FYI: Google Tips and Tricks Portal Keeps Growing, is Worth a Bookmark

google tips and tricks

I believe this whole Google tips and tricks thing started back in April of last year, but either way, it’s worth checking out and a bookmark if you haven’t done so already. Haven’t seen it yet? Well, Google is up to 154 tips for getting the most out of their products at this point (they add new ones all the time). And since most of you use Google products…

If you want specific Android tips and tricks, you’ll find lists for getting the most out of your new device, along with another 34 specific to our favorite mobile operating system. The tips can be anything from quickly opening apps with your voice to locking up your phone from bad guys to control your smart home and texting hands-free.

A lot of these are pretty basic stuff, many of which you’ll find in our Android Beginners’ Guide, but it does continue to grow. Plus, if you need tips for Google Play, Gmail, Chromecast, Google Drive, Translate, or Hangouts, you’ll find those as well.

See all of Google’s tips and tricks here.

I have a tip for google. Get ok google everywhere to actually work on Android 6.0 running CM13

I wish this feature was consistent on my 5X/6P. Frustrating.

Agreed. I love having my phone off, in front of me, and saying ok google ‘command_________________________’ and it does it. No lifting my hand or anything. Was working on CM12 android 5.x.x

yeah, coming from a motox its even more frustrating.

My iphone buddies all have to hit that button. Meanwhile I’m over here saying ok google while the screen is off and the phone an arms length away, 12 times and nothing occurs… Frustrating.

That’s a CM issue or a settings issue in Google Now. It is in no way a bug that Google would need to address.

Shouldn’t you be asking the CM team?
If CM breaks something, it’s not up to the code originator to fix it for the code modifiers.

Sounds like you need to reach out to CM

A broken feature or bug in CM? Color me shocked.
