    Samsung Pay Turns One, Adds Support for Coupons

    Samsung Pay, Samsung’s mobile and desktop payments platform, is now officially one year old. According to Samsung, the platform supports over 500 banks, representing over 80% of the US debit and credit card market.

    To celebrate this joyous occasion, Samsung is adding in support for coupons. To break it down, Samsung Pay will feature a coupon service to search, store, as well as redeem coupons. Basically, if you frequently shop at a supported outlet, coupons will be posted inside of the app which you can claim and store, then redeem while you are doing your shopping.  (more…)

    Tuesday Poll: Are You Still Using Allo?

    You have now had a week to adopt Allo and implement it into your daily life, but have you? On a personal level, while I admit the app is cool, it simply does not offer me enough to kick the habit of Hangouts and standard text messaging. Maybe if a desktop client was made available and there were a few features I couldn’t live without, I could see myself continuing to use it. Not only that, but attempting to get all of my friends and family onto Allo just doesn’t seem all that appealing.

    As Googlers on social media have made clear, what we see today is only the beginning. Google will continue to change Allo and add features; features that we hope will draw us into using it more. Until then, Allo isn’t for me.

    Upcoming YouTube Go App Engineered to Limit Data Usage, Help Those With Slow Data Speeds

    In 2017, YouTube intends to launch a new application called YouTube Go. The app has been in the works at YouTube for some time, with teams of engineers, designers, and researchers travelling to India, collecting ideas and testing prototypes with hundreds of people across 15 cities. The goal, according to YouTube, is to offer those with slower data connections the ability to watch any video at any time, hopefully regardless of connectivity speeds.  (more…)

    This Icon Pack is Hot: Simpax

    Here is an icon pack that is not only incredibly hot, it’s also different than anything you have probably used to date. It’s called Simpax, and I highly recommend this as your next home screen customization.

    Simpax, which stands for “Simplicity Maximized,” made its debut within the past week from designer sikebo, who you may know from other popular icon packs we have featured, including Materialistik, Retrorika, and Immaterialis. It certainly is simple or minimalistic, but it still manages to have a very unique style or attitude of its own.     Report: Twitter Internally Debates Selling Off to Google, Salesforce, or Verizon

    According to reports this morning, Twitter may be looking to sell itself off before year’s end. Possible buyers have already been named, with three large companies reportedly leading the pack of potential suitors.     The Uncertain, published for SHIELD Android TV owners, is available on Google Play priced at $14.99. In this game, which has quite the story to it, you play as an Engineering Robot who seems quite curious about the human race that has been extinct for quite some time.

    On Earth now, a race of robots live in complete harmony, not ruled by war, and remain completely logical in all aspects of robotic life. Better said by the game’s description, “Imagine that you have to make a moral choice in a world with no such term as morality. Every decision made here is a set of zeros and ones, and sometimes it has nothing to do with common sense.” (more…)

    Stable Chrome OS Gets Google Play and Android Apps on Two Chromebooks

    Google Play and Android apps moved a step closer to a broader release to more devices today, thanks to a graduation of the Google Play beta experience to Chrome OS stable. Wait, did that make sense? What I’m saying is that Chrome OS stable (v53.0.2785.129) now has access to Google Play and Android apps, though only on two devices at the moment.
