Just by searching within the Google App, you’ll find everything from event schedules, medal counts, and athlete info to results and highlights. Pokemon GO Update Removes Broken 3-Step Tracking, Adds Trainer Re-Customization
Pokemon GO received an update this weekend that includes a lengthy list of changes, some of which add new features while others seem to take away functionality, even if the functionality was broken.
Below, you can view the full list, but we feel like we should point out a couple of items. First, you can now re-customize your trainer in the trainer profile screen. So if your original ‘fit wasn’t fresh enough, it now can be. The update also refines “certain Gym animations,” improves memory issues, modifies battle damage calculations, and tweaks the achievement medal images. (more…)

Swiftkey is Having Odd Prediction Issues, Turns Off Syncing Temporarily
Users of Swiftkey noticed some odd behavior from the popular keyboard this week, behavior that resulted in “unfamiliar” terms, and in some cases email addresses, showing as predictions. In a short blog post released this morning, Swiftkey acknowledged the problems while stating that they do not believe any of this is the result of a security issue. For the time being, though, they will be turning off cloud syncing.
It’s tough to tell the cause for Swiftkey’s behavior and the company even noted that the “vast majority” of users were not at all affected. With that said, they are asking that you email reviews@swiftkey.com if you are seeing odd predictions as you type. (more…)

Friday App Sales: Last Horizon, Minecraft: Story Mode, Star Walk, and More
The weekend has arrived and we already know you got nothing going on. Even if you do, I’m sure you can find a bit of time to play a few games or mess with a few new apps. Over on Google Play, you can grab a ton of apps and games on sale, including Final Fantasy VI, Last Horizon, and Minecraft: Story Mode.
If games aren’t your thing, a couple nifty apps called Star Walk: Astronomy Guide and Star Walk 2 are also on sale, both of which I use myself when gazing up at the twinkling stars. They are great apps for identifying constellations and which planets you are staring at.

Google Docs and Sheets Gain App Add-Ons on Android
This morning, Google introduced a new feature to Google Docs and Sheets that allows 3rd party apps to better integrate their services into Google’s office suite. Called Android Add-ons, you will now be able to trigger a DocuSign action from within Docs, import CRM data from ProsperWorks, and even easily scan documents with a combination of Scanbot and Docs or Sheets. Google Play Gets “Family Library,” so You Can Share Purchases With Up to 6 People
Today, Google is introducing the Google Play Family Library, giving families the opportunity to share purchases from Google Play across accounts, so that everyone always has access to movies, TV shows, apps, games, and books. The service or feature is free and will be available over the next few days in a variety of countries, including the US.
So how does this work? As noted above, if opted-in, you will be able to share “eligible” apps, games, movies, TV shows, and books with up to six (6) family members. You’ll notice that music isn’t listed – more on that in a second. (more…)

Google Play Gets New App Categories, Including Dating, Parenting and Auto
Within the next 60 days, you will start to see a batch of new application categories hit Google Play to help you discover more and to help developers get their apps in front of the people who want them. Starting today, the categories will be available for developers to choose from, but again, they may not hit Google Play for all to see for up to 60 days, according to Google. (more…)
