Just a quick heads-up, but to those of you on Verizon who own a Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, S6 Edge, or regular S6, you should be on the lookout for a new update. In fact, the updates were posted yesterday and may have already arrived on your device. If so, just know that they are security patches and nothing more, according to Verizon’s support site.
Below, you’ll find software versions for each update in case you were curious as to whether or not you were on the current build.
- Galaxy Note 5: N920VVRS3BQA1
- Galaxy S6 Edge+: G928VVRS3BQA1
- Galaxy S6: G920VVRS4CQA3
- Galaxy S6 Edge: G925VVRS4CQA3
If you own one of these devices and received the update, feel free to drop in the comments which month’s security patch this is. We would love to add that info to the post.

Pissed off here did this update yesterday everything seemed ok until i charged my phone to full restarted it then that where the problem started it erased my entire phone i lost everything Verizon?called them kept saying was not there fault it was Google/Samsung fault took half a day to get most of my contacts back/photos/etc do not do this update
Got it on my Note 5 today was hoping for…………N……..Verizon?
Since this S6 update on 2/1 my phone battery life is worse and it is overheating when charging.
I have the note 5. I just did the update. The update came on 2/1 or 2/2. I have just been putting it off. The only reason I finally did it was because I was having issues with my notificationLED remaining on even though notifications were cleared. And my battery meter going from 65% to 0% in two seconds and shutting down. LED issue resolved with update. Battery meter still wacko.
i updated my s6 galaxy but after that having sms sending failed problem in verizon message app still this not solved thats a sad and annoying part now what and how to fix it can any one help me here?
I updated my Samsung S6 on February 1st to G920VVRS4CQA3 build. Since the update, I am not receiving all of my text messages. Any suggestions on how to rectify this situation?
i have the same problem if you get this problem ok please do guide me, i have repeatedly tried to fix it but couldn’t
I went into Settings – Applications – Application Manager – Messages and did a Force Stop. I started receiving text from people who I wasn’t receiving text from. Hopefully, this will work for you.
So I had this patch pushed to my S6 and now everytime I try and make a call, it prompts to select whether I want to use my carrier (Verizon) or Google Voice… there doesn’t appear to be any way to set a default so I have to do it EVERY time. Does anyone know how to fix this and set a default? It is VERY annoying!
In a matter of 2 hours this morning, I lost over 30% of my battery while essentially not using the phone at all. Called Verizon. Apparently the issue is with Samsung as they did not do a great job of testing this update. Samsung became aware of the issue on 1/27. No timeline was given on when Samsung would correct the issue. That’s all I have for everybody.
Note 5 here. Update yesterday. Battery is draining at least 20 to 30% quicker now. What was the point of this?
Anything for the note 7?
Motorola RAZR v3 still going strong! Whoo!
they just can’t push real updates that fast, i got it
Got the Note 5 one yesterday, no issues so far.
I updated my Verizon S6+ yesterday with that update. Now my Great S3 Frontier lost the Contact widget association I had with my phone. I had to re add my direct touch contacts to the widget again. Ughgg!
I did an update last night and now my custom background on my text thread with ONLY my husband will not stick and it’s seriously annoying the crap out of me!!!!!! Help!

I’m not a Samsung guy, but those devices look sexy as hell.
WE WANTT NOUGAT!!! NOT MORE SECURITY UPDATES. THIS IS WHY I LIKE APPLE BECAUSE THEY UPDATE ALL THEIR PHONES.

That is a nice picture. Those phones look hot
Hey Verizon, how about that nougat update for the s7? At least give us security updates so we’re not stuck on 3 month old security patches.
End of feb
I’m returning my U version s7 for an FD since those seem to be first to get updates (plus, they are exynos instead of SD, faster with better battery life).
But now, thinking of doing a Note 5 instead. I actually want to achieve a goal of staying with the same phone for 6 months; failing so far :-/
I go through a lot of phones. Have had 6 new devices in the last 3 to 4 months. The iPhone 7 Plus, V20, 6P, Note 7, S7 Edge, and the Pixel XL. I usually rock 2 phones as well. I say all of that to say this, as much as I’d like to go and buy something else right now, I am going to stick to my Nexus 6 and wait for the new phones to release soon this year. Waiting for the S8 Plus first, then Note 8 later.
It’s coming in the next 30 days, S6 within 90 days and the Note 5 before the end of June.
Holy cow! My Note 5 will be due for an upgrade by then.
I stopped asking that question years ago. I know better now. Don’t buy a non-Google Android phone if you want timely updates on Verizon. It’s just not possible.
Google is paying 97$ per hour! Work for few hours and have longer with friends & family! !mj102d:
On tuesday I got a great new Land Rover Range Rover from having earned $8752 this last four weeks.. Its the most-financialy rewarding I’ve had.. It sounds unbelievable but you wont forgive yourself if you don’t check it

We were getting them on the 15th like clockwork till they announced the nougat beta
I think that is kind of rude to Verizon, they are working on it! – Miss Jessica
Yep. Download was pushed to my Note 5 overnight.
My Galaxy S6 Still going strong!
For about 2 hours then the battery dies.
That sucks! I would be so pissed.
I own an S6! I hated it until yesterday because I did something to make the battery way better
How did u do that?

I used this app
I got it this morning. Says Jan 1st 2017
And no 7.0 for s7
Blame the carriers. I have had 7.0 for over 3 months now for the S7
You were running the beta, which were available on carriers too.
Yeah betas and streamlined roms. All of which are daily driver stable. The people that always frequent mobile sites and complain about updates can do something about it. But they just complain and act helpless.
Streamlined ROMs and betas are hardly a solution. The ROMs are based on the old code as it is.
I have been on all the lastest. Currently I’m on a streamline official nougat with jan security update.
Wait, I misread.
You’re on a streamlined version of the official? That’s interesting, I suppose.
I had the beta, then the phone crapped out on me (sim read issue). I got a new one, cant get back into the beta.
Going back to 6 from using nougat on the s7 is kind of rough.
Follow instructions in link. I wasn’t part of the beta, but still installed it.

You can download and sideload it from XDA but it’s pretty old and kind of broken. Samsung didn’t go past a mid-November beta for the Verizon model (probably Verizon’s fault). Running a really old security update at this point, and broken Samsung stuff like no VR.
