    Chrome App Updated With Article Suggestions, Background Media Playback

    An update for Chrome is headed out, available for download now on Google Play. Inside Chrome 54, users can expect to see a few changes, such as the ability to view article suggestions from inside a new tab page.

    Also listed in the changelog is support for background media playback, but only for sites that support it, as well as a feature for updating saved passwords when you change or reset them on Chrome.  (more…)

    When the Pixel Launcher was first leaked, a wallpaper picker was leaked right alongside it. This morning, that wallpaper app is officially available for all Android devices straight from Google Play.     Chrome Canary Lands on Android With Its “Unstable” Self

    Chrome, the browser you probably use on both your phone and desktop, comes in a variety forms. You have the stable channel – also known as Chrome – that is ready for widespread use. You have a beta channel – also known as Chrome Beta – which is somewhat experimental and often gets new features before stable, but could be somewhat unreliable at times. You have the dev channel – known as Chrome Dev – which is pre-beta, almost an alpha, and is certainly not-all-that-stable, but is a good place to look for upcoming Chrome features. These benefits include unlimited photo storage, plus 5GB for videos and other files.     A new list of games and apps are on sale in Google Play, reassuring everyone that you will have something to do over the weekend. The bigger titles would have to be Hitman GO and Lara Croft GO, two classics that truly need to be tried by all. Those are priced at $1 a pop.

    On top of those, This War of Mine, which is another title that I recommend everyone play for a bit, is on sale for $4. That’s down from its original price of $15. Other titles on sale include Catan, République, and Final Fantasy IV.

    Google Photos Will Now Create Animations From Videos, Fix Your Sideways Pictures

    Four new features are available in Google Photos starting today, according to Google’s latest announcement. As the Photos team details, there are three new ways to see past experiences and memories, as well as a new way to fix all of those sideways photos in your albums.

    Inside, users will now begin to see more throwback memories of people you have recently taken photos with. To give an example, if you and your partner have been together for years, Google’s machines will recognize this, then pull together an assortment of photos that feature the same people. Let’s just hope Google realizes she or he is possibly an ex and doesn’t make you too depressed.  (more…)
