The new AI Mode that Google introduced to Search back in March appears to be some kind of a hit. Since being first released as a Labs experiment, Google can’t stop talking about how many millions of people are finding it useful and using it regularly. Because of this early popularity and adoption, they are hyper-focused on improving it with new features and making it available to new people.
Today, Google announced that the waitlist for access to AI Mode in Labs is now gone. If you want to use AI Mode, you can simply head into Labs (here) and turn it on to use it right away. And for some users, Google is just going to turn it on outside of Labs in a limited test. That test should start in the coming weeks.
As for new features, on desktop, AI Mode now has a left-side tab that will let you start new queries or see history in order to jump back in to previous research. I’d imagine will see some implementation of this on mobile before long, but for now you’ll find it on desktop only.
Google is also introducing rich product and place cards, giving you easy-to-read images, ratings and reviews, store hours for businesses, real-time pricing, etc. You’ll even find a map if there are multiple listings and you searched for places. Google is pulling from its Shopping Graph to bring in this info.
To get started with AI Mode, you’ll just head to Google Search’s Labs page.
Anyone using AI Mode regularly?

Sounds like crickets to me….
Yeah it seems this site is winding down, too much advertisement sales for Samsung, modding community isn't a story anymore, and phone and android updates are just boring anymore, there is just not anything that hits at excitement anymore. I have seen posts really decreasing. I miss the romming days, there was always excitement. one of the big reasons i quit was everyone wanted each incremental update out like now. Now android stops releasing those incremental updates 🙂 much of the news is about phones that us wont get 🙂 I like droid lifes reviews over many others and why I keep coming back even though i wont be buying a new phone for years unless someone finally comes out with something new. phone updates are boring, just nothing new , latest processor and updated cameras thats about it. android updates also are not very exciting anymore. The early android days were great fun though!
I agree. Phones just aren't exciting anymore and the modding was a lot of fun. The Moto Maker deal was neat as you could at least customize how you wanted your phone to look outside. Now they limit what colors the phones come in and they're all the same shape and size for the most part. Only difference are the cameras on the backs.
yeah pretty much. I had actually forgot about moto maker. I have always just been a black or silver phone guy but than put a case on it so kind of, colors never meant much to me. I thick the moto mods thing was a cool idea and surprised that died so fast too. but everyone that tried to do original things failed, so i guess its hard to complain they are all just boring as us consumers obviously didn't purchase enough to those things. I guess this AI stuff is the new thing, but i just have no interest in any of it.
