Report: Samsung’s DJ Koh Confirms August Unveiling for Galaxy Note 8

An unofficial unveiling date for the Galaxy Note 8 has been bouncing from August to September and then back to August, but according to words attributed to Samsung’s own Dongjin Koh, president of mobile communications business, the end of August is for sure when we’ll see this device.

This August timeframe is welcomed, but sadly, no specific date was provided. If the last report we wrote up proves true, though, the Galaxy Note 8 will be unveiled on August 23 in New York City.

This reported confirmation came from Koh during a press conference in Taiwan, but it wasn’t just the Galaxy Note 8 the executive discussed. Details on how well the Galaxy S8 has been selling vs. the Galaxy S7 were also shared, with Koh claiming 15% higher sales of this year’s flagship after the same amount of time on the market.

So, end of August is looking to be the actual timeframe. Pencil it in on your calendars.

  • If anyone wants a free preview of what the device will be like, just check a babies dirty diaper. Cuz it’s gonna be sh!t.

  • I hate to say this but im done with Samsung devices, had a s8 and it got laggy. Bought the Sony xz premium international for 667 off amazon and couldn’t be happier. This will be the first note in skip in 4 years

    • Most of the international joints have the Exynos processors versus the Snapdragon out here. It makes a big difference.

  • If it’s going to have the rumored 6.3″ screen with a 3300 mAh battery, it’ll be DOA for me. I’m not doing the large screens/small batteries thing anymore.

    • Sounds like a step down from the S8+. Doesn’t even have a 4K display (No it’s not a battery killer on OLED displays), and I don’t think I’ve even read reports of 6GB RAM.

      • Everyone always says that then it always ends up being more than a step up from the S model.

        • Not really. S-Pen features don’t mean “step-up”. A stylus, whoopdy doo!

Note 7 when I used it was a huge let down from my S7 Edge. Slower (same specs so I contribute it to poor software on the Note 7). Battery was worse, and it wasn’t any larger than the S7 Edge.

          • I’ll agree with you I the battery life part. I had to go to the S7E from the Note 7 & IMO it was a downgrade. I noticed differences in everything except the battery. I’d take my Note 7 of the charger at 8am & would be at 30% by 7pm. Same scenario with the S7E, same usage but I’d BGR at 50% by 7. That was the only difference for me though.

          • A huge letdown because of it’s recall? My note 7 ran just as well as my GS7 edge. Felt so much better in ✋ too…

          • Hey man, I saw on your other thread that you are on the $9.99 data plan and out of contract for years. Did you get hit with the $20 price hike when your contract ended? I have been using a workaround to extend my contract for the last couple years but it looks like the party is about to end. I have the $9.99 unlimited data plan as well and I am hoping the $20 price hike is not going to hit
