OnePlus continued its tradition of announcing its new flagship phone for China today with no word of when or if that device might come to the US. We expect it to, don’t get me wrong, but this is a yearly thing that we still can’t quite understand the point of. Either way, the OnePlus 13 is official for China and will likely some day arrive in the US with all of the specs and smoothness you expect.
What’s new in the OnePlus 13? Since we’re dealing with translations in order to give you this info, it’s hard to tell you the whole story. Instead, we’ll focus on specs and then wait for OnePlus to announce the global/US model that’ll tell the secrets and plans from OnePlus outside of China.
OnePlus 13 specs: Below, we’ve put together the OnePlus 13 and you’ll notice that it does indeed run Android 15 and has the new Snapdragon 8 Elite powering it. This is one of the first devices on the planet to run Qualcomm’s new and improved chip that by all means looks to be a beast on paper. We also have a similar display to last year, triple 50MP rear camera system that is new and still branded with Hasselblad, up to 24GB RAM and 1TB storage, WiFi 7, and a massive 6000mAh battery with both wired and wireless charging. You also have an ultrasonic fingerprint reader and that IP69 dust and water resistance that we talked about earlier this week, a first for the industry.

As for the rest of the story, you have to understand that this phone runs OnePlus’ ColorOS skin on top of Android, so it’ll be a bit different than the OxygenOS skin we get here. There will be AI-related features (many of which are a part of the OnePlus Android 15 update), a focus on gaming, and rear finishes of both faux leather and glass.
Speaking of design, OnePlus is using a flatter display for the first time in years, with flat metal edges to go with it. The focus on flat for design is the industry trend of the moment and we’re here for it. Google did it with the Pixel 9 and delivered the best phones of the year, while Samsung has also made the switch in recent years. Be gone, curves!
The OnePlus 13 is launching in China, but again, we fully anticipate a launch in the US before long. You noting this device as one that could be in your pocket?

If they bring the blue or white version to the USA, I'm in. I had the OP12 briefly and really liked it, except for the curved screen. The display itself was great, just hated the curve. Give me a flat display and I'll buy one.
I hope they don't offer the 1tb version in the USA… Because I don't really need a new phone, but that would be enough to justify the upgrade.
– I really hope the white version isn't a China exclusive
– I doubt they'll cut down on any specs on the global version
– each color variant comes with a matching color case as well as charging cable & brick; that's underrated
– sales go on Nov 1 in China so here's hoping it doesn't take too long for them to announce it for us
– honestly it'll most likely cost more than the 12 but with trade in I always consistently get around $600 CAD for my old phone so I think it's a great deal and I will for sure upgrade
– say what you want about it being not "truly" flat…well at least the frame is flat now lol I'll take it
– it's shorter than the 12, 6000mAh and thinner with a more recessed camera lens, you'd say it's like a 12T thing going on but whatever I dig it over a Samsung, Pixel or iPhone
100W charging needs to be a push by Samsung, Pixel, and iPhone.
100W charging3 day battery life needs to be a push by Samsung, Pixel, and iPhone.Fixed.
No one is near 3 days of battery life. Also, with current technology, let's say there is 3 days of battery life. Life. You're going back to 2010 looking phones where it looks like a brick sticking out of your phone. It will also take you 3 to 3 and 1/2 hours with current technology.
while at the same time, you have three companies that have 100 to 240 watt charging and the phones have lasted 4 years without any major issues. Those companies being OnePlus, Huawei, xiaomi
Moot point #1.
That's why I changed your point from 100W charging needed to be pushed by Samsung, Google & Apple. On average I charge my S24 Ultra almost every other day. I take it off the charger at 6AM & don't put it on the charger again until 3PM the next day & there are times where I've gone to almost midnight. That's 36+ hours. Halfway there to 72 hours, aka 3 days. The only difference between my phone & that of the Evo, Droid X, Galaxy S1, etc. is that it's taller, definitely not wider or thicker.
Moot point #2.
You do know you can slow charge your phone overnight, don't you? I put my phone on my 15W wireless charger at 1AM & I'm at 100% when I get up at 6AM.
Moot point #3.
I've never in my life held onto my daily driver for 4 years.
Rebutting is so much fun.
Congrats on your choice. One technology is ready right now, the other technology is 5 to 10 years away. Your anecdotal half way there is laughable. Your point of charging at night is fine, but there is technology now that does it in 10 minutes. Your anecdotal, "people don't use their phone for 4 years," is a weak argument.
your rebut lacked much substance. I'm your huckleberry.
Congrats on learning the word anecdotal & thinking using it repeatedly means you have a point.
Still a moot point. 'Congrats' on being able to juice your phone up in 10 minutes multiple times a day compared to only charging it overnight every other day.
You actually misquoted me as I said, "I've never in my life held onto my daily driver for 4 years". But since you tried to bring it up as a weak argument, it's a well known fact that the only people who hold onto their phones for 4 years are iPhone users. How many people do you see out there with Galaxy S9, S10's or S20's as their daily driver compared to iPhone X, 11 & 12 users?
My point still stands. Your comment of "100W charging needs to be a push by Samsung, Pixel, and iPhone" is still invalid.
Your points are still anecdotal. My point still stands. Your points are meaningless.
Keep telling yourself that.
I do. And will point it out. Rebutting is so much fun
You rebutted with zero validity. But keep telling yourself that. https://media4.giphy.com/media/DFNd1yVyRjmF2/giphy-downsized-small.mp4
I will. And it was fun. Glad your anecdotes mean nothing. All your points were moot in the end.
I’ll leave it a this: A wise man told me don’t argue with fools, cause people from a distance can’t tell who’s who.
Noted, the fool was the one with anecdotal arguments. ????
If OnePlus would just make a small version of this phone, I would absolutely buy it. Unfortunately only me and about 100 other people would buy it and they'd never make another small phone again.
I used own the OnePlus X and it was such a good form factor but that phone only lasted one iteration lol I don't like how tall my 12 is, like I ain't got Shaq thumbs lol
I just looked up the specs of the OnePlus 12 compared to the S24 Ultra. Yea, that's pushing it; even for me. MyS24 Ultra's very comfortable to hold, but I'd like it if it were a little bit shorter.
