When is the LG V20 going to arrive? According to LG, this week…in Korea. A press release sent out by the company last night says that once it hits the homeland of the electronics manufacturer, it will make its way to other “key countries” in North America, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East over the “next several weeks.”
That probably means October for the US. But does it mean next week or much later? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Once we know, we will ramp our V20 coverage back up. Fans of the V10 who are looking to upgrade probably noticed that we haven’t talked much about the V20 in recent weeks and that’s because we still don’t have a retail unit to play with. Why are other outlets reviewing the pre-production unit that LG gave out to media, yet specifically said not to review? Again, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Why is everyone so up in arms about this phone? If they dont want to sell it to you then let it go and buy something else.
maybe because it’s one of the top flagships going on sale right now?
How could LG have gotten beat by the Note 7 two times? Verizon been selling fixed units for about a week now. That was LG’s window of opportunity.
and apparently fixed units are still having issues, so who knows.
I came just to post this: ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I love that little guy.
Kind of perplexed on why people are harping on the release date. The V10 was launched around the middle to end of October in the USA last year. LG seems to be following the same route this year. Apple and Samsung have their respective release schedule every year that is the same. Nobody predicted the Note 7 debacle so it’s not really fair to say LG should have released it sooner.
LG made a big stink about the first handset available with Nought standard. I think the new Pixel handsets will definitely beat the V20 in domestic availability.
Marketing/branding has never been an LG strong suit, especially compared to Samsung. LG still seems to NOT understand marketing & distribution. In many ways it’s like there still remnants of the rinky-dink Goldstar brand flogging cheap VCRs at Sears 30 years ago.
Remember, domestic market to LG is South Korea, not U.S. It doesn’t matter where they are starting to sell V20. It still is the 1st phone with Nougat out of the box.
Way to go LG, you know how to release new products.
I thought October 20 was the US date
Really dragging, LG.
LG really screwed up with the V20. With the Note 7 having battery issues, they really could have exploited this and bring in new customers who wanted to ditch their Note 7. Then, they had tons of advertising all over social media but had ZERO information on when the phone would be announced. Don’t advertise a product and touting all it’s features, without telling customers how/when they can get it.
Between the bootloop issues on the G4/G5 id be afraid to own an LG device
Got bored with they fruit 7 plus already?
How did you come up with that conclusion?
Yup, my wife’s 4-month old G4 just got taken out by the bootloop issue. Very, very frustrating.
And I don’t even believe we have prices for US carriers yet. What a horrible launch for LG!
Didnt you guys call this? “First with Nougat out of the box but they probably don’t mean in the US”… I think you guys did say that on a podcast
We may have, but a lot of people probably did too. LG needed a big selling feature to the nerd crowd and having Nougat first is a good one. Too bad it’s not really that big of a deal and the other super nerd features they baked in are the real selling points. I guess maybe those don’t translate well to non nerds. So many nerds.
Eh. I’ll wait it out. My V10 is still a fantastic device. It will hold me over until the V20 release.
