If you read the description in the top left screenie, they’ve done a fantastic job at explaining what this app does. It’s not Foursquare and it’s not just a location-based Tweet machine (although it can be). It really just finds you and then allows you to tell specific people in your contact list exactly where you are (no need to add friends, it’s everyone in your current list). One of the extra cool features, is how you can tell it to follow you around and trace your path on a map for a while. So if you leave home and the wifey is following you an hour later, you can send her a Glympse and she’ll see that you’ve stopped off for a 12-pack on the way to the in-laws. Awesome!
It also has a pretty cool Facebook feature built in to the newest release. Worth checking out if you are into that social networking/location thing.
And yes, this one is free.

Good news for Android users, now they can use Glympse to track mobile phone locations.
I tried Glympse on Symbian mobile phone and it worked great.

Seems to have a couple of bugs…, like not being able to EXPIRE a Glympse unless I reboot my DROID
Don't want people watching me, period. I really don't this .. but do appreciate the options for others. Privacy, is such a thing of the past, this only cements the idea that the past is just that, the past.
What's the point of this app?
Seems like a lot of feature overlap with my current apps (My Tracks, Latitude, Twitter, etc.) Though, it does have a shinny UI.
Love the 0.0 mph speed. That can be a great speed at times. 🙂
Meh…..I have Google Latitude for the gf and me, it works just fine. There's no need for everyone of my friends to know where I am. But I will check it out. It might work better than GL.
I tried it but it didn't work for me. I sent my wife a “glympse” but she didn't receive it. It's almost a half hour since I sent it and nothing. I also expired the glympse in case it wouldn't send it until the time ran out (30 min) but nothing. Has anyone tried this yet or are all the good comments based on potential?
oh and Kellex, the screenie contains your real name dude, idk if you intended that or not
I don't care heh. If people really want to know my real name they could've found out long ago. I do have an About page. 😛
I agree with Jppress, I would've expected a pretty penny for this app.
But there are ads so I guess it evens out. They should offer a paid and free version, I'd totally donate to this developer
Best part about this new update (besides the facebook sharing) is that you can disable the speed setting… that's SO nice; don't want people watching me to know my speed!
….or more!
wow. didn't expect it to be free. i could see 3.99 for this one
