Friday Poll: Which New Pixel Device Did You Order?

Google announced six new devices this week. Literally. We have the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Pixel Watch 4, and Pixel Buds 2a. We have covered everything that’s new, the best deals for the devices, as well as talked about reactions to the devices and Google’s relatively cringe unveiling event video featuring Jimmy Fallon.

The only true question that remains is, which device(s) did you order? With six to choose from, if you’re a Google Pixel fan, we have to assume that one of these rubs you the right way. The only thing that might stop someone from ordering immediately would be the wait for the Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Having to wait until October is suboptimal, so we completely understand if you’re holding off for now.

Let us know if you pulled the trigger below in the poll, then feel free to explain yourself on why you did or why you didn’t in the comments section. We love the insight into the mind of our readers.

  • first time in a long time I haven't gotten a Google device (all the way back to the Nexus 1). wanted a clamshell though, and with nothing from Google, Razr got my dollars this cycle.

    not disappointed with my choice.

    • I went Samsung last time with the S24+ from a pixel 6. I prefer the pixel. Samsung has tried to build their own eco system like Apple but they half assed it. Half of their own apps they are killing off in favor of Google apps. They take to long on updates. They run their own app store with the same apps as the play store but they are not the same. Some apps you can only update from their store unless you un-install it and install the one from the play store. They are trying to compete head to head with Apple but are losing on the software side of things. Straight Google, they already did it for you. The only thing Samsung has in its favor is its hardware is faster but the camera is not better. My wife's iPhone is far better at taking pics as was my old Pixel 6.

  • I'm waiting to see what kind of deals come out 4th quarter. Historically you can save hundreds of dollars by waiting….. Hopefully Google offers another Gold Member discount like they have the last couple of years.

    • Right! Why do the cheap models get a better color selection. One would think the more expensive units would have a better choice.

  • Couldn't pull the fold trigger just yet. maybe on the 12. Looking absolutely forward to the new phone coming from the 8 Pro. Also picked up the Watch 4, Verizon gave me $185 for my OG pixel watch 1.

  • As always, the P10 Pro Fold and the Pixel watch 4. Even though it has the pSIM Slot, I've been switching my eSim on dozens of phones a year with Google Fi for the last 4-5 years without any issues or errors. Not sure about the esim fear. I've even dealt with multi eSIMs on a Pixel 9 Pro.

  • Got a watch, didn't get enuff for my Pixel 6a for trade in….. Guess I'll be waiting for Black Friday deals….

  • My intention was XL, but with the Pro being $200 less than the XL, with the same specs for the most part, specs that count to me. And with receiving the $200, that's $400 right there; that's my watch. So that's the way I justified it, going Pro instead of Pro XL. It's always about the money. Pixel 10 Pro Obsidian 128GB (Unlocked) oh and I got the $150 discount and I will receive what amount to $240 over 2 years because Google pays for the LTE on the watch and of course the year of AI Pro, what is that? I mean that's like $20 a month, man that's a deal you just can't pass up; they're just giving stuff away.

  • Is eSIM really that big a deal? Maybe on TMO it's just easier but it's very easy to move eSIMs on TMO so I don't understand the hate

    • Some people have multiple phones and want to be able to swap out SIM cards between phones

      • On VZW, Android to Android eSIM transfer works fine. It's iOS to Android always causing problems. (Android to iOS works fine, though)

    • Yes. It's a huge pain in the ass. We shouldn't have to go thought a carrier just to swap phones. I'm not going to be able to switch to my new Pixel 10 Pro for 10 days because of this eSIM bullshit.

  • Took Verizon an hour and a half to go from Galaxy watch ultra to Galaxy watch ultra 2025. I wish Google left the SIM card tray

  • I must admit I'm on the fence: I recently received my basic P9 3 months ago for a ridiculous low price which included a trade-in. I was thinking of the P10Pro because with the trade in of this P9 I can get even a lower price via Google Fi (I'm a subscriber). But is it really worth it? Mainstream news hardly covered the releases this time around and hardware wise, it seems like nothing is really an upgrade (except for an unproven new processor,) along with some software AI "improvements" which aren't as exciting to me. And, it's the same modem which I've been having a problem with on the P9: frequent WiFi disconnects.

  • I've always had the XL in the Pixel line and went with the 10 Pro as I wanted to switch to a smaller phone.

    • Almost did the same thing but figured I'd wait to go smaller once glasses come out.

  • My wife and I were planning on swapping to Fi anyway, and they were offering essentially free P10's ($300 off now + $499 back over 24 months). I wasn't necessarily drooling at the new Pixels, but for free (without having to trade our old phones in either) I am certainly down.

  • Has there been any posts regarding the modem in the 10 Pro XL at all? If there has I must have missed it?

  • Went with the Pro XL Obsidian 512GB. Fold is tempting, but I did not see enough of a use case. Coming from the 7a it should be a decent jump up in specs, plus I really like what I've seen of Pixelsnap.

      • Mostly that it wirelessly charges through the magnets. Hopefully some of my old wireless charging stuff still works, they’ve been inconsistent with that feature. Hope the Magsafe stuff is 100% compatible, then we have an established ecosystem to buy from.

    • I was equally unoriginal and ordered the 10XL Moonstone. 😀

I have the Arc Pulse on my 9XL – it took me 3 months to get it, so I haven't had it that long. I'm hoping it fits the 10XL. From what I can discern, the phone dimensions are almost exactly the same, but I've read rumors that the camera housing is a little bigger, so that might pose an issue. I hope not…

    • Same, pre-ordered both 1TB Pro XL colors and all colors of the Arc Pulse to mix and match as I feel.

  • Thought about the fold for a while. But went with the Pro 256GB Moonstone instead. I'll think about the fold next year.

  • Fold.

Thanks to eSim only, that's the only one I'm getting.

BC of oems moving to eSim only they will be losing money from people like me as it seems I may be out of sim card options next year & will finally be making my wife happy by having one phone only by then.

    • DUDE, enough about the esim….They can EASILY be transferred from phone to phone without customer service. Its actually easier than switching a physical sim.

    • So…you punished them by purchasing the more expensive phone. You really showed them! JK JK. I get wanting the physical SIM…especially on a secondary device, where you might want to swap phones more often.

      • I ordered the 10 pro xl, and I'm worried about this. This past June, I had some phone issues where I needed to swap to a back up device. My pixel 8 pro decided it's wifi and bluetooth module didn't want to work anymore. So to use tethering while I was out of town, I had to swap between it and another to have internet in the cabin. This will not be as easy now. I feel they can try to charge now for every esim activation instead of just freely swapping between device with a physical sim card.

With the 500 dollar credit on my Pixel 8 Pro, it was a no brainer. 2 year old used phone to sell for more than double what I could get selling it on my own, then with the 200 dollar credit and the other points from my purchase. I could get away with using my p8pro for another year, but I'm like new toys lol.
