Across the country, most Sprint retail stores will become T-Mobile stores on August 2, T-Mobile announced today as part of its Uncarrier event.
The announcement doesn’t go into great detail, but it sounds just as you’d expect. Where Sprint stores currently are, T-Mobile stores will replace them with new signage and paint jobs on August 2.
Here’s what was written.
On that day (August 2), T-Mobile emerges as the newly combined company’s flagship brand in retail, with most legacy Sprint stores rebranding with a fresh coat of magenta paint and fresh deals on the way.
T-Mobile committed that a combined Sprint and T-Mobile would deliver a 5G network second to none and be a supercharged Un-carrier with the ability to up-level competition and better compete on price. Execs foreshadowed new, aggressive offers to be unveiled next week … saving people money, challenging the competition and raising the bar for the industry. Buckle. Up.
Cool.

Both of the Sprint corporate stores that I drive by regularly have already started rebranding. I drove by one the other day and their panel on the pylon sign out front already says T-Mo . The building signage at both stores still says Sprint as of a few days ago but they had some new T-Mo graphics in the windows.
There is an existing T-Mo corporate store about 2 miles away from the closest former Sprint store (the one with the new signage up already) that appears to be doing well so I imagine they will keep both of them going until the one with the more expense rent terms out…both stores have comparable square footage. The current Sprint one looks to have a slightly larger footprint and be in a higher-traffic area with better visibility and parking but also is probably a higher rental rate. Both stores are usually busy whenever i drive by during business hours.
If I lose my 50 gb free wifi Hotspot per phone every month after the switch I am leaving Sprint.
Where I used to live they have a Sprint Store and a T-Mobile store nearly across the street from one another. I’m guessing in those instances, the Sprint stores will be closed.
Actually reverse because of the logistics TMobile committed to keeping sprint employees. So they are actually closing many TMobile stores in place of sprint stores.
They’ll probably keep the bigger or cheaper store depending on the lease.
What about stores in shopping centers that have a Tmo already? Closed?
Likely. I know the Sprint Kiosk that was about 150 feet from the T-Mobile store in our Mall is gone already
Old sprint store by my house is being converted into one.
