You Can Buy GeForce NOW RTX 3080 Memberships Now, No More Pre-Orders

NVIDIA announced this morning that cloud gaming lovers can instantly purchase RTX 3080 memberships for its GeForce NOW gaming service, with the pre-order period now over.

We’ve already detailed what the RTX 3080 membership gets you. To put it simply, you get unmatched cloud computing power to play your Fortnite, Cyberpunk, or whatever else you may want to play. More specifically, gamers can expect to stream the highest resolution at the best FPS, regardless of what device you’re playing on. For example, desktop and laptop players will see up to 1440p at 120FPS. If you want to play on your Android device via the GeForce NOW Android app, you’ll have up to 120FPS gameplay, as well as 4K HDR streaming to SHIELD TV.

The RTX 3080 tier also comes with an extended session length of 8 hours.

For pricing, RTX 3080 membership costs $99 for 6 months of access. If you game for hours, it’s a fine price for this level of power, I’d imagine.

    • What if someone is looking to play on a laptop? There isn’t really an equivalent to the 3080 and the closest your gonna get is upwards of 3k after you factor in taxes. What if all they have is a MacBook? Personally I play on my desktop but you have to recognize that there is absolutely a group of people out there where this would be super beneficial.

        • I think you are missing the point. Yes there is a mobile 3080 which is what I was referring to when I mentioned spending upwards of 3k on a gaming laptop. It still doesn’t come close to the desktop 3080. It’s more in line with the 3070. With something like this you don’t need to spend money like that on a new laptop and you can play on existing hardware or hardware (like a MacBook) that most games don’t even support.

    • I am also old school. I tried it and I’m now convinced this is where the majority of the market will be in the next 3-5 years. For better or worse.
