Droid Incredible will have Internal Memory?

The Phandroid guys have been all over the Droid Incredible talk and today, snagged a few additional screen shots which show proof that the device will in fact have internal storage space.  It was rumored that there would be 8GB which this picture doesn’t completely represent, but I would guess that people can live with 6 and a quarter.  It should also be pointed out that Verizon needs to spell check their crappy Photoshop jobs. (Toatal?)

And couple of extra photos:  1 showing off LED notification settings and the second showing TV out awesomeness…

  1. Looks pretty promising…a lot Do we know if they will apps to be installed to that memory or if they have to be installed to the ROM like other Android phones?

  2. Looks pretty promising…a lot of my friends in the past have had nothing but problems with HTC phones, but they weren't running Android. I like the fact they have a TV out, that will push more phones to have this feature.

So my question about the 8GB of internal memory is this, can you install apps to it. Or is it just like having a permanent SD card installed? It sounds to me like it's the second one, just permanent storage until Google comes out with their secure system to allow installing apps on other than the ROM memory for non-rooted devices.

For the record, verizon doesn't develop the emulators internally, they are outsourced. We quality check them, so this must be an early build screenshot, because this emulator is not available in our Tech Support tools yet.

lol, “Toatal.” Also, those pictures are of an emulator, you can click around to get into all of the menus just as if you were actually using the phone. Whoever created the emulator made a typo 😉

  6. James Stoicheff

Hmm. A better camera than the Motorola Droid, but less memory?

  7. Mike Remby

Is there 8 internal plus sd card?

    1. kellex

      Oh yeah. 🙂

      1. Jay P

The problem is that the SD card is expandable upto 16GB so thats only 24GB 8+16=24 the only thing i like is the HDMI out and 8mp camera.

        1. kellex

Really? I thought expandable up to 32 plus the 8 internal?

What is Moto Droid internal memory? What the the most SD card size you can put in a Moto Droid?

ok come on people… are you not moto droid committed or what?!??! I don't wanna see these post… cause i don't wanna trade my Droid in for anything!! I don't think any other phone can do as much as my droid does, all the customizations… come on people, where is your loyalty!?!?!?!

    1. kellex

No one is asking you to trade in your Droid. We're simply shining some light on a possible addition to the Droid family.

This site will always be Moto Droid first. No more coffee for you this morning. 😛

      1. Michael_NM

Glad to hear that! A bit off topic, but have you heard anything about Moto working on the next generation?

        1. kellex

We're probably at least a year away from that. This phone is only like 7 months old. 😛

          1. Michael_NM

Patience is not one of my strong traits (actually it's a not a trait of mine at all). I'm still loving my Droid, and will happily wait at least a year for it's successor. I guess I just wondered if we're still just assuming there will be one, or if there's really one in the works.

          2. Endi

Hopefully it doesn't turn into another razr though, Moto's flagship for a decade.

Here's a little info for anyone. “Droid” is owned by Verizon. They add it to their android phones that they deem suitable for the title. Motorola droid is actually the not the “Droid” it was just a Verizon rename.

    1. IMA_210

Actually “Droid” is owned by George Lucas of Star Wars fame, Verizon is paying royalties to him to use the term. Hence the disclaimer on there site “DROID is a trademark of Lucasfilm Ltd. and its related companies. Used under license. “

      1. Michael_NM

I would love to know the details of that license. We hear Droooiid and Lucas hears cha-ching!

IMO, this is not a Droid. The Droid, is a Droid. lol
    No more Incredible posts :-/
    LOL

This phone is cool and what not…it lives up to its name “Incredible.” But, as I said earlier, there will only be one DROID and nothing ever beats the original. I was actually going to get this phone and switch my DROID till I found this real “Incredible” website and its community. Plus, believe me when I say trust me, HTC and Samsung manufacture the cheapest phones ever…not software or Sense UI, but the actually phone and its hardware are incredibly cheap. Anyway, I'm still waiting for Motorola DROID 2 and I really hope Motorola doesn't prolong that…they usually tend to do that once they make their money (i.e. StarTac and Razr).

    TV out would be badass.

  13. CyberPete

Yeah, I did notice a “TV-out” adapter cable in the “launch package” posted by Phandroid. It's a 3.5mm plug that, I assume connects to the headset jack, and has RCA connectors for video, left, and right on the other end.
So don't be expecting HD video. Very cool all the same.

  14. scuzzullbutt

    That is one ugly phone!!!

    1. Infojock

You got that right! It looks cheap too..

    2. m3commish

Clearly, someone stuck in a 2 year plan with the Droid — and this is no knock on the Droid. 🙂

  15. nevinale

Kellex, I am really glad to see you covering Droid Incredible news. It would be great if you continue with this. My Droid is too good for me to switch right now, but reading news about this would definitely be awesome.. And no other site provides better droid news than this one! Cheers..

  16. Sacchin

The phone seems cool and all but there's just a bit of an issue for me…

ITS HTC! I've never had good experiences with HTC but these days they seem to be the premier phone company manufacturer

Why is Motorola not putting out more?

    1. kellex

HTC is the top Android phone manuf and it's not really close. I would say that issues of past HTC products are long gone.

And Motorola seems to be too worried about making entry-level devices. Other than the Droid, they haven't come out with a decent product in a while.

      1. Winterfresh

Not to be mr. Negative, but my old htc dash was the toughest phone ive ever had, it fell into a puddle of water on a flume ride and still worked.

But they need to start making the screens glass for one.. now i havent looked into the incredible, but i assume its the same as the N1, and i held an N1 and it felt cheap, maybe im just spoiled with the medal on the droid, just my 2 cents

      2. m3commish

You couldn't be more dialed in with this comment.

  17. Doolidg

Na na naa naa naa na naaa I cant hear you..
If I cant hear you I wont know….

    It does seem cool…. :-p

  18. Jppress

of course my home stereo has a usb input and reads divx so i “kind of” have the ability to watch stuff on my tv from my phone. but no live screen. is that what the Incredible does? live screen viewing on tv?

  19. Jppress

TV OUT!!!!??????!!!! What the F? THAT'S AWESOME!!!!!

  20. picaso86

I am debating between this phone and my Droid… I dont want to leave my Droid.. :[ but this phone seem Awesome!
