  • Plague Inc. Goes Live on Google Play – Goodbye Human Race

Last week, we got the heads up that Plague Inc., a popular strategy-based game on iOS, was coming to Android. Today, it’s live and Android users are quickly becoming infected. You create a bacteria or virus and release it onto the world’s population. The goal is kill off everyone on Earth before the humans can create a cure. It’s an interesting idea and there are many people who love this kind of scenario.

For now, it only looks like a couple of tablets are supported, as I couldn’t find it on any of my phones. We’ll have to see if that gets changed in the coming days.

Update:  More devices seem to be compatible now. Probably just a little switch that needed flipping.  (more…)

  • Zaxxon Escape Released for Android – 30 Years Later and It’s Still Great

I will admit that I wasn’t around in 1982 and given that information, you will allow me to be somewhat ignorant on what the hit games of the day were. From what I hear, Zaxxon was pretty popular in those things they call “arcades” and today, Zaxxon is back! With a completely re-imagined look, it reminds me of Temple Run, but in space. You’re flying down this corridor and as you come upon turns you swipe the screen to go different directions, shoot your laser cannons to collect points, and above all else, don’t crash. (more…)

  • Air Navy Fighters for Android – Take Control of an F/A-18 Super Hornet

Here’s a game I’ve been looking for – a modern fighter jet game with decent controls. It’s called Air Navy Fighter and it’s pretty awesome. You take control of a Hornet and do various missions that include destroying ground targets, SAM sites, and more. So far, the most difficult thing I’ve encountered is actually landing the plane back on the carrier.

There’s a pro version that offers more planes which I may have to invest in, but for now, this free version comes with plenty of missions and the controls are excellent. If you’re into the jets and blowing things up with guidied missiles  you can’t go wrong.

Play Link: Lite | Pro ($1.99)

    Cheers Ben!

  • Madfinger’s Shadowgun: Deadzone Hits Private Beta, Open to the Public in Coming Weeks

Madfinger Games has been teasing Shadowgun: Deadzone for too long! We just received word that they have opened a private beta to European players and the U.S. will also be receiving the same beta treatment here in the next two weeks.

Madfinger will want to start testing network connections, fixing bugs, and other misc. things that could spell trouble for a massive online multiplayer game such as Deadzone. The open beta for the U.S. will be in Google Play, so everyone that wants to take part can have super easy access.

I am definitely pumped for this release and we’ll let you know as soon as the beta goes live for us here in the States.

  • Noodlecake’s League of Evil Hits Android, Time to Slap Evil Scientists in the Face

This morning, Noodlecake Studios released League of Evil onto Google Play for Android devices and let me say, it kicks major butt. It’s an 8-bit throwback platformer that has great controls and just the right amount of challenge. Plus, it has a killer soundtrack and SFX. The plot is basic – you play a bad ass whose mission is to kill evil scientists known as the League of Evil that are building weapons of mass destruction. Easy.  (more…)

  • “Be the Shark” in Jaws Revenge for Android

One of my favorite movies has been made into a fun Android game called Jaws Revenge. In this game, you play as Jaws and of course, terrorize people. By eating as many people and certain objects as you can, you gain points and can even level up your shark for bigger teeth, faster speeds, and other goodies.  (more…)

  • NBA 2K13 Released for Android, the Ultimate NBA Experience on Your Mobile

Hoops fans, 2K Game’s NBA 2K13 just hit Google Play and with some extremely impressive graphics and features, it may just live up to the $8 price tag. The game features a soundtrack curated by none other than Jay-Z, allows you to relive past games such as Kobe’s 81 point spectacle, and even brings full TV-like commentary from Kevin Harlan and Clark Kellogg.  (more…)

  • Sky Gamblers: Rise Of Glory – Fantastic Graphics and Rich Multiplayer Makes for Air Superiority

I stumbled upon Sky Gamblers: Rise of Glory today  in Google Play and so far, I really like it. With a great mix of easy to learn controls, engaging gameplay, and cool old planes, it’s definitely worth checking out. Basically, you take the controls of old fighter planes and engage in various dogfight missions. What gives the game even more credit is that there’s a fantastic online multiplayer with game types such as Team Deathmatch, Defend the Base, and Capture the Flag. (more…)
