Gunslugs for Android is a Great Shoot ’em Up Platformer
Nothing beats a good ‘ol fashioned platformer game. Gunslugs, from OrangePixel, combines great on-screen controls, a sweet soundtrack, and bitchin’ guns all to your mobile device. Rovio Hosting $0.99 Sale on HD Titles Through Google Play
Today, you can go grab the HD versions of three big titles from Rovio, including Angry Birds Star Wars, Angry Birds Space, and Amazing Alex. With HD, you will notice a few more details here and there in terms of looks and overall aesthetics of the gameplay. No telling how long the sale will last, so if you have to buy these games, I guess now would be the time.

The Simpsons: Tapped Out Hits Google Play, Homer Went and Blew Up Springfield
D’oh! This morning, an official The Simpsons title has been launched by EA called Tapped Out. The back story is your typical Simpsons – Homer, instead of doing his job at the plant in Sector 7-G, is at his station fiddling with some app on his tablet. Naturally, he is too involved with his game that the plant erupts, causing Springfield to be completely blown off the map. And as we find out, the safest place to be during an atomic explosion, is ground zero. Your job is to then recreate Springfield and find your family. (more…)

Gameloft Releases First Gameplay Video for Blitz Brigade, a Team-based FPS

A couple of weeks back, Gameloft posted a teaser for its newest title, a “team-based” first person shooter (FPS) called Blitz Brigade. As was pointed out in the comments of that post, the game gave off a Team Fortress 2 and Battle Heroes feel. In this new gameplay video, I’d say it doesn’t shed that label at all. It still looks like it could be an entertaining mobile title, just not an original one.

Shapes & Sounds: The Shape Shooter Makes Asteroids a New-School and Beautiful Android Game
Last night, we were turned onto a new game to Android called Shapes & Sounds: The Shape Shooter. The name, while a bit lengthy and overdone, is the exact opposite of the actual game. Shapes & Sounds is quite like the Asteroids of old, but it has been designed in such a beautifully minimal way that it’s like playing a new game. (more…)
