first saw that this morning and I just don’t understand the world anymore…

          1. JSo

I stopped trying to understand it a long time ago

      4. Lucas

It is gold and white, both pics

        1. Pakmann2k

If you can’t see the blue, you won’t believe me, but this is the dress. After your eyes adjust, you will see it. Mine did this morning. Then, after hours of leaving it alone, I came here and the f’ing thing is white and gold again. Goddamn our brains!

          1. I’m still confused. Pictured is a black and blue dress, but the one I’ve seen the other picture of is white and gold? lol why does the internet try to make me feel so old.

          2. MistaButters

The white and gold one is actually black and blue. She is just using her Galaxy Nexus camera….

(but really, it is black and blue, just crap lighting and an eye/brain trick)

          3. michael arazan

Were the people arguing color blinded?

          4. Lucas

I haven’t had the chance to actually see the black and blue. Feels like I’ve being cheated by own brain….feels bad

        2. Daistaar

Exactly. It’s only black and blue if you look at the screen from a very off angle (look at your screen from a 160, 170 degree angle from the bottom as if you were plugging it in).

          1. M3D1T8R

            Nope.

    2. Tyler Durden

      That stupid dress

    3. RS5God_Intellectua1 (INTJ)

      I’m going with white/gold

    4. galaxyNote4isBoss

Nothing beats Samsung they are Android as well as technology.

      1. EdubE24

        What’s up Richard!!!

      2. squiddy20

Yeah, too bad without the free OS that Google provides, your Note 4 would be nothing.

    5. Lucas

You just saw that on youtube….ASAP

      1. ThunderJayHawk35

No I was persistently spammed with it for 6 hours straight… I know that our next war against terrorism will be because of this

        1. Lucas

To be honest, I thought this was all because ASAP made a vid about the dress. THEN, I saw this trending on twitter, had no idea.

    6. TheWenger

Bro. It’s blue and gold. Clearly.

    7. Geoff Johnson

      Hex codes don’t lie

      1. michael arazan

On Mushrooms the whole thing just melts together

  35. David Stevens

Yay, another Samsung launch that makes no sense. Let’s hype up a product, announce it, and sell it two months later. #hypeisgonebro

    1. I get the feeling that this phone will be announced, then shortly released afterwards. Can’t see Samsung dragging themselves along anymore after last year.

      1. Tyler Durden

3/26 it ends, so possibly release date?

        1. Daniel Walsh

          That’s what I was thinking.

        2. Quite possible, if it’s legit.

      2. David Stevens

Maybe I’m impatient. The way Apple does it is the smartest in my opinion. Announce the phone and the price points, and announce the preorder date and actual release date. The note 4 last year was a joke.

        1. RS5God_Intellectua1 (INTJ)

What happened with the Note 4 that was a joke? Got mine first day

          1. David Stevens

It was a beast of a phone but it was announced, I beleive, September 3rd and widely available the last week of October. Almost two month in between…..

    2. PoisonApple31

Yep, this is standard except for HTC and Apple. #thankyoucaptainobvioustellussomethingwealreadydonotknow

  36. Daniel Walsh

Of course Samsung has disappointed us again with the design.

    1. RS5God_Intellectua1 (INTJ)

I’m sorry what did you expect, a phone shaped like a stealth fighter?

      1. Paul Hansen

Is that too much to ask?

        1. RS5God_Intellectua1 (INTJ)

No, if you don’t mind holding a 1/16 model Samsung Galaxy Fighter to the side of your face lol

      2. Daniel Walsh

You’d really think Samsung would at least try to improve the boring design.

        1. MistaButters

The are using a metal frame and the back doesn’t look like a bandaid. I’d say that’s a pretty big improvement.

          1. Daniel Walsh

That’s build quality, not the look.

          2. MistaButters

Sure, from the front it looks similar to other Galaxy S phones. What did you expect? Name one phone manufacturer that has made drastic changes to the face of their phones recently. Apple? Nope. Moto? Nope. LG? Nope. HTC? Definitely not! Hell, most of those manufacturers didn’t really change the backs of their devices much over the past 2+ years.

But build quality and looks go hand in hand. You can’t tell me that by changing from a band-aid dimple plastic back and faux-metal sides to a glass back and metal sides doesn’t change the look of the device. It does. A lot. For the better.

          3. Daniel Walsh

I know, at least the build quality has been vastly improved and TW has been rumored to be way faster and cleaner. We’ll see though.

        2. Mech_Engr_09

          quit cher betchin doocheee

      3. Suicide_Note

Those renders that Samsung Norway posted would be pretty cool if they were real.

    2. Colin Huber

Couldn’t disagree more. In terms of holding onto brand recognition (they have millions of “average” users), this is about as drastic of a change as you can ask for.

  37. Tyler Durden

So yeah, looks just like the leaks

  38. ThunderJayHawk35

    Holy saturation BATMAN!!! Six variants!!?

    1. Walter Partlo

I read it as they are giving away six handsets.

      1. Daniel Walsh

        Yeah, that’s correct.

    2. Tyler Durden

Well if the rumors are true, theres a 32/64/128 of each one

      1. ThunderJayHawk35

        Hmm OK I digress then

      2. Walter Partlo

        Touche.

      3. EdubE24

Of course that is true. Apple did it, Samsung will be doing it!

        1. RS5God_Intellectua1 (INTJ)

“Of course that is true. Apple did it, Samsung will be doing it!” Be quiet, there are a good number of Android phones that have multiple storage options, Nexus 6 ring a bell?

          1. EdubE24

Please admit that you ride the sack of a copy cat company. The only thing they haven’t been able to copy off of Apple is IOS. I think they have paid a ton of money to Apple for being found guilty of such. But that still doesn’t stop them. Copy on Samsung…copy on!

          2. ClikFire

you are an idiot if you think Apple hasn’t copied its competition as well, apple is notorious for being know to add features way after android and other oems so to claim its a copy is dumb.

Gold Smartphones = were done before apple
fingerprint scanners in a phone = done before apple
            Phablets = done before apple
Health App = done before apple
mobile payments = done before apple

Im barley scratching the surface I could go all day, I haven’t even gotten into ios 7 and ios 8, let alone the apple watch and its “revolutionary” features that wear already has.

          3. Tyler Durden

Could say copy, or make better than the competition.

          4. ClikFire

the argument that apple’s version is “better” holds no weight 95% of the time.

          5. Jmonicle

I get what you’re saying, but the reason it’s considered “better” by some is because they know about it. Apple pay is a great example. We heavy android users knew about G-Wallet and were elated in the rare instance that A) the store had a terminal to support it and B) it was turned on. Apple has turned Mobile payments upside down by partnering with directly banks. They also made sure I device users knew about it. Customers that want to use apple pay will now question retailers that don’t support mobile payments, something Google couldn’t do. 3 years ago we were Verizon was banning G wallet from working unless rooted. After apple pay, G Wallet is going to be preinstalled on phones. Now soccer moms are know about and are supporting mobile payments, which, unfortunately matters more to businesses (including wireless companies) than a small percentage of android enthusiasts. Apple does a great job bringing things to the masses, and they are usually never first to come up with it. Let’s think about it. Digital music store, MP3/Digital music players, touchscreen phones, instant messaging like texting app (BBM/Imessage), tablets, and finally watches. I guarantee there will be a surge in people that will learn about and start to care about wearables after the apple watch drops, Just check the history. Never had a iphone but I do rock a rMBP 15 and ipad mini. Phone list: Droid X, G NEX, Moto X, and now a Droid Turbo.

          6. jhouk

This is your best response so far, and the truest. People throw around the word copy like it is a bad word, and to some extent if the copying is done to try and ride the coat tails of a successful product then it enters knock-off territory. But if imitation is done to a) take the best of what works for the competition and integrate into your own unique product OR b) take what works for a successful product and improve upon it further, then the imitation (or bad word COPYING) leads to great success and even differentiation. Apple is indeed a player in the imitation game, but they have been able to take what they “copied” and improved upon it or integrated it better than competition. Much to the dismay of many on this site, Samsung is proceeding in a similar business strategy.

          7. EdubE24

Please keep going on. All the features you are talking about Apple has brought to the mainstream. They make them better and more useful. It only helps the Android side of things by them doing this. Mobile Payments are about to explode for both platforms. Wallet and software never hit big, Apple Pay has, and it will benefit us all! Android Wear will see massive benefits from the Apple Watch. The world will make uses for it because millions will now have that technology on their wrist. Just giving credit where it is due!

What he said, you’re an idiot. Every company has copied something just admit you only call Samsung out, LG copied the Stylus, Apple has copied many features from Android etc etc etc

          9. taz89

Why do you bother, for some people it doesn’t matter who did what 1st but if apple do it and make it popular then forget history, it now means they were the originated. The amount of time I have read comments saying how Samsung is doing a protuding camera just because the iPhone 6 has one. The idiots forget that every single galaxy and note have had a protuding camera lol. Yet if you point out obvious things like apple making a phablet due to Samsungs note series or apple moving it’s power button to the side it’s not copying yet when Samsung do something like move it’s headphones or speakers to the bottom even though other oems like LG etc have done it before its copying. Basically apple can’t copy but everyone else can in there mind. They see metal and rounded corners, it’s copying. They see phablet iPhone or obvious antenna bands like the m8 it’s not copying.

            Exactly

        2. Tyler Durden

except apple did 16/64/128 for whatever reason

          1. ClikFire

I think they did that to force people to get the 64gb.

          2. Tyler Durden

that or manufacturing problems, who knows. $100 for 4 times the storage is better than 2 times at least

          3. PoisonApple31

And $100 more for TouchID on the iPad 3 Mini versus the iPad Mini 2 is just criminal.

        3. ClikFire

ios 8. ios 7. apple pay, apple health could be considered copycats with the features they added and implemented. Also rumors of a ipad pro with a stylus and split screen.

Apple barrows ideas just like every tech company get over it already.

          1. EdubE24

Never have been bothered by it…just pointing out that they love to follow Apple!

          2. ClikFire

Well how about you point out that Apple loves to follow everyone else.

          3. EdubE24

Looking for the lawsuit they lost where they had to pay over a billion out for copying their mobile product…give me a second.

          4. RS5God_Intellectua1 (INTJ)

Exactly, the they copied line is so played out especially when everybody does it, for some reason only Samsung catches hate for it

          5. ClikFire

I agree. I am actually a Nexus fan and although i don’t like touchwiz I don’t understand why Samsung gets so much hate. IF anything Android users should be thanking samsung for its growth in Popularity over the last 3 or 4 years.

          6. EdubE24

Good be the billion they had to pay out..

          7. RS5God_Intellectua1 (INTJ)

Wasn’t it reduced to like $200m then appealed with Apple also having to pay Samsung?

      4. RS5God_Intellectua1 (INTJ)

They should just do 64/128 but I guess you gotta look out for the cheapies

      5. tomn1ce

Flagship device should start with 64GB regardless if they have a sd card slot or not.

        1. Tyler Durden

it sounds like it’s missing on these phones, so let’s hope there’s no 16GB ones
