Report: LG V30 Launch to Take Place During IFA in September

According to the latest intel floating around the web, LG is planning to introduce the V30, its latest in the V lineup, at this year’s IFA in September. This timing makes perfect sense, considering the V20 was announced around this exact time last year in September.

As for what we can expect, there’s not too much info out there quite yet. From what we can gather, the V30 may sport a near bezel-less front display, secondary ticker, dual rear-facing cameras, Snapdragon 835, around a 3200mAh battery, updated Quad DAC, and somewhere around a IP68 rating. For many, this could be a dream smartphone.

When compared to the existing V20, these rumored specs paint a picture of a slightly redesigned device, plus upgraded internals. Not that there’s anything too wrong with that, with the V20 being a fine phone from LG. As more details make their way online, we’ll keep you posted.

And just for fun, here’s a concept image of the device, which actually does look pretty awesome.

  • I have a V20 and I love it. No removable battery would make the V30 a non-starter for me. Moving away from an IPS display would also suck. I feel like I’m going to have my V20 for a long long time.

  • the only problem with the G6 is the battery. Not getting me through a full day. Was hoping this one would have a bigger one. Or is that 835 so proficient that we don’t need a bigger battery????

  • It’s only a matter of time before cameras have 3 cameras on the back. An ultrawide angle, wide angle (the typical smart phone camera), and a “normal” angle (like the iPhone 7+). Then maybe 4 cameras! All of the above, plus a short telephoto!

  • Will they abandon the software side after 6 months and then refuse to acknowledge bootlooping as a rampant problem?

  • Was calling the v30 a sleeper with oled and thin bezels. It should take away the weaknesses of the v series line.

  • Any word on the IR Blaster making its way to the V30? I use that thing all over the place, and it’s VERY handy! Fingers crossed!

  • The V10 was a cool-looking and feeling phone that was bogged with a gimped SoC and dreadful battery life (and even slower charging).

The V20 was a more generic device with better battery life, a much better camera, and still some software quirks.

V30 should hopefully hit the nail on the head. I’d like to see LG pull all of their past successes together and make the V30 a real Note-beater. I always thought the Optimus G Pro was definitely a better device than the equivalent Note 2 was at the time and almost on par with the Note 3.

    • seems like they could include a stylus, they already do it on their budget LG Stylo series
