OnePlus has another announcement to make for 2016, this time scheduled for August 25. To get the hypetrain choo choo’ing along, OnePlus published a 30-second teaser video to YouTube, featuring a soundtrack that is eerily similar to what you might hear in a 1970’s porno flick. Seriously, listen to that guitar going through the wah-wah pedal, that’s a classic porno riff.
Moving right along, we must determine what OnePlus is going to unveil, so there can be no excitement when the announcement is made. That’s just how we tech bloggers roll. The teaser clip shows a vinyl being spun around, with a V2 symbol in the middle. Also in the middle, a metallic-looking circular object with what appears to be a black cord coming from it.
Considering how much emphasis is being put on the music and a machine that plays music, I’m going to guess that OnePlus will announce a set of USB Type-C headphones or earbuds. That may seem like a stretch, and I don’t know what V2 would have to do with earbuds, but that’s my guess. Take it or leave it.
Regardless, the announcement is set for August 25, so we will know in two days. Until then, sit back, relax, and enjoy the porno music.

You kinda know a company is lacking in innovation when they are teasing earbuds, USB-C or whatevers.
There are plenty of great earbuds and headphones on the market already and I am dubious that OnePlus can match their quality.
A Nougat announcement would be interesting.

I would love for this to happen, but I believe they’ve already said that there will not be a second X, and that they are focusing on the flagship phones.
Would be cool to see an updated OP X that wasn’t missing any US bands. That seemed like a nice phone if not for it missing a lot of US carrier support and I’m not even sure it was available in the US.
True. I was going to get my wife that phone to replace her aging Nexus 5. Opted out because of the bands issue and small battery. I’m either getting her an Honor 8 or one of the new Nexus phones.
