    You Can Now Hail a Lyft or Gett Ride Straight From Google Maps

    Recently inside of Google Maps, users were able to hail an Uber car while looking to see how long a trip may take. Now, Google is also adding in support for Lyft throughout the US, as well as Gett in New York City.

    The way to access this feature remains unchanged. For example, once a destination is entered, you can review how long a trip will be depending on which mode of transportation you take. Under the Taxi section, you will now see Lyft options alongside Uber, as well as price and arrival estimations for both services.  (more…)

    Nest Releases Sightline and Person Alerts Software Update for Cams, Gives Everyone Free 3-Hour History

    Nest says that they have “changed the game” as of this morning with the release of a major software update to the Nest app that brings new functionality to Nest Cams (both indoor and outdoor, and Dropcams). The update includes Sightline, a smart software that can pull out the “key moments” in a day for later reviewing, and Person Alerts, which are exactly what they sound like.     Nintendo Will Launch Super Mario Run for Android in the Future

    One of the more exciting announcements during the iPhone 7 event was the introduction of Super Mario Run from Nintendo. To describe the upcoming game as plainly as possible, it looks like a horizontal Temple Run, but Mario. The game is to be made available exclusively for iOS at first, but Nintendo has confirmed to Kotaku that Super Mario Run will indeed come to Android eventually.  (more…)

    Google Maps is Getting Lists to Help Keep Places Organized

    In the latest Google Maps beta, Google has included a new feature that is currently only available to Google Local Guides rated level 4 and higher. That new feature is lists, which is pretty self-explanatory, but could also be really, really useful for heavy Maps users.

    With the new lists option in Maps, users will be able to create and view lists of places through the “Your places” section sitting in the slideout navigation menu. Once in there, the new lists area shows a FAB in the bottom corner that allows you to create new lists, but also starts out with a handful to get you going, like “Favorites,” “Want to go,” and “Shared places.” In order to save items to lists, you’ll still tap on the “Save” button when viewing a location, but with lists activated, you will see a list of your lists pop-up for selection.  (more…)

    Google has announced the Google Play Indie Games Festival, a place for developers and mobile gamers to come together and play the latest and greatest indie titles. During the festival, those in attendance will have a unique opportunity to play unreleased indie games from many developers, then vote to see which games will win awards.
