It’s now late November, but there isn’t much about the upcoming Pixel 7a from Google that we don’t know. There has been plenty of reports that detailed rumored specs and materials to be used, so it’s fitting that we now have unofficial renders of the device based on what we assume are dimensions that get sent out to accessory makers.
Speaking of dimensions, the Pixel 7a is reported to come in at 152.4 x 72.9 x 9.0mm, which is extremely close to the Pixel 6a’s 152.2 x 71.8 x 8.9mm. If you own a Pixel 6a, these numbers should give you a good idea of what to expect in-hand. Looking at these images, we can see that the device aligns very well with the existing Pixel 7 lineup. Previous reports indicate that the device features dual rear cameras, Samsung-made FHD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate, wireless charging, in-display fingerprint reader, and Google’s Tensor chipset.
While these renders are nice to look at, they do not confirm whether or not Google is incorporating a ceramic body. That was something previously reported. At this point, we’d be surprised if it does, but there’s still plenty of time to learn more.
We still don’t have great intel on when to expect this phone’s launch, but given the rate at which information is making its way online, it wouldn’t surprise anybody to see this phone launch in Q1 of next year. Why Google would opt to bump release forward a few months compared to past Pixel ‘a’ line launches is a mystery, but it could simply be because the Pixel 7 line is seemingly more popular than the Pixel 6 line. We just don’t know right now.
We’ll keep you posted.

In case anyone is interested here’s my pixel code:

I’ve said it once but I’ll say it again: Google needs to add a 256gb version of their A phones. 128gb is not enough for a lot of us!
I know it’s ultimately nbd, but I really dislike that thicker bottom bezel that’s become the standard for pretty much all Android phone designs.
Spoke to someone at Spectrum internet help desk today and she said she has been getting lots of calls from people with new Pixel 7s. Google’s mass marketing must be having an effect in driving up numbers. I know personally I see their commercials every hour at night during PrimeTime
It’s not that much bigger than the Pixel 6a so probably a similar sized battery. Probably similar battery life to the Pixel 6a and Pixel 7. I’ll pass.

Since I passed on the 7, I might seriously consider this.
may I ask why did you pass on P7 and what do you see better on 7A (other than lower price)?
Because I already own the 6.
that doesn’t answer the reason for passing 7 but considering 7A.
Potentially lower price and OP maybe trying to not upgrade unnecessarily.
Can’t speak for anybody else, but the size is closer to what I’m wanting. I’m still rocking my P5 (which is starting to look rough) and I keep flip flopping between just getting the 7 and waiting for this. I don’t actually think I’d mind the 6.3 though so I should really just pull the trigger.
I was rocking my P5 and said what the hell and went for the P7 Pro. It definitely took some getting used to and I occasionally miss the size of the P5 but the benefits drastically outweigh these regrets. The fingerprint sensor w/ face unlock is just as fast as the back fingerprint P5 and there’s the little trick you can use to do a little flick at the bottom of the screen to bring down the notification shade – which was a big issue because I would have to “float” the phone in my hand to reach the shade until I enabled that feature. I don’t regret upgrading and I don’t think you will either. If you take advantage of the $150 off and your trade-in you’ll be doing okay.
Why didn’t you update to 7 for $20?
