    Apple Music Jumps Out of Beta, Which It Probably had Some Dumb Exclusive On

    Apple Music, a late-to-the-party and sloppily created music service that few would care about if it wasn’t for Apple’s large bank account and the company’s willingness to empty that account into the pocket books of musicians for exclusive rights to songs and albums, is now out of beta. I know, you probably didn’t even realize that it was still technically in beta, but it was. And now, it isn’t.

    By shedding the beta tag, Apple Music has landed on v1.0.0 with a new equalizer and other performance, playback, and stability improvements along for the ride.  (more…)

    Supposed Nexus Launcher Leaked This Week, You can Download It Today

    Over the past couple of days, leaks of a “Nexus Launcher” have made various appearances, first as just a  visual representation and then as an actual .apk file almost anyone could load. We promise we haven’t been ignoring it, we’ve just been doing things like covering phone events and not getting overly-hyped over a half-working, slightly-tweaked feature-weak version of the Google Now Launcher that also happens to have a permanent calendar widget.

    But anyways, this new Nexus Launcher is thought to arrive on the new Nexus phones in due time. It’s not a radical new invention of the launcher, but it does offer some changes that you may have to get used to, assuming you are partial to the classic app drawer button.  (more…)

    BlackBerry Launches Hub+ Suite of Apps for Android 6.0+ Devices

    BlackBerry announced the Hub+ suite of applications this morning, not limited to just BlackBerry devices. In fact, any Android device running Android 6.0+ can use these apps free of charge and ad-free, at least for a limited time. Inside this suite is the Hub app itself, the unified inbox that helps users keep their email and messages organized, while also secured.

    In addition to Hub, BlackBerry is allowing everyone to download its Password Keeper application (self explanatory, I hope), Calendar, Notes, Tasks, Launcher, and more. The apps are the exact same you would find on any recently launched BlackBerry Android device.  (more…)
