  • DROIDX2 Available Now Online at Verizon, Xperia PLAY Up for Pre-order

Both the newly announed DROIDX2 and Xperia PLAY are up on Verizon’s website – one of them to buy right now and the other to pre-order.  The DX2 will likely ship out to your house this afternoon or tomorrow, but as we told you yesterday, can be purchased in non-corporate VZW stores today if you don’t feel like waiting.  The Xperia PLAY on the other hand is just a pre-order and will ship some time around 5/25.  Each phone is listed at $199 on 2-year contract or $449 at full retail.  Again, we’re loving this new approach to full retail pricing from Big Red – please keep it up.

  • Want a DROIDX2 Early? Non-corporate Verizon Stores are Selling Them In-store Tomorrow

Verizon made the DROIDX2 official this morning by announcing that the device would be available online starting May 19 (tomorrow) and in stores next Thursday (May 26) for $199.  However, if you wanted to walk out of a store with one in hand early, then you should head in to a non-corporate Verizon store including GoWireless and Best Buy as they will have them in-stock and ready for purchase tomorrow.  We’re not exactly sure why these other retail outlets were cleared to sell them early, but that appears to be the case.

    Cheers G and @2Glock3!

  • Asus Transformer 16GB and 32GB In Stock at Walmart (Updated: All Gone)

If you have been waiting impatiently for an Asus Transformer to show up as “in stock” somewhere, then you may want to pop over to Walmart immediately.  They have both in stock, but for whatever reason are not calling theirs the “Transformer.”   It’s definitely it though.

32GB model (out of stock now)| 16GB model (also gone now)

    Cheers Davies!

  • DROID Incredible 2 Drops to $79 at Amazon

Anyone needed a last minute Mother’s Day gift?  The brand new DROID Incredible 2 by HTC is available at Amazon for $79 if you sign a new 2-year contract.  I’d call that more than a steal, especially knowing that it’ll cost you $199 if you walk into a Verizon store.

We’ve already reviewed it, in case you were looking for reasons as to why you should or should not make this your next Android device.  We’re highly recommended it as long as you don’t care about dual-core processors and 4G LTE.  This is one of the more polished phones I’ve used in the last 6 months, and can easily say that you won’t be disappointed.

    Buy.

    Cheers Doug!

  • Accessory Sales: 25% Off of Items From Verizon and Motorola

There are couple of accessory deals going on today through both Verizon and Motorola that will save you 25% (up to) off of whatever you order.  If you choose Verizon, you have to grab 3 or more items to save 25% off, but you can drop it down to 2 and still save 20%.  It also looks like they have some bundle deals for devices that may be worth checking out.

On Motorola’s Facebook page, you can save 25% off of XOOM accessories by using the code “Facebook” at checkout.

    Cheers Doc!

  • Amazon Offers $25 Appstore Credit for Verizon Device Purchase Between Now and May 1

If you didn’t jump on Amazon’s $130 HTC Thunderbolt price, then maybe this new deal will help push you over the edge.  From now until May 1, Amazon is tossing out $25 Appstore credits for those that buy any Verizon Android phone.  You could also fork out a penny for the DROIDX or Incredible, but why would you when the new versions of each phone will be here in just a matter of days.

    Buy.

    Cheers Wade and Amazon!

  • DROID Charge Available on Pre-order at Let’s Talk for $249

The DROID Charge was announced this week and will make its way to wireless stores around the country on Thursday, April 28 as the first “DROID” 4G LTE phone.  Pricing was originally set at $299 on a 2-year contract, but Walmart (Let’s Talk) appears to be willing to undercut Big Red’s number and is offering it up on pre-order for $50 less at $249.  The device should arrive at your doorstep by Friday at the latest with the free overnight shipping included.

    Anyone ordering?

    Buy.

*Note – I always like to point out that these incredible deals from online retailers almost always come with some sort of a catch.  Most of them force you to retain every single aspect of your plan including features for at least 181 days after purchase or they will slap you with an unannounced charge for the full retail price of the device.  So if you purchase a phone through them, make sure you read the fine print and try not to switch the phone to another line, cancel texting, or drop to a lower minute plan for a few months or you could be in for a hefty fee.

  • Google Offers Goes Live in Portland to Battle it Out with Groupon

This may not be Android-related yet, but you can bet it will be before long.  Yep, Google activated their new Google Offers program today which will be similar (or exactly the same) to the services offered by companies like Groupon and Living Social.  A 1-day deal on a product or service for a fraction of its original price is the scheme, and my fine friends in Portland, Oregon get to experience it all first.  Assuming the beta test here in P-town takes off, the plan is for Google to expend to NYC and then the Bay Area.

And when I say that it’s not Android-related “yet,” that’s because we’re assuming it’ll only be a matter of weeks before an update to Google Maps goes live with Google Offers integration.  Or maybe even a Google Offers stand-alone app?  It only makes sense.

    Portlanders, sign up here!

    Cheers 0mie!
