This Verizon Unlimited Plan Comparison Chart is Incredibly Helpful

Verizon has a lot of Unlimited plans, and for many, it can be rather confusing to know what perks, benefits, and limitations each one has. Thankfully for us, there are people like reddit user maxypantsyo who go out of their way to make our lives a little easier. Props, maxypantsyo.

In a chart they published to reddit, we get a complete breakdown of each of the six Unlimited plans that Verizon currently offers, plus the various things that each plan gets and how much they cost. For example, the 5G Do More comes with 6 months of Apple Music, but the plan right above that, the 5G Get More plan, has no timed subscription – Apple Music is simply included with the plan. We can also see how the basic unlimited plans, like Welcome Unlimited and 5G Start, do not include access to 5G UWB, while all plans do include basic 5G access nationwide.

This chart is incredibly helpful to people like us who have to talk about these plans, but also to consumers who get lost in Verizon’s never ending remix of these plans and their names for marketing purposes. It’s a total pain to keep track of, so again, a big shoutout goes to maxypantsyo.

People are awesome.

  • I left VZW in 2011 I think, when my military discount brought 2 lines down to…$186/mo. or something crazy like that.

I have Military Magenta on T-Mobile, 4 lines fully unlimited, 5G home internet, my watch line, Netflix, MLB.TV, who even knows what else…all for $168. I could never leave, and especially not for VZW.

    • Verizon’s pricing has come down significantly since those days. Without any military discount I have 4 lines for $145 on VZW. 3 5G start lines and 1 5G Play More. Only 1 device has a payment plan. Plus factorying in free Disney+ I can’t complain at all.

  • very helpful to confirm that Verizon is too damn expensive. Unless you need 4-5 lines, then it’s just a little pricey.

  • Still over priced, Been using MVNO and never been happier Never had issuing Google Fi for T-Mobile service CS is okay at times you get the not so intelligent CS agent lol and or US Mobile for Verizon and their CS has been very good never had issues getting help when issues arise. Prices are fair on both service also.

  • Verizon has been making these weird/confusing plans for years. You can figure them out after reading over them a few times which really shouldn’t be. I don’t really have anything bad to say about them, as I was with them for around 15 years but I left them about 4 years ago to go to FirstNet (AT&T first responders network) & can’t say I miss them. My service is solid & pricing can’t be beat for true unlimited service (including hotspot on the phone).

  • This feels like I need one of those folded paper decoder things to interpret….or a Rosetta Stone.
Why can’t US phone plans be simple and clean

  • So literally zero of them are truly unlimited, and they ALL throttle streaming video…oh, and Verizon will keep increasing their prices, wonderful. So glad I’m locked into an unlimited plan with T-Mobile and abandoned VZW years ago

    • Unless you own a VPN, then the video is not throttled. Piggyback that with YouTube Premium revanced workaround with VPN tethering for unlimited hotspot and you are truly in heaven.

  • Step 1: Ditch Verizon.
Step 2: Don’t care about this graphic.

*FWIW, I realize many consumers continue to choose VZW and that’s OK. But IMO the extra 5% of coverage isn’t worth the extra 20% of premium. It’s one of the top reasons I don’t iOS. And I know y’all on this page get that. And for those living anywhere near civilization, the “VZW is the only one that works out by me” is often fooled by “have you tested that theory lately, or 15 years ago?”

    • I used to feel the same, had a grandfathered unlimited plan from vzw but then had to start adding kids to the plan, switched to TMobile a couple years ago and the bill dropped a ton.

    • There’s also the consideration of those on family plans such as myself. My wife & I pay $30/ea. for the 5G Start plan. Taking a quick look at something such as T-Mobile, assuming local coverage is sufficient, we’d be paying $45/ea. Not sure the differences in plans (again even assuming good coverage) is worth paying 50% more just to get away from VZW.

      • Hmmm… chart above says you would have to pay $70 + $60 +$45 (Total $175) for the 5g start. Are you grandfathered in an older plan? Otherwise the math doesn’t work. And T-Mo does have the Essentials Savings unlimited plan which comes with 50GB of premium data v. VZW’s 0 on the 5G plan (https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone-plans?INTNAV=tNav:Plans:Magenta) that really would be $30 per month and you be getting more for it.

    • Still the case in Arizona when driving between Flagstaff and Sedona and Phoenix and Tucson. If you have TMobile, it’s really bad service. In the mountains, no service for T-Mobile. But Verizon, I have service everywhere.

      • My only issue driving between Phoenix and Tucson is the feeling of nausea I get driving towards Tucson. No issue with signal except a brief stretch north of Casa Grande. Haven’t been to Flagstaff in so long I wouldn’t know about that.

        • Can confirm. I just made this trek just a few weeks back. Didn’t get all the way to Tucson (Stopped at Saguaro NP), but my T-Mo phone (note 20 Ultra) had coverage the whole way. And that includes my “offroad trek” to see the (unbeknownst to me non-existent) Hohokam Pima NM. All over that corridor and never lost coverage for long enough to remember? Maybe WAY off the interstate, but given the terrain, that’s gonna have to be a LONG way (or clear on the backside of one of the mountains). Either way: Plenty of T-Mo coverage on a 3 year old phone.

    • “But IMO the extra 5% of coverage isn’t worth the extra 20% of premium. It’s one of the top reasons I don’t iOS. And I know y’all on this page get that.”

Having both the S22 Ultra & the 14 Pro Max, I agree with this analogy 100%. For me, the 5% = iMessage & FaceTime. Both are better than any of their respective Android counterparts, but they’re the only thing better IMO & definitely not worth switching over for.

    • So happy, you are ok with people using Verizon; I’m sure your approval is much required and loved by everyone.

However, not everyone is a fool that you imply or live in east of the MS river where most likely any carrier is ok. For me, I need verizon towers, or I might as well get a sat phone or pile up wood and try smoke signals. But like they say, opinions are like A****, everyone has one. I occasionally stop in a T-mobile store and ask about their service and they are honest and say in that area, no go with the T.

Someday, I might be able to give it a try; most likely via a MVNO, but currently; not a chance in hell.
However, even though I do NOT use Verizon for a provider I use a MVNO (Tracfone) for the provider and they use Verizon towers. So I get the service I need with the price I like.

      • But like they say, opinions are like A****, everyone has one

How dare you, I identify s not having one!
