Tim

Stumbling upon Droid Life randomly after purchasing a Motorola DROID in late 2009, then setting out to learn everything he could about Android, Tim quickly became an integral part of the site's comment section. After quite some time of strictly commenting on Droid Life, Tim was offered an opportunity to write feature stories for the site, such as custom ROM overviews, as well as interviews with Android community members. Following success of those, Tim became a full time writer and editor for Droid Life, now spending his time on news articles, device reviews, producing videos, and much more. Tim currently resides in Portland, OR with his longtime girlfriend and two wonderful dog children (Loki & Thor). In his spare time, Tim enjoys playing guitar, drinking coffee, practicing photography, and destroying kids on Call of Duty.

  • I remember when Google had it for sale one time for a quarter, if I didn’t get it back then I would still pay the $5 for it. It literally changes your phone to however you like

  • I paid full price and live by Nova since my Galaxy S4 up to my S7. Nothing beats it, period.

  • Can anyone tell me what Google search bar that is on the image? I really like it!

  • Hijacking a little bit – anyone know how to get Nova to mimic the Google Experience Launcher (Google Now menu by swiping left)?

    • Use gestures (swipe up or double tap, for example) to open the Google app. Alternatively, you can set a swipe action for any icon on a home screen to do the same. I swipe up on my app drawer icon.

  • This launcher has been such a staple of all my phones, if I could rebuy it again to show support I would.

  • i haven’t even looked at alternative to Nova Launcher. what else do people love?

    • I was rocking Nova Launcher for at least 5-6 years, but a few weeks ago switched to Google Now Launcher and loving it. I used to hate the large icons and no way to customize the homescreen grid, but I don’t care about that now. I love how smooth it is, and the swipe left to Google Now is great.

    • I went back to Google launcher with my moto x.. cuz.. it works, and I don’t need fancy options anymore.

  • I bought it for $5 the day after it got updated to adopt Material Design, no regrets since then.
    At 99¢ it’s a hell of a deal!

  • I remember I bought it a couple years back with my Google rewards at $4.99. It took a while to recover from that.

  • I don’t remember how much prime was when I bought it. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t $4.99 though. I bought it a long time ago.
