Tim

Stumbling upon Droid Life randomly after purchasing a Motorola DROID in late 2009, then setting out to learn everything he could about Android, Tim quickly became an integral part of the site's comment section. After quite some time of strictly commenting on Droid Life, Tim was offered an opportunity to write feature stories for the site, such as custom ROM overviews, as well as interviews with Android community members. Following success of those, Tim became a full time writer and editor for Droid Life, now spending his time on news articles, device reviews, producing videos, and much more. Tim currently resides in Portland, OR with his longtime girlfriend and two wonderful dog children (Loki & Thor). In his spare time, Tim enjoys playing guitar, drinking coffee, practicing photography, and destroying kids on Call of Duty.

  • Anyone want to hook a brother up? I’m on Verizon and their perks are trash

  • keeping it 100 I’m more interested in the free MLS. I didn’t know that was a thing. I hope i’m eligible. I don’t follow baseball anymore, but glad i clicked on this article cause i didn’t know about the free mls streaming.

  • I just redeem mine, but unfortunately no access to the MLB Network, which is what really want.

    • I currently have the grandfathered One Military plan and my wallet is very happy. MLB TV, Netflix and MLS is like icing on the cake.

      • Same, and I confirmed recently that there’s no reason to switch from this plan, even if your account says you only have 4g data, etc. Ride that beautiful plan until the sun sets.

        • Yeah, I agree. A few months ago a T-Mobile agent unsuccessfully tried to convince me to “upgrade” to the new Magenta Military plan. I told her that the new Magenta Military plan was more expensive than my grandfathered plan despite having the same features. One big exception is that the grandfathered plan offers Netflix Standard or FHD 2-screen plan for $2 (up to $10.99/mo. value) with 2+ qualifying lines. The new Magenta Military plan offers Netflix or SD 1-screen plan, so essentially it’s been downgraded. I pay $80.00 for two lines with unlimited talk, text and data on all lines. Taxes and fees are already included. T-Mobile’s original ONE Plan Military includes the following:

*Simple Global: unlimited text and data roaming and low flat-rate calling in 140+ countries and destinations

*Mobile Without Borders: free calling and texting to and from Mexico and Canada and up to 5 GB of free high-speed data when traveling there

*Gogo Inflight: free unlimited texting all flight long and 1 hour of free smartphone Wi-Fi on all Gogo-equipped domestic flights

*Netflix Standard or FHD 2-screen plan for $2 (up to $10.99/mo. value) with 2+ qualifying lines

*20GB of high-speed mobile hotspot data

  • Since my local teams are always blackedout on this app, does anyone know if using a VPN on the phone can help me get around that?
