We have an absolute blast going through your personal ROM submissions, so let’s keep it going. Over the past two weeks, we have asked you to provide a link to your favorite ROM that you would like us to feature on the site during Custom ROM Friday. It’s a great way for developers to finally receive some much-deserved recognition for all of that hard work they put into making our devices better, plus it gives other users out there a chance to try out a ROM they might not have heard about.
Here is an example of what we are looking for:

Call me standard, but ParanoidAndroid is my way to go. It’s close to AOSP, but at the same time it has nice tweaks that everyone loves

Please somebody post a ROM for d2vzw that doesn’t suck in some way! AOKP Build 4 is ridden with bugs (hard-locks, reboots, data connection issues), and CM considers any presses on the home button “long-presses” and pops up tasks instead of home desktop.

Remember Project Elite from the old OG Droid days? He has been developing for the Galaxy Nexus. Awesome mix of extras with solid performance. It has by far been the best ROM I’ve used in months. Tried others, but always come back.
I was just going to ask if anybody had tried it. I loved them from the OG days! How does it compare to AOKP? I usually crack flash but new radios and AOKP Build 5 is running so smooth I don’t really want to change unless it’s really good.

Here is their official site, http://www.slimroms.net/. For me Slim has given me the best battery life compared to CM10 and AOKP. But it keeps most of the features of both. And the team is very responsive to bugs or feature requests on both XDA and Rootzwiki. Definitely the best JB rom at the moment.

Wow, what a weird sensation. After following DL since I got my OG, and through the Gnex year, it seems just a wee bit odd to see folks pimping toro builds, now that I’ve got the N4.
Anyhow, I build nightly for AOKP mako, adding an occasional cherry pick.
But I still like the the pink unicorn.

Hey fellow nerds..you gotta check ouy Darthstalker X for Verizon Galaxy S3. You can find it at XDA. It’s a blazing fast rom.
Hey guys check this ROM for the Galaxy Note 2 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032447, The developer does have similar ROMs for the GS3, etc. but I use the GN2. Anyways, this rom is AWESOME because is built from the ground up on TW. Although TW toggles and other elements are NOT included (which is GREAT), EVERYTHING works. There is a video on the set up and the customizations are endless (you can choose from 4.2 camera with sphere or regular camera, JB gallery or Samsung Gallery and the BEST part, you don’t lose ANY of the S pen capabilities All of your apps can be used on multy view and you get to keep s calendar if you want to. GREAT ROM

Same here. I think it’s interesting to note that, with Bugless Beast stalled out, it seems a lot of those users have migrated to Shiny.
Indeed they have! I’ve been looking for a fast, stable, buttery smooth ROM for quite some time, then I started hearing all about Shiny. I took the plunge and never looked back. And with each new build, it seems like Shiny just keeps getting faster and smoother!

I don’t think so, I think Baldwinguy77 only build for the GNex. But then again I only ROM shop for the GNex so I could be wrong. 🙂

Why should they review this rom though? Its stock 4.2.2 with barely any changes. No need to review it since we all know what’s in stock 4.2.2.
I think that there is enough of a following to warrant the review. Also their are a ton of little mods available to make most users happy without moving to far away from stock.

I’m running Linaro for the “Galaxy Nexus (toro), kanged off of AOKP. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2106640 – So far it’s stable (the most important thing!) smooth, fast, infinitely customizable and I liked Aroma during the install. You can get it without Aroma if you hate it. Threw imoseyon’s latest 230 kernel in there and it’s been really good.

there are instructions on how to port it. apparently its just replacing files from the VZW rom using 7zip from a good Sprint ROM.

a dev called iamtheonecalledneo has been cranking out amazing roms for the much maligned HTC Rezound. He’s brought us up to Jellybean 4.2.2 and keeps the all but forgotten device alive and running amazingly. This rom is blazingly fast and offers 5 variants to choose from.
I agree, I’ve been on a bunch of the 4.2.2 roms and always come back to Neo’s!

If you mean not having to hit the “enter” key after entering your 4-digit pin to unlock, then no it does not support this. You still have to hit enter.

Well for me AOKP had too much going on and I prefer more simplicity, not to mention I ran into quite a few bugs. That was a while ago though, to each his own.
