    This is my absolute favorite time of the year.  Some people love X-mas or the Super Bowl, I love the NCAA tourney.  And to celebrate that here at Droid Life, it’s time to invite everyone in to the DL NCAA Tourney Bracket Challenge where one of you will walk away with $100 cold hard PayPal cash.  This is a winner-take-all contest, as no one cares about second place when it comes to the NCAA tournament.  We’re not doing anything weird with this; it’s your standard bracket challenge just like you would fill out with your homies in the office.  We’ll even accept in the ladies who choose by uniform color and mascot animal.  Let’s do this!

  • And the Slacker Radio Plus Subscription Winners are…

    It’s Friday afternoon which means it’s time to announce the three winners to our Slacker Radio subscription contest!  To recap, we’re giving away three 3-month subscriptions to their Plus service and have chosen 2 winners who entered on Twitter and 1 who “liked” our Facebook page.

  • Verizon Giving Away $200 Gift Cards Every Hour Today

    We found this tip snuggled in the forums and had to share with everyone.  Verizon is giving away a $200 gift card every hour today to celebrate the launch of a certain phone.  That doesn’t mean that Android users aren’t welcome though.  In fact, Android owners winning gift cards from an i*hone-inspired event has “WIN” written all over it.

  • Dallas Radio Station Giving Away 4 Motorola XOOMs, 1 Day Left to Enter

    If you live in the Dallas area, you should probably jump on this opportunity immediately.  Local station 105.3 is giving away 4 Motorola XOOMs, but the entry deadline is tomorrow at midnight meaning time is critical.  They have partnered up with the Ochocinco News Network and Motorola to hand out the first Honeycomb tablet which they are valuing at $500.  Interesting.  I should also point out that this radio station’s contest rules refer to a 14-day window for picking up your prize…that help narrow down a release date?

  • Please Welcome in the New Droid Life Logos…

    I just have to start this off by thanking everyone for all of the ridiculously amazing submissions.  We had over 125 logos entered into this contest and the decision to choose a winner was more difficult than I had ever imagined.  It was obvious from the beginning that you all understood the look we were going for without even giving you many instructions, so I want to applaud all of your efforts.  We easily have the most talented group of Android enthusiasts on the planet.  Amazing work everyone.

    And with that said, we were unable to pick just 1 winner.  As you can see above, we have two logos on display and have chosen them as co-winners!  One is a fun, 3D, in-your-face Android beast, while the other fits perfectly into our obsession with all things minimalist.  They might be on complete opposite ends of the logo spectrum, but they are both in a weird way, exactly what we were looking for.

    Everyone give a solid fist bump to Christopher (left logo) and Wayne (right logo)!

    The original prizes were an Android mini-collectible and an ezeStand, but to let them know how much we love and appreciate their work, we’ve decided to toss in some cash as well.  Great stuff you guys!

    So going forward, you’ll see a lot of testing of both logos as we decide how best to implement them.

  • Droid Life Reader Headed to Super Bowl XLV, Wins Verizon’s Extreme NFL Experience Contest

    This story is just too cool not to share with everyone.  Do you all remember Verizon’s Extreme NFL Experience contest that we wrote about back in November?  You know, the one that would send 2 people to Super Bowl XLV in Dallas for 4 nights, give them round trip tickets, game tickets, ground transportation, $250 in spending cash and a bunch of swag?  A Droid Life reader won it!

    David from Pittsburgh texted from his Droid just as the contest had asked and will now take his son down to Texas to enjoy this year’s Super Bowl.  Fitting that they are from Pittsburgh and that they are huge sports fans, right?  Congrats guys!  And have a blast!

    And to brag for just a moment, that puts the Droid Life winner total up to at least 7 or 8 I think.  We’ve had multiple Droid X scavenger hunt winners, multiple R2-D2 hunt winners, a Galaxy Tab contest winner, an awards show winner, and now this.  I guess reading DL pays off?
