Those looking to get their hands on the limited Olympics Games Edition of the Galaxy S7 Edge can now do so via Best Buy’s website. As far as we can tell, the device is an online exclusive, meaning you won’t find it at your local Best Buy retailer. Priced at $850, this model of the Galaxy S7 Edge will cost you a bit more than a standard S7 Edge, but given its limited availability, this is no surprise.
The difference between the Olympics Edition and a standard model is nothing crazy – the phone features a special Olympics 2016 UI, including themed Samsung apps, on top of the obvious Olympics hardware theme. There are Olympic colored buttons and the Olympic rings are featured on the backside, allowing everyone around you to know that you take the Olympics very seriously.
If you did not already know, this device is being given to each Olympian from the US headed to Rio this year. There’s no telling if they will be using it, but I don’t see why they wouldn’t. The phone features a very good camera, great display, and has IP68 water resistance. It’s perfect for any Olympian.
Will you be picking one up?

I bet the S7 Rio Edition can’t call the police.
Nice that it works with verizon, wish they would have released the batman version to best buy. But if this is anything like the other US unlocked s7/s7edge, it won’t get updates. Not sure why these models are neglected and carrier models aren’t.
Does it come with a a free sampling of zika, hepatitis in all of it’s glorious forms, used needles, and spent prophylactics?
Not necessary when you can get all of that from your Mom for free.
These people done lost their mind wanting $850 for a phone when you’ll be able to buy it in a year for $350! I’ve already seen people selling the s7 edge for $350 locally.
Shhh… let those early adopters bankrupt themselves for our gain.
Bahahahahahahaha…. Right!
It’s a limited edition so it will hold value because of that. The Injustice edition is going for over 1,100 currently and a used regular S7 edge are going for $ 500-550 on ebay right now. $350? , buddy must have been really desperate to get money as fast as possible, either that or it had a cracked screen or something.
I can find at least 5 s7 edge locally selling for $350-$400. They’re selling cause they don’t like them and a lot of people won’t pay that much for a used phone. Limited edition or not, it’s still stupid to pay that much for a phone. I have more important things in life.
Just ordered mine!
Nice. So when they accidentally drop it into the fecal contaminated cesspool the water events are being held on, it won’t break.
You’ve got to be an Olympics nut AND a phone nerd to want that at that price.
Galaxy S7 Edge – Zika Edition
Zika is the least of your worries. I would be worried about the gun toting flip flop motorcycle riding bandit.
I’ll buy and flip… If I can’t flip I’ll just send it back.
That’s what I was thinking.
And it even comes with mosquito repellent and a box of condoms.
Don’t forget the 9mm, 300 rounds of armor piercing, 7 day pass to the local ER, off duty police badge and machete. Toss out the flip flops for commando boots.
where are you going with this joke? you are all over the place.
Anarchy would be the joke I’m guessing.
In 2015 Rio ranked top 3 in the most dangerous cities in the world. I’d rather walk butt naked while wearing gold chains in the streets of Chicago at 2am than visit this place in broad daylight with a armed bodyguard.
This is what the police are telling tourist that come to that country.
“Brazil’s advice to World Cup tourists: ‘Don’t scream if robbed’”
You forgot the hazmat suit just so you can go in the water.

Lol no
No thanks, not for me, can’t stand the terrible tochwiz.
ROFL!!! I can’t imagine paying that much extra for… THAT. Wow. “A fool and his money are soon parted”.
hahahahahahhahahahahahahaha
Uh nope
Definitely worth exactly that much money.
Not really, this laggy pos is not worth even at half the money.
N6 for 300 or N6p for 500 is far better options than this awful touchwiz sucker.
The 6P is good phone, but it still has its issues. Nothing is perfect.
just out of general curiosity, what would those issues be?
Scrolling isn’t always smooth, especially on DL. It scrolls terrible on this site (in chrome). The headphone amp is atrocious! I use BT now, but listening to music out of the 3.5mm jack sounds like I went back 5 years. I accidentally launch the camera due to the lock screen short cut. The reason I launch it often is the ambient display will want to light up while putting the phone in my pocket, thus the accidental launching of the camera. The display is nearly impossible to see in bright sunlight even with the brightness jacked up. The battery life is mediocre for a phone this large. Those are my biggest gripes.
Interesting. I’m not impressed with the leaks for the new Nexus devices. Debating swapping out my N6 and grabbing a N6P during some super heavily discounted sale once the new ones come out.
The Nexus this year look pretty bad, but I’m willing to hold judgement. I’ve had recent HTC phones and I believe their build quality will be quite good, but those designs. They only take elements from their phones, so it looks like Google had played a large role in design. I will hold judgement until we see them. I thought the 6P looked awful until I held mine.
And if you have a N6 I wouldn’t rush to get a 6P. It’s a good phone, don’t get me wrong, but I’ve had my issues (as I mentioned above). I get 3.5-4 hours OnScreen Time. It just has enough quirks that I’m thinking about picking up a Note 7.
Yea, I’m really not feeling the designs of the new ones even though we’ve only seen leaked renders.
Trust me, my N6 doesn’t get the greatest battery life either. Plus I am always near a charger so its not a huge deal for me. I’d be down for a Note 7 but I can’t do touchwiz and I really dislike the edge versions.
I’m usually around a charger too and even though the 6P charges fast, it has me worried how quickly I’ll chew through the battery’s life span.
The Note 7 looks really good, spec wise, even though I don’t like the idea of so much glass. I haven’t had a Samsung since the S2 left a sour taste in my mouth, but everyone on here, as well as reviewers, have said how much touchwiz has improved. I think the edge design looks amazing, but I have read many comments from people who do not like the edge. I’m willing to give Samsung another chance. Heck, I gave HTC another with the M7 and that turned out to be the best phone I’ve ever used.
Incase you didn’t know it’s now 2016
Don’t worry, I was being sarcastic. Is the S7 actually laggy though? I know some past Samsung devices have started off great then end up laggy over time, but I was hoping this phone would be better due to it’s pretty beastly specs.
He is stuck in the past – his comments are old, his humor is old, his tag being in gray in old.
