Galaxy S20 Lineup Picks Up One UI 2.5 Update With Note 20 Goodies

Starting August 21, Samsung will begin rolling out an update to the Galaxy S20 lineup, inside being the One UI 2.5 firmware that currently runs on the Galaxy Note 20.

Following the update, Samsung notes that the Galaxy S20 family will feature quite a few things that make the Galaxy Note 20 line special, including a Pro Video mode that features the righteous 21:9 aspect ratio, control over the mic’s direction when shooting video, plus the enhanced Samsung Notes app experience.

The updated Notes app allows for importing and writing on top of PDFs, audio bookmarks, as well as the new auto save & sync function. And don’t forget, One UI 2.5 fixes Android 10’s gesture navigation issues with 3rd-party launchers. Huzzah!

There’s no telling when each S20 owner will receive this update, since there are carriers to think about, but it’s coming.

the one thing ive been waiting for! hurry up on my S10+

  • Got it today in on unlocked S20. Sad but glad I’m not getting the Note 20: first time in years. The S20 really suits my needs.

  • Got it on my unlocked S20+ on T-Mobile this morning. I was still on the July patch and planned to manually update the firmware today ????

Edit: This is a big file, 1042 MB. Don’t forget to wipe the system cache after installing.

      • Power down completely. Then press and hold power + volume up together, and release when the “Samsung Galaxy S20” logo appears. You will see a black screen with tiny text. Use the volume rocker to select “Wipe cache partition”. Press the power button to “enter”. Don’t worry, this doesn’t wipe your phone to factory state, it just wipes the system cache. When done, use the volume rocker to select “Reboot system” and press the power button to confirm.

You should repeat this every time you upgrade firmware.
