• Humble Bundle for Android 2 Available Now – 5 New Games Debut, All Can be Yours with a Simple Donation

The previous Humble Bundle for Android was such a success, that its creators are launching version 2 this morning with 5 games, brand new to our favorite platform. For those not familiar with the service, think of it as a bidding process for DRM-free apps, only you can bid whatever you want and still receive the entire bundle. The value of all of the games in this latest bundle sits somewhere around $57, but you can bid $1 if you’d like. Just remember, that part of the deal is to support charities and developers of the apps.

In this latest bundle, Android enthusiasts will find 5 games new to Android that all look impressive. The list is as follows:

• Zen Bound 2:  the meditative 3D puzzler
• Canabalt:  the indie parkour platformer
• Cogs:  the critically acclaimed steampunk indie puzzler
• Avadon: The Black Fortress:  an Android tablet special — the epic, old-school role-playing game

If you pay more than the average price, you get a 5th game for free – that game is Swords & Soldiers.

Visit HumbleBundle.com to get in on the fun.

• [Deal] Galaxy Nexus Extended Battery Just $25 Through Amazon

If you were not able to take advantage of Verizon’s deal on extended batteries for the Galaxy Nexus, then you should know that there is a serious deal going on over at Amazon. For just $20, you can scoop up the 2100mAh extended battery for your G-Nex instead of waiting for Verizon to replenish their $50 a pop stock of them. It won’t make your phone last a week, but will definitely give you a much needed battery boost on a 4G LTE device that needs all the juice it can get.

Update: The price has now gone up to $25.23. Still 50% off and a great deal.

Buy.

Cheers GD!

• Costco Offers the DROID Bionic for $59, Throws in a Car Dock and Spare Battery Charger for Free

Something about the DROID Bionic that has caught your eye over the Galaxy Nexus, DROID RAZR, and HTC Rezound? If that is the case, you may want to consider purchasing it at Costco, who has seemingly dropped the price to $59 on contract and will toss in a car dock and spare battery charger to sweeten the deal. We reviewed the Bionic back in September and gave it mostly good marks. It’s screen may not be up to the quality of those three devices I mentioned at the beginning of this post, but it’ll work if you only have a few 20s to spend on your next phone.

Cheers ___!

• Verizon Offers $200 “Exclusive” 4G LTE Smartphone Discount to Select Customers?

With no major smartphone releases happening until the end of March or early April, Verizon has instead temporarily moved into the deal business. Last week it was a Leap Day sale of $100 off all 4G LTE phones. The week prior to that we saw a regional discount for free Galaxy Nexus devices. And today, some readers are receiving texts messages that mention an “exclusive” $200 discount for any 4G LTE smartphone that Verizon offers.

We reached out to Big Red to see if we can get additional details on the promo, so sit tight and try not to bombard their customer service with calls. It’s likely regional and the same as the free Nexus promo – only available to select VZW customers that meet a handful of criteria.

Update:  This again appears to be a south region promo. Verizon has made it clear that you cannot call in to receive the discount. If you qualify, they will let you know.

Cheers R. Wayne!

• GSM Galaxy Nexus in White Available for $529 [from AL]

We are still expecting a white Galaxy Nexus to arrive on Verizon at some point within the next couple of months, but if you can’t wait, DailySteals has the white GSM version for just $529. It’s 16GB and runs the same build of Android that the non-white version runs. From what we know, it’s identical, but with a white exterior.

• Reminder: Verizon Leap Day Sale Happening Now, Save $100 on the RAZR MAXX and Galaxy Nexus

You probably all received the email reminder, but in case you didn’t, we wanted to make sure you saw it. Verizon’s Leap Day sale is live and can save you $100 off of any 4G LTE smartphone. The $299 Galaxy Nexus and RAZR MAXX can be had for as little as $199. You will find the Bionic for free and the DROID 4 and regular RAZR for $99. Not a bad day for a smartphone purchase.

Buy.

• Verizon Leap Day Sale: $100 Off Their Best Devices, Including the Galaxy Nexus

Since tomorrow is Leap Day, Verizon has decided to run a 1 day sale that is worth waiting for if you are on the verge of purchasing a new phone. Their landing page for the special includes all of their top devices such as the Galaxy Nexus, Rezound and DROID RAZR which will be available with a $100 discount. So instead of the $299 you would normally pay for the Nexus, you can snag it for $199. And it’s tough to tell from this page, but the RAZR is currently listed at $199 and the Rezound at $99, so there is a chance we could see them at $99 and FREE respectively. I guess well know on that tomorrow.

Shop (for tomorrow).

Cheers Jim!

• Verizon’s Free Galaxy Nexus Promo is Regional, Calling Customer Service Won’t Get You Anywhere

Over the weekend, one of our readers received the email of his dreams from Verizon. It included details on how he could get himself into a Galaxy Nexus for…free! The post caused quite the stir in the comments and across the web as VZW customers called every customer service number on the planet to try and find a way to get a similar deal. Most came up empty and we now know why.

According to Verizon, the deal is only available to the select regions of the country. Customers are also selected according to a number of criteria, so calling in to see if you qualify is not going to get you anywhere. If a mailer shows up on your doorstep or an email in your inbox, then you know you are in the proper region and meet their checklist. Basically what I’m saying is, stop calling Big Red.
