Verizon customers in major cities across the U.S. should see a big time increase in 4G LTE performance this week. According to GigaOm, Big Red has quietly doubled, and even tripled 4G LTE capacity across its network, available in commercial corridors of cities such as San Francisco, New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, and the list goes on. AT&T Launches Another Big List of 4G LTE Markets
This morning, AT&T announced a big list of new 4G LTE markets throughout the country, even expanding its reach up to the Fairbanks metropolitan area in Alaska. That makes it the third LTE market in Alaska on AT&T’s network, right after Anchorage and Juneau.

Verizon Announces Ellipsis 7 Tablet, Launches November 7 for $249.99 (Updated: With Specs)
Verizon announced its plans to launch the Ellipsis 7 tablet onto its 4G LTE network this morning, starting November 7 at just $249.99. The tablet features a 7″ HD display, front-facing camera and 4G LTE, but all other specs are unknown at this time. AT&T Launches Six 4G LTE Markets, Still Claims to be Nation’s Most Reliable LTE Network
AT&T announced another group of newly launched 4G LTE markets this morning, finally including some more west coast love. Seemed like for a while there that only the mid-west was seeing new light ups. The company is still touting its LTE network not only as the fastest in America, but also the most reliable according to third-party data. Sprint Lights up 45 New 4G LTE Markets in America, Brings Total to 230
This morning, Sprint announced the light up of 45 new 4G LTE markets in America, bringing their total LTE market number to 230. That number has grown quite a bit this year, but the company is still far behind AT&T and Verizon’s market counts. Much like T-Mobile, both of these companies have been playing catch up ever since Verizon launched its first LTE city back in 2011. (more…)
