Verizon Offers New Military Discounts on Unlimited Plans, Up to $40 Off Per Month

Verizon kicked off a new promotion this morning that offers savings to military families on Verizon Unlimited plans. Any of the unlimited plans will now be discounted up to $40 per month depending on how many lines a family has.

The new promo saves military families $15 off a single line, $35 off two lines, and $40 off three or more lines. The discount applies to Go Unlimited and Beyond Unlimited plans, as well as the new $95/mo Above Unlimited plan.

The discount is available to active-duty military, reservists, Gold Star families and veterans. If you qualify, Verizon says that all you need to do to get the discount is “simply login to your account and choose the unlimited plans you need.”

In addition to the new monthly price reduction, Verizon is offering a limited time discount where families can receive a $200 Mastercard prepaid card if they add a new line and buy a new LTE phone.

Kellen

It’s not often that you get to merge personal passions into a professional life, but that’s what Kellen did when he launched Droid Life in 2009. After working years of unsatisfying jobs in the medical and property management fields, he took a risk to try and create an online community while playing with the coolest gadgets on the planet each day, a risk that has turned out to be incredibly rewarding. Outside of Droid Life, Kellen is your typical Portlander who drinks way too much good beer, complains often about the Trail Blazers, and can be found out on the streets for a run, rain or shine.

  • Wish I could use my partner discount on unlimited. They try to tell me it would be worth it to ditch my 23% off a month discount an go unlimited…..sure thing. I love giving away free money.

  • I have been on a random 16gb plan with roll over with my wife’s discount for awhile now. Made no sense to go to unlimited… but this might make it worth it.

  • With this new discount, Verizon is telling me it will cost an additional $1.50/month if I switch from the original “New Verizon Unlimited” to the equivalent Beyond Unlimited.

      • I was checking pricing again with this new discount. Current New Verizon Plan Unlimited for 9 lines = $263.50/month (no taxes, features, fees, phone payments, etc.) Equivalent Beyond Unlimited Plan for 9 lines = $410/month. Yup – we’ll keep our current plan.

        • I switched to T-Mobile and couldn’t be happier. Unlimited plan and two brand new phones with insurance for less than what I was paying at Verizon with paid-off phones and no insurance. CRAZY! So glad I switched.

  • I’m all for Military Discounts but how about a discount for 20+ year customers?

    • best part is when the rolled out the unlimited plan last year they stopped accepting any corporate discounts as well. Used it get a discount thru my employer…

    • I agree M. Chadwick. They offer nothing for loyal customers.
I am active military, and even with all the discounts Verizon offers, they are STILL the most expensive… Glad I finally switched.

    • I started when the company was Bell Atlantic mobile 22 years ago. I also get fios package for tv / internet and pay $250 a month. I don’t get a corporate discount anymore but I should get 20% off for all the years I have been their customer.

    • Same question here! Been with since they were AirTouch Wireless! We should get something!!
