Over the weekend, Pokemon GO went live in 27 new countries. I’d call that amazing news, but the go-live caused servers to be down for hours and hours on Saturday. The server issues were such a big deal, that the official Pokemon GO Twitter account acknowledged them at 8:44AM before responding 11 hours later with word that they had identified the server issues and that Pokemon GO life should be good again.
Either way, Pokemon GO is available in a heck of a lot more places today, including in Canada. The rest of the countries are Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, and Switzerland.

WHOA! WAIT?!?! There are 27 new countries in the world? And I thought Canada had been around for a while…?
What an awful app. it makes people get up off their asses, walk around, meet and talk to other people.. ..and even go to landmarks that otherwise gets little to no visitors.. what an awful app.
It has also had been the cause of my oldest son (16 1/2) and youngest (10) to hang out together. For anyone with two boys, or really any siblings for that matter, can attest – to find a way for them to get along and actually acknowledge the other one exists is a major feat.

Totally ruined the weekend for many people. There were TONS of events at parks here in Atlanta where people were going to meetup and walk around and have a good time. I also heard that there was a DDOS too?
Someone CLAIMED that they DDoS’d the Pokémon Go servers, but Niantic denied the claims.
I still have no desire to play this game, and I was a Pokemon fanatic when I was a kid. I never played past yellow though.
Same here. Never made it past yellow. Maybe that’s disqualifies us from “fanatic” status?
Hah, maybe. I was really into it at the time though; got all 150 and leveled my main group up to Lv100 to pwn all my friends with. Pokemon Snap and Stadium were epic on the N64 as well.
