Verizon’s Galaxy S20 5G Now Available in Exclusive Color and $150 Off (Updated)

It took several months to arrive, but Verizon’s special version of the regular Galaxy S20 5G is now available. You’ll find this Galaxy S20 at the same price as it is at other carriers, plus Big Red has its own exclusive color. Actually, Verizon is hosting a day-1 sale, so it’s cheaper to start.

To kick off today, Verizon is slashing $150 off the Galaxy S20 with bill credits giving that money back to you over 24 months. You can get that discount with a monthly device payment plan or by buying the phone at full retail.

Verizon was able to convince Samsung to give them Cosmic Gray and Cloud Pink versions, as well as their own Cloud White colorway. Phones in white are quite rare these days, so if you were considering this Galaxy S20, you may want to go that route and have something unique.

Other than the special color, this Galaxy S20 isn’t different from the models that have been available for months. This version just happens to have support for Verizon’s 5G mmW, which the previous versions lacked. That’s it, though. You’ll find the same processor and storage and camera and RAM and everything.

  • UPDATE: The statement above is not completely true, as someone at reddit who owns the phone has pointed out that Verizon’s Galaxy S20 lacks a microSD slot. All other models of the S20 feature an SD slot that expands the internal 128GB of storage. Should you buy Verizon’s for $1,000, you get 128GB storage and that’s it.
  • UPDATE 2: Oh, and only 8GB RAM (all others have 12GB). What in the hell? Maybe skip this one.

In case you were wondering our thoughts, our review is linked below, but also, this is the phone I’m using daily. It’s an incredible size, the display is beautiful, and the performance is as good as any phone.

NOTE: Oh, if you grab this Verizon Galaxy S20, you’ll have a day-1 update with build G981VSQU1ATEA that brings June’s security patch.

  • Fyi, the Verizon S20 also has 33% less RAM than other S20 models (8 GB vs 12 GB).

If there is a way to screw customers, Verizon will find it.

  • Wow no SD card slot and less ram than the s20+? Looks like I’ll be cancelling my order

    • Remember, Samsung pulled this deal a year ago with the S10 5G. No expandable storage either.

The S10 Ultra is impossible to find anywhere in the 16GB/512 variant, especially on VZW. The Note 20 sounds solid but i am worried they are gonna cheap out on the storage again, as the battery capacity already seems limited.

Time to just give up on Samsung for this year and hope they gt it together in ’21.

  • Strange on the update, someone here mentioned that and I went and looked on Sammy’s site specifically at the Verizon version and it showed microsd support, guess that was wrong too.

    • Verizon site does not list SD slot and it says 8 GB RAM. I see no point in buying this phone. The unlocked S20 works on VZW perfectly, just no 5G.

  • Will cases for the other carriers fit on this phone or are the dimensions different?

  • I actually kinda want this. The S20 is a nice size, far more hand-friendly than the other models. My main concern is battery life. Hope ya’ll review it.

  • FWIW I saw the original two color variants are available for a further $150 off on Best Buy’s website. I’m currently deciding between this phone, the Edge+ or perhaps waiting a bit longer for further releases or deals. I’m replacing a V30 and want something similar size (a strike against the slightly larger Edge+) so I really like the S20, if it had a headphone jack I’d probably have already bought it. My past smartphones have been Moto Razr, LG G2 (my all-time favorite), Moto Droid Turbo, LG V30, I’ve somewhat avoided Samsung in the past as I view them the Apple of Android, but this might just be the one to win me over.

  • So I have this phone. Received my pre-order from Samsung today. This phone doesn’t have or support for a sd card. It’s close to a deal breaker for me. I also have the unlocked version but wanted this for the scarce 5g coverage in NYC.

    • I’m sorry….what?!?! No SD expansion and only 8 gigs instead of 12? WTF?!? How are they justifying sellling this at the same price as the unlocked version?

      • Weird. Samsung website confirms 8GB of RAM but says it supports microSD. However, Verizon’s site mentions nothing about it having expandable memory.

  • Kellen: “It’s an incredible size, the display is beautiful, and the performance is as good as any phone.”

    Bingo

  • this Galaxy S20 isn’t different from the models…

It looks like they removed SD card support and lowered the ram on this variant. Unless the specs are wrong at Samsung.com?

    • I’m not a fan of VZN’s insistence on their own variants, but a red version would be pretty dope.

  • I am very interested in this phone but not at $850 and never on Verizon payment plan again no matter what the price.

    • Yeah, I’ve really come to like buying a phone without a carrier. Almost any site now has their own 12 or 24 month financing program, if the money isn’t all there up front.

      • The only reason I’ve ever done it before in the past was when I could get a phone for half or less on those deals. I’ll never do it again though as I have a Pixel 3 sitting in my drawer with 9 months left on it’s plan that was MORE than 50% off and I recently realized the smaller Pixel 3 only rings from one speaker (rings and notifications) so it’s volume is extremely low which made me miss a ton of calls, so it’s also now completely useless to me…and collecting dust.

Only payment plan I’ll do now for a deal is from BB where you can put a down payment on it that’s almost the full price, then just pay off the remainder on your next bill.

        • So upon further review. This phone doesn’t support micro SD cards and only has 8gb of memory. This is equivalent to the S20 model with no 5g and mmwave just added to that. So I’m sending it back. I’ll keep my S20 unlocked version.

          • So the Verizon S20 is the only model without a microSD slot. Doesn’t surprise me at all ????????

    • Yeah, I’ve really come to like buying a phone without a carrier. Almost any site now has their own 12 or 24 month financing program, if the money isn’t all there up front.
