Lara Croft: Guardian of Light Hits Google Play, We Miss Angelina Jolie
Tomb Raider fans can grab the brand new Guardian of Light off of the Google Play Store. It throws you deep into Central America in search for an artifact that gives its possessor the ability to control the future of mankind. Naturally, you have to stop the bad guys from getting to it first.
The game costs $1.29, but I haven’t been able to find a device that is compatible yet. If you run into the same issue, let us know down below.

EA Games Releases World Series of Poker to Google Play, Feed Your Addiction on the Go
Not that there haven’t been gambling applications on Android before, but today, EA is bringing the full World Series of Poker experience to our phones. For the low price of free, you can jump into hands of Texas Hold ‘Em, Omaha or other game types with your friends or people playing the application around the world. Win some hands and get some earnings and this app allows you to compete for virtual bracelets and those earnings can go towards buying in at higher-stakes tables.
There’s just one catch: you have to login to the application with your Facebook account. At the time there’s no way to play without giving them your information so that alone might be a deal breaker for some. The developers are promising a guest mode that will work without Facebook at some point but you will have to wait for that. If you just have to have your gamblin fix, hit the link below.

Amazon Introduces GameCircle, Social Gaming Comes to Amazon Apps

Today, Amazon introduced GameCircle. And yes, it is just like Game Center that Apple has built in for iOS. With GameCircle, users can now track certain achievements in a game, keep up with global leaderboards, and also save a game’s progress to the cloud for when they switch devices or delete a game from their phone. This may not be new technology by any means, but it’s great news for developers and Amazon Appstore users who want more out of their games. (more…)

OUYA: The Android-Powered Gaming Console That Wants to Take on the Big Boys (Updated)
My two biggest gripes with mobile Android gaming are as follows: I don’t have a reliable controller for most of the games, and the screens are too small to really get immersed in. Kickstarter is hosting a very promising looking project called OUYA (pronounced ooh-yah) that looks to take mobile gaming back to the living room, and rival the big console makers. This Android powered console is calling on the powers of Android’s open development platform and the free-to-play model of gaming that has been all the rage recently. Can this grassroots program rattle the cages of Sony and Microsoft?
Update: And within a couple hours of posting, OUYA went from about $600K to over $1 million and is now past their goal with 29 days still to go. That was insanely fast.
