Tim

Stumbling upon Droid Life randomly after purchasing a Motorola DROID in late 2009, then setting out to learn everything he could about Android, Tim quickly became an integral part of the site's comment section. After quite some time of strictly commenting on Droid Life, Tim was offered an opportunity to write feature stories for the site, such as custom ROM overviews, as well as interviews with Android community members. Following success of those, Tim became a full time writer and editor for Droid Life, now spending his time on news articles, device reviews, producing videos, and much more. Tim currently resides in Portland, OR with his longtime girlfriend and two wonderful dog children (Loki & Thor). In his spare time, Tim enjoys playing guitar, drinking coffee, practicing photography, and destroying kids on Call of Duty.

      • My neighbor showed me the way she was averaging over 4k each month by doing this job she discovered online… The greatest benefit of doing work through the web is that I am normally home with the little babies and I freely head out on family trip for a very long time. I was quite surprised and made a decision to try out… Nowadays I really feel very lucky she told me this, and would would suggest it to every person to go after it… Here is what I do> https://make17kmonthly.weebly.com/

  • I still have mine and also paid a little over $300 for the 8 GB/ 128 GB variant. It has it’s own compromises like any other phone (speaker sucks, camera is decent but not good, too large of a phone, etc ) but it’s amazing how much phone I get for so little money. Performance is still great, have the latest updates, battery life is solid, display is good, build quality is stellar.

  • Can’t do OnePlus till they support full Verizon features like wifi calling. Good deal though!

  • Great deal.

The real question is did you walk or catch a ride to Papakōlea (the green sand beach)?

    • Not everyone can be smart. It’s okay. My 7tpro McLaren was MUCH better than s10+ and cheaper. Specs can easily compete with s20+ for 800 bucks. S20 can only operate QHD at 60hz. 7t pro has no issue running QHD at 90hz. You notice the jump from 60-90 significant – not rly 90-120. 8gb ram 128gb hd to 7t pro’s 12/256.

      • I forgot that intelligence was determined by one’s opinion on phone manufacturers. My bad.

OnePlus is the only company I’ve returned a phone to, had them claim it was broken and gotten no refund nor the phone sent back to me. Their customer service is absolutely worthless, and this is the only company I’ve had any issues with. So no, I’m not a OnePlus fan.

          • No, they said the screen was broken, and after much prodding, they eventually sent me blurry pictures where it was hard to tell one way or another what was happening with the screen. Actually, in one of the pictures, the screen looked perfect. I never even took the factory applied screen protector off.

    • My last OnePlus was the 6T. I agree about not being a fan. Build quality was terrible. I would have been okay with it, but they claim to be as good as a flagship. Screen is sunken from glass, they use a plastic trim at the edge of glass that collects dust, Camera is okay, so no real complaints there (I have a DSLR when I need a better camera). I will keep my comments towards the phone and not their horrible customer service. I would take a LG v35 over this any day and its priced at $235-250 brand new.

      • I’ve been over this with multiple people on this site, that’s just not true. I can set my current 1080 phone next to my old 1440 phone and easily see the difference. No, changing DPI settings doesn’t help; that fixes some apps but not everything.

  • This is Verizon compatible is it not? I honestly might jump on this…

    • I can vouch for the compatibility of the unlocked 6T on Verizon. I did have to call Verizon and have them add “CDMA-Less Roam” to the line to get full SMS functionality but it was all good after that.

  • Still using the one I got at launch and it works great. I was kind of interested in the 8 Pro, but since it’s going strong I’m gonna hold off for the 8T or 9 at this point.
